Reviews for IXL

← Back to IXL

IXL is a very simple, no hype, old school way of learning Spanish. You have to pay close attention to your answers. You just can't be sloppy. Lovely program.

The reason why i don't like this app is not so helpful i mean it but it wasn't helping me with my study in school but it just keeps me getting all of the questions that i always get called on to answer and it just got me confused, frustrating, Smart less like what i mean by smart less is by like my brain stops working, losing my good grades and get bad grades but if you guys really want to try it out do it.

a job application make a joke on this I hate math sm when you lose ponts in this app I currently in primary school also in that space almost in high school I show an ads for this I click on this this I'd the worst app I hat math sommuch even in this app just wow this abt hurting the point form shame on this app

WORST LEARNING APP EVER. it makes you crashout all the time and it barely helps you learn. I had to use it for school and everybody hated it. if you mess up once, you can loose up to 10 points. if you get the answer right, you only get like 2. overall, this app will make anybody annoyed and want to smash their device, like all the time.

Great way for your kids to work on things they need a little extra help with and also helps you see how they're progressing. Great app!

I use this app in school and it is very frustrating to say the least. the point system is trash. For example if you made it to a 83 on a assignment or assessment and get a question wrong then it brings you down to a 71 or 75. Its honestly frustrating and garbage. The problems get harder around the end also. I know it's suppose to get harder at the end so that IXL can test our knownlegdge and how well we do know it but that just makes it harder for people like me to make a 100 on the assignment.

I am currently in high school, and this has got to be the worst app for learning. I'm not saying this just because I hate math, even though I can't stand it. But, when you get questions wrong, you lose your points and have to keep getting them right in a row over and over again to get to a decent amount. I end up getting discouraged and frustrated and just end up closing the app. It's not a good app for learning, especially when it comes to something challenging (like math, for me)

I have found this is a challenging program. I do like that it has the skills practice units. Our granddaughter likes the science and social studies units the most. She has her challenges in math and reading.

I hate this app only for one reason most of the time it's wrong and I know this for calculus W. it makes me do an extra step so I try to find this if you have to do this extra step so I put in the same problem I do not see the extra step anywhere and I do this way to much times and plus for the last step for a normal definite integral there just doing wrong and this is hurting me I got like 50 problems wrong and now it's really confusing me for that reason that's why I hate this app

This app is the worst. It's not just the problems, but you have to SIGN IN to play it? Really? If you don't sign in, you have a limited amount of time and don't get to play or use the app unless you can sign in. I am in seventh grade and my school doesn't have this, so I thought I could just use guest, but when it said 'unlimited practice' I was fuming. Instantly uninstall. I'm not good at explaining, but I hope you get what I mean.

I have used this as a replacement for iready, and it still sucks. Every time I get a question wrong on the skills, it takes like 6 to 10 points away, like why, you only get 2 3 points. If it's supposed to be for kids then make it interesting for them. I always thought it would be better than iready, because they only do the diagnostic once, but on the other stuff, it's not worth it.

The app is not very good. You can't use skill plans or check on the progress of your child. It doesn't show recommendations on what they should be working on. We use IXL everyday and I was excited to have the app so we could use it while we were running around this summer and still get our practice in. The kids complain that it not easy to navigate and would rather do it at home.

IXL Overall isn't a very good design First of all, at the begining it adds 10 points for getting a question right. Great so you think its adding 10 for each one then you realize when your higher up it only adds TWO. In other words, It misleads you to believe it gives you many points, but really doesn't. Second of all, when you get a question wrong it subtracts about 3x the amount for getting a question. (Which is EXTREMLY frustrating) Third of all, ITS ONLY FOR PRACTICING! It doesn't teach.

Horrible app. Totally unusable! Crashes all the time. If it's frustrating for the parents, I can only imagine how frustrating it is for my kids or kids in general trying to learn. I thought it was the tablet I was using but the issue remains the same regardless of device. Definitely stop promoting this app because it makes me just want to cancel my membership. Horrible!! Do not download at all. Keep your sanity.. do not download.. it's that bad. Did I mention...Horrible?

I would give it a 0 but I can't so I'll give it a one. this app made many people in my classes fail, I've seen kids cry, and it's overwhelming. this didn't help me, it's a confusing way of teaching and just feels like a pain in the back, I would rather the small building books when you build a bed. please take this into consideration, thank you.

This app has got to be the worst app you could ever get for a PC or mobile device. It doesn't teach children, it TESTS them. So why do you need a app to test yourself in math skills?! Also, to add salt to the wound, there is the overwhelming SMARTSCORE where if you get a question incorrect, you could lose a lot of points, and it's really hard to gain them back. So IXL Education, if you are hearing this, please add a confirmation box so that if we make a typo, we could go back and change it.

I have to use this app for school and I absolutely hate it. If you get one question wrong, it takes like 5+ points off. It is really annoying that there isn't a dyslexic font. I would like the choice to read the articles/questions in a dyslexic font. Also, motivational music in the background maybe? Overall, I hate this app and have nothing good to say about it. Not very good at explaining what to do and just expect you to know what everything is. It sounds fine, but it's terrible in my opinion.

I hate this. Have been using this app for a while and has been great up until now. I was doing my lessons as usual and spent nearly 3 hours on them, once I'm nearly done it freezes and crashes, everything gone. I get the lose point system to make sure you can't randomly guess, but all it does is make me angry to unimaginable extent. I'm on the verge of tears right now. Also, the "help" isn't that great. It gives you a nice way to do it but all it does is give you the equation, The bare minimum.

I usually don't want to slam my head into a keyboard. But when I do IXL, I want to do that. When I have used ixl, it has made me so stressed and discouraged. The "smart score" system is so rigged. In later levels, (70-99), you get 2-4 points when you get something right. However, if you get one wrong, you go down by 7 or 8 points, which can make some lessons be half a class period long. It makes me want to complete the lesson so much, I dont even learn anything. Get rid of it, or at least fix it

It's honestly annoying as hell. The point system is really messed up and they changed the levels to letters which I find hard to navigate. The problems are hard at the end and it doesn't round neither stay where it is when you get one wrong. It has other subjects but they're also bad. It sets you too high to practice and learn. Awful app PC or phone. Parents use another app like Dreambox, it's fun and you actually learn unlike ixl. Oh and don't use any version of lexia, you'll find that one out.
