The J novel subscription works best if you like to read many series, don’t care about owning them and want to support the writers legally. The app works well as an alternative to website, but doesn’t offer any other advantages (eg no offline downloads).

Works as intended, but somehow I still don’t feel fully comfortable reading using this. One of the reasons is how toggling the interface in the reader also moves the text, but that’s probably my own preference. I’m really grateful how this app now allows coins purchase though, I’ve been waiting for that for a while!

App is pretty awful. You can’t subscribe from inside the app, you can’t search through or filter recents, and most of their recent publishing acquisitions of manga are nowhere near as caught up as the independent scanlators, so it could be years before we see the chapters we would’ve seen monthly/weekly.

It is very frustrating to use this app (or web version) if you have reading accessibility issues. There is no option for text to speech. Needs a “recently read” or “continue reading” feature – anything not current (eg the monthly catchup list) requires numerous interactions to filter, scroll (or search) the series, select the volume, and then select the part you last read. Passable reader. Lack of ratings for books is a shame. Oh, and my forum access has been broken on it for over a year, and support gave up trying to help me after a single three email interaction that ended with, “it looks fine from our end. Sorry!”.

Looks like a wrapper for a browser, but It wouldn’t be an issue if it was usable, but it didn’t. Search in series doesn’t work at all. There is no filter in the releases’ list except the favorite

The filters don’t work and I can’t seaech for titles. You can read chapters and it keeps track of reading history, which gets it an extra star. But I’ll be sticking with the website for now since it’s very difficult to find the stories I want.

Love the amount of content, the weekly releases and that they often have entire series available on catch-up without having to purchase the books individually. the only downside is being unable to search by genre. if they improved the search functionality, then it would get 5 stars.

not sure what happened but framerates on a recent update have kind of gone bad…it’s text, why can’t it run at 60fps? also the white font is light gray, not white…. makes it hard to read, bad for accessibility
