So here's my honest take on JRemote3. I've tested a bunch of media remote apps and this one's pretty good overall. The new version is a big improvement - the internal media player works way better and the image viewing support is a nice bonus. But it's still got some quirks, like the occasional UI lag and the learning curve for some of the features. Compared to other JRiver remote apps, I'd say this one's the most polished and reliable. Not perfect, but a solid option if you're in the JRiver ecosystem.

Pros

  • Tons of features for controlling your JRiver Media Center

  • CloudPlay lets you stream from a huge online library
  • Simple to use once you get the hang of it

Cons

  • Interface can be a little clunky and confusing at first
  • Occasional performance issues and UI lag
  • Requires a JRiver Media Center setup, not a standalone app

Description

Been using JRemote3 for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you control your JRiver Media Center from your phone or tablet. Pretty solid app if you’re into streaming music and videos around your home.

Here’s what you do: you can play audio or video directly on your device, and there’s support for high-quality lossless formats like FLAC and ALAC. It’s got playlist management and even lets you view metadata for tracks in your library. And there’s this CloudPlay feature that lets you stream over a hundred thousand tracks from the internet.

Look, if you use JRiver Media Center, you’ll probably love this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want an easy way to control your media stuff from your phone.

Playlist management is buggy and not working. None of playlist function works in Jremote3. only clear playlist works. Very disappointing update after purchasing previous two releases.

Another $$$ grab from JRiver. The company hasn't fixed ALL the issues with JRemote2. All the same issues from JRemote2 are still present in this new version, plus new issues....

Coolest thing since sliced bread. It's the remote control I always wanted for my main music system. Thank you!
