So here's my honest take on Knot IQ - The Bear Essentials. I've tested a bunch of knot tying and survival apps, and this one's pretty solid. The 3D animations are really well done and make learning new knots a breeze. It's got a ton of content too, with over 185 knots and growing. The best part is it works offline, so you can use it in the field without needing an internet connection.

The only downsides are that the UI is a little basic and could use some polish, and it can get a bit repetitive after you've learned the core knots. But for a free app, it's pretty impressive. If you're into camping, boating, or just want to pick up some handy skills, I'd definitely recommend giving Knot IQ a shot.

Description

Been using Knot IQ – The Bear Essentials for a couple months now. It’s basically an offline app that teaches you how to tie all sorts of knots. Pretty solid if you’re into camping, survival, or just wanna learn some new skills.

Here’s what you can do: there’s a ton of 3D animations that show you step-by-step how to tie different knots. It’s got over 185 knots and they’re adding more all the time. And you can compare similar knots side-by-side, which is super helpful when you’re trying to learn.

Look, if you’re into outdoor activities or just want an easy way to pick up some new practical skills, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does the job and it’s free to download. Worth checking out.
