Superb app that covers all the bases. I am a long time backwoods camper, but my knot knowledge was abysmal. After discovering the channel and learning essential bushcraft and camping knots, I thought I would try out the app to expand my repertoire. I was not expecting such a wealth of features and options with great presentation and customization. Great app at an amazing value.

If you can tie your own shoes.., You can do Magic with this App. Ok, that could be a slight exaggeration, as far as magic goes, because this is better. I'm a complete novice when it comes to knots, but I've always been fascinated by them, and by people who can take a piece of string and hoist or secure things, make loops that actually hold, tighten down on loads with force you would get when using ratchet straps or zip ties. That's Magic in my opinion. You can learn it all with this App. 5 Stars

DJ, I love your videos and as a long time knot guy, I thought I'd support your channel and buy the app. I have Cliff's book and watch several other knot channels like First Class Amature, but your videos are superb for youngsters and those without experience to learn from. Top notch! I gave the app 5-stars, even though I haven't even opened it yet. I'll be back to provide feedback after I've used it. What I like most about your app is the off-line capability.

This is an incredible app that checks all the boxes. One time price, no subscription. Dev team that listens and improves the app. Favorites, lists, categories, animated diagrams, offline use. The features go on and on. Thank you DJ, you've accomplished something fantastic here.

This application is going to be one of my favorite past times to explore. There are many knots and originally I had issues with searching and sorting but after a prompt response from DJ, we got it functioning properly. Make sure you keep the app open for like 15 minutes as there are background processes that need to take place.

Great app for discovering and practicing various knots. It is a helpful tool for me around the house and during camping trips to find a suitable knot for a large variety of use cases! The app is polished and user friendly, the knots are animated and in 3D and you can step through each sequence at your own pace. Works without data connection, which is great for traveling. Friendly developer, frequent useful updates are planned.

Really like this app, used it for a week when camping. One long term feature that would be handy was for the search to find knots if you don't know the name. I was trying to tie off a clothes line I ran around a pop up shelter and hoped I could find a better knot but the search wasn't too helpful since I didn't know what to look for. Keep up the great work!

This app is a must-have for anyone who goes outdoors and/or is into knots for everyday use. Very useful and informative. the offline option is brilliant - new 2.0 - even better - the speed control is now much easier to access, and the download size is great. still testing out my favourites and will update soon. Latest update adds the ability to sort your favorites. This adds a great level of control and convenience.

Love how DJ shows many knots on YouTube clearly and efficiently. Enjoy using his new app. It took more than 30 minutes to download the contents when first purchased. Be patient. The app is useable without Internet connection after that's done. Loading speed has improved significantly with newer versions. Way to go👍DJ. One time payment. Not a subscription. And it keeps improving and gets more features. Wow!

Really great app. Loads of useful knots and the animations and 3d views are super clear and useful. Features for the future that would make it better. A bulk download option so it's easier to get the knots offline without having to get each one individually. Also some kind of search by use case would be helpful to find a good knot in a pinch. The categories are ok but something that allows you to search based on what you're trying to do would be really helpful.

Fantastic app! I've used a few other apps in the past that offer knot tying tutorials, but honestly nothing done as well as what I'm seeing here. Most of the others that I've tried are step by step still photos of how-to tutorials which are similar to having a knot book. One app I used in the past had videos, but didn't allow the ability to adjust position to get a view from any angle at how to tie each knot. it works great on my 6 year old phone too. I highly recommend to anyone learning knots!

The app works great. The 3d view is exceptional. Bear has though of everything yet kept it simple. Offline is a smart idea. But it comes at a cost. 2.75Gb of Internal memory. Wish I could move the data to an SD card. Lost one star because it ties up so much memory. I got a response from DJ. just a suggestion because I don't know which knots I want to use. Let the user download all and then make the ones they don't need all the detail on lite. once I learn a knot I don't need the fancy stuff.

Exceptional "how to" app for tying knots!!! Provides detailed 3D instructions that you can adjust the speed, view and zoom. Very well organized, making it easy to find a specific knot or knots that are typically used for all types of interests, i.e. camping, marine. Detailed descriptions on what the knot is used for. I highly recommend to have this on your phone!!!

It's a great app for tying your phone up in knots. To be fair, I can't speak to the quality of the application because after numerous attempts to download it, it has never successfully completed a download.So until there's an update, it's useless. Update: I just downloaded and tried version 2, and it's everything I have ever wanted in a knot tying app. I can select the knots that are most useful to my applications and download them to view offline. Thanks for the update! Great work!

This app is incredible and I'm proud to be an early supporter! I was in boy scouts and I can remember having the hardest time figuring out some knots. Once I figured them out, it was like upgrading my brain. I started to see the mechanics of different knots and it opened up a whole world to me. The smallest difference between two knots can make a fundamental difference in how they can be used. Because of that, I think learning knots is a great analog for learning how important nuance can be.

I just downloaded the app and can't get the opening message about deleting the old app version to get off my screen. Clicking on the "X" didn't work, so I have clicked everywhere else that I can think of, and it won't disappear. I can get what's behind that message to change when I click on the options at the bottom of the screen, but the message still won't go away. I closed the app, reopened it, and still no change...

exceptional app, needs some bug fixes, though. I noticed that when a knot is downloaded for 3D use, the video glitches out on most knots. too much to list here. but this definitely should be looked into. other than that, this app is amazing. I can't wait to take it outdoors to start my training.

Hard recommend! Absolute 🔥 app. Clean animations, actually useful information, works OFFLINE, downloadable files, custom lists, NO DATA COLLECTION, family sharing enabled by default! I downloaded this app early to give feedback and they actually implemented all of my recommendations, which blew my mind. It's been so long since I've felt any integrity from a company I had forgotten that's how it's supposed to be. You offer a product that does what it says on the tin; I'll buy it. 👍

I really enjoy this app. Offline use. Downloadable content. Zero privacy intrusion. No ads. Great work. One suggestion. Add rope, or extension cord management knots. I saw the Daisy Chain and thought, some rope management techniques would be great. One might be the over-under loops so that it doesn't tangle when you pull it out. There are a few out there that would be great of they were included. For example, what do climbers use for their long ropes? Otherwise, super happy with the purchase.

Great app! Price was cheap for all the information required to create! Bear Essentials is one of the top 2 best bushcrafting teachers. Keeps it simple, thoroughly explains and uses props to help you visualize! All his products are so affordable as well. You can see he does this for making money but doesn't want to gouge you because he enjoys sharing his knowledge! Great man!
