I'm glad to see others have reported the same experiences with the contact less check-in. It's not working at all and totally opposite of its intent. Now I have to give them my phone number to check in. lots of the time thru the mask, I'll have to repeat myself. Frustrated that I cannot get ride of the contact less(useless) check in option. At least the old method we can just scan our app and that's all it takes. Improve it quickly or remove it. It is not helpful at all.

Pretty useless app and they buried the card in the menu, making it just a little more difficult to get to. If the main purpose of this app is for the membership card, make it more convenient to get to. Update.... Why reorganize your navigation bar and move the membership. The item that everyone needs the moment they walk in the door. Put membership card at the top again.

This app is garbage... I got a new device and wasn't able to complete the setup my self. I have to go to the "club" to finish up the setup. What's the point in having an app if you're going to need someone to step it up for you? I would rather have a keyring tag or card with a barcode. No technically needed. I also wouldn't need to take my phone to the gym to get broken or stolen.

Terrible application like everything else about LA Fitness. The application is poorly integrated. Why does the application want the dam barcode so badly. You forget your password, barcode, want to sign up, barcode! Then LA Fitness fishing doesn't provide barcodes anymore. Then when you finally get it installed and log in it says "visit desk" which or just bunch of poo9 trained staff. Go to Planet Fitness. Its way better all around!

Can't log in with Qr code either. Had to go into my local location since they didn't provide me with a barcode or email confirmation. Why give me an option to log in with a barcode if it's not provided? I hope this is not bad sign about signing up with them. The staff was nice and helped me get it taken care of. But still this app isn't that great. It wants permissions for everything and uses my personal calendar instead of having one built in to sign up for classes. Me don't like that.

Account enrollment was a mess due to unclear instructions. More annoying, you can't add the pass to your wallet meaning you always need to bring your phone to the gym rather than loading the pass on your smart watch wallet (like other gyms allow). This app needs updating and modernization too, from graphics to user experience. There's probably a bunch of security holes that need fixing as well. Get to work LA Fitness. Please!

This App is complete garbage, wife and I are new members and it won't update it's keeps showing a message to visit the club to activate. Problem is we have and the club doesn't have a clue what to do, they keep saying it's happening to a lot of members. Bloomingdale, FL Location. Go back to the scan cards they never had issues.

Nice to be able to see the classes at my local club. Wish it had an equipment maintenance request feature. I frequently report issues to the front desk, but they never write down the details of the issue, so it doesn't really get fixed. This version (1.197) locked up on me recently and wouldn't show anything but the main logo. Had to uninstall and re-install.

It's ok. Lets you find gyms and classes, and make reservations for personal training. Biggest problem is around the training reservation integration with your calendar. It has that feature, which is great… but you have to check the box to add to calendar for each and every reservation. I frequently forget and just press confirm. If I don't realize it and then immediately go to the calendar and add it manually, I will probably end up missing the appointment. It really sucks.

It's nice that the app informs you of a substitute instructor for a class, but it would be really helpful to also know if the class format has changed. It really sucks to show up for a class that's listed as Cardio Kickboxing just to find out that the sub is teaching Zumba instead. Also, it quit tracking my checkins several months ago. Otherwise a pretty good app. Update- They did what I suggested ! Thanx !

I have a OnePlus 5 and the app doesn't work anymore to check-in. When trying to check-in the message reads, "be within 500 feet of a gym" while I am about to walk into the gym. I wrote to the to the apps contact if there is an issue and a month has gone by and they haven't responded. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times to hopefully fix the issue and it still doesn't work.

Still surprised as to how a company like LA Fitness cannot afford to operate a functional app. I cannot even log into the app from my new phone to gain access to my membership card and scan it. All the gyms around me do not make key tags any more. They really need to work on these issues. If you're going to make technology the only way to run your business, at least make sure it's working properly. 1 star is a bit too much for a useless app I cannot access.

No visible option to freeze your membership, scummy business practice. Every guide I watch to figure out how to freeze it tells me to do it online, but the website just says "sorry, an error has occurred." and never lets me log in. Store won't answer me either. Really making me waste my time by having to go to my la fitness building to do something I should be able to do on my own in 30 seconds.

App used to be decent until they decided to update the "contactless check in". Seriously never works!!! Just being able to pull up your membership card was so convenient but since they changed it, I haven't used the contactless even once as it only works when it wants.. As many others have said, it's totally random if the app will let you be within 500ft or not even if you're standing in the lobby of the gym!. I end up having to have a "contact" check-in with my phone #. Fix this!!

"Recent Check-in count" app feature, please It would be really great if you could Institute a location based feature so that we can see how many check-ins in the past hour there have been at a given specific gym. I would be far more likely to use the gym regularly if I knew I wasn't having to compete for equipment quite as much Once I arrived. Thanks!

Overall I think the app has the basic information needed. I would prefer if there was a way to report broken machines for maintenance (as others have suggested) and a way to check how busy the gym is based on how many members have checked in. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would rather go when it's not packed, especially if you're trying to fit a workout in around your job

Yesterday, I was able to reserve a space for a class using the mobile app. Today, I cannot. The option to do so has disappeared. Also, while I was typing an email to the developer, the email shut down (accessed email app via the app store, not directly through gmail) and trying to access LA Fitness via the app store just resulted in a loop of it opening/closing every time I tried.

Not bad for checking class schedules and keeping track of your visits, buggy at times (slow load times of schedules and personal trainer availability). Wish the app could do more. For example a workout log, to keep track of workouts, music or third party app music control, analytics for busiest times. Some people would like to know when it's not as busy to allow you the most use of the available equipment.

Bring back the widgets and I'll change my rating. As others have said, removing the Widgets has made the app less than ideal. Used to be one click to get my id up, now it's three. And the Contact Free (still 3 clicks) is nice, but the people at the desk aren't trained on it, so I have to explain that I did contactless check-in and then they look on the computer to see if it registered.

this app works perfectly well for displaying your membership card, reserving court times, and locating the nearest club. I find that some of the more "obscure" features do not work, for example, I can't open my latest membership statement document, nor does the "contact us" feature work for me on my Android devices. most importantly, I would like the ability to pay my membership dues through the app.
