Love the app but lately it keeps crashing altogether, opening with some computer speak jargon or taking so long to load a particular page, that I finally have to give up trying altogether. To the point now I am having to use other websites instead. Please fix the bugs. Thanks and God bless.
Reviews for Laudate
← Back to LaudateThe app is good but it needs a redesign. For example when you want to read the Bible the text is not responsive and it's difficult to read it because it's white letters and a yellow background so it almost doesn't have enough contrast to read it easily. They should add more prayers as the one for the students.
Liturgy of the Hours is just links to websites. Some things can and some things can't be bookmarked. I did discover under the settings option that if you select Evangelizo for the English Readings it will show in app instead of a website link. The Daily Readings Saint of the Day is where you will find the Latin Mass. This is what I've discovered in just a few minutes.
I'm sure it's a great app for people who are raised as catholics, but for a potential joiner of the faith I find the lack of explanation of anything on the sections (and particularly the rosary pages) very very unhelpful and confusing. I don't know how to use this app. This is definitely for people who attended catholic schools and not for newbies.
The My Prayers section is a gold mine. Haven't found this anywhere else. It could be an app all by itself. Please don't change it but would love it even more if you could 1) "ghost" or "checklist" prayers so you know what you have left to say 2) a drag up-down reorder feature would be great 3) Expanded text capacity for prayers.
Now to go to any reading in the attached Bible, you have to scroll the chapter from chapter 1 verse 1 to reach what you want to read. Horrible system. Why can't it be like before, where you can directly select the chapter and verse. Very HORRIBLE UPDATE. This now forced me to have a separate app for the Bible. Rectify this immediately.
One upgrade I would like to suggest is to have a setting of Auto Download of Daily Bible Readings and content related to it in the Background, so the moment you want to access it you dont have to wait for it to download. In different areas the network can vary, so this makes the user wait for a long duration of time to download the content of the same.
Static Rosary 'image' is a clunky addon that needs to be revised. If you click anywhere outside of the next virtual bead, in the Rosary or Divine Mercy applets, it tells you 'Please follow the order of the Rosary,' which is not only distracting, but it's unhelpful.... Picking the desired mystery is a bit cumbersome as well as it's not intuitive to press the X for that option. There's also a noticeable delay with the app itself, lacks flow and seems to rely a bit too much on external content.
While this app offers many things, it doesn't actually allow viewing of daily mass readings on the app itself. You are required to open a browser to view readings online. This is not feasible for those who do not have wifi or data. Please consider having an option where mass readings can be downloaded to the app for offline use.
Previously had Laudate on my android phone. Suddenly I could not connect with any part of the entire site I found comprehensive and useful. I checked the app later and it seems as though it should run on my phone. A friend have the same situation and she directed me to pick up app on Google Play. I then entered through Laudate's FB page and miracle dictu, it worked! I was giddy with the success! Today when I clicked the icon loaded on my homepage and the d#*^ thing didn't open again. HELP
Positive Experience. I love this FREE app. It has so much to offer. I am currently experiencing some issues on my phone app with the reflection, but I am able to access it via my Kindle. Other than that, I just love this app and use it daily. I have used it for many years and have never been disappointed. I'm always recommending to others as a very useful tool for prayers etc. I once had an issue, I wrote them, and they were quick with the reply and the fix. Again, I add "FREE" app!
INACTION. Must exit each prayer etc. to get to the other. A long-submitted request to be able to scroll left/right, right/left is ignored. The developer always has an excuse. Reinstalled a year plus later and still no action taken on request or whether implementation is imminent. My comment on inaction has been reinforced (by the developer).
This is an enjoyable, appreciated and interesting app. It's quite easy to navigate. There are many items of the Laudate to explore, learn from & with which to pray.----- Some items can be used without WiFi or Data, some can not. (The app would be huge if everything was available offline.) --- I think the calendar is very, very useful to find today's Readings. --- The only glitch that I have found is that the choice of Latin Rosary gives the text in English, not Latin. The Latin prayer section's prayers are, indeed, in Latin- just as we learned them back in the olden days. --- I want to publicly thank the developer for creating this app and giving it to all of us to enjoy and from which to learn and re-learn! Enjoy This Day!
I love it! There are a few typos here and there, and the interface has a slightly outdated feel, but I love it. Two complaints: the rosary audio doesn't let you skip back to a certain part you didn't hear, and you have to skip back to the beginning. Also, the interactive virtual rosaries are just klunky and tedious to use. Edit: Old typos in confession pages are still there.
Yeah, a great app, but I have issue with the background colour that looks like the alphabets for the page are all written in White colours in an off- white background to say. This makes it difficult for me to read under certain time of the day, so if you change the colours like what we have here; black background with white writings.
Excellent app for the price. A tip, one I only just discovered, if you select the spanner in the home page and then select English readings, you can change the source for English readings. By default it's for US Catholics, but by changing the English readings source you will get the daily readings for your region! It's True. All of it. And it's free!
It is quite extensive the quantity of prayers, in different languages. However, in Latin there are some important mistakes. Like in the Saints litanies, it says eripuas instead of eripias. This is just one example. It also remove some of the litanies and there are other mistakes in other prayes. They should be corrected, as they are praises to God.
I love this app! It has great collection of Latin prayers and songs. And I like the fact that I can have my own prayers saved. However, one cannot save those personal prayers and use them across devices. For a long time, I had this app on the phone I was using and collected lyrics of several songs over the years. But my phone crashed. And I have lost all those prayers. Please is it possible to have it in such a way that we can sign in and save all our "My prayers". Thank you 😊
For a couple of weeks now, the daily readings screen now has the blue menu bar encroaching on the right side of the screen, partially obscuring the last letters of each line. Might be a device-specific problem as it's not occuring on my husband's Samsung phone. Please investigate for the Pixel 7. Edit: I realized that it isn't directly the app, but how the app acts when I am using Firefox as my browser. This does not happen when using Chrome.
I think this app is really comprehensive.. However, it definitely has some kinks that make using it annoying if not difficult. I start with morning prayer and very, very often when I attempt to switch to Bible verse for the day, it keeps on searching for an extended period of time. I have to uninstall and install again in order to continue. I would be a happy camper if this could be corrected.
