Reviews for Lumenate: Explore & Relax

I have done some meditation retreats in Thailand, different types, including hardest ones like Goenka's. The state I would get in after 3 days and 30 hours of sitting meditation is similar to what I get in with a 15 min session on Lumenate. I'm not sure how it's possible but it just does. That's what made me love this app.

Really wanted to like this app as I have aphantasia (inability to see in my minds eye) and honestly the first night I was really excited as I was seeing colors and patterns which I have never experienced. I felt the same way after the second night but the next day I had severe eye strain pain that turned into a 2 day migraine with nausea. I realize this can be a side effect and the program isn't suitable for everyone, unfortunately I'm part of that group. Cool idea though if it works for you!

I do enjoy buying applications to ones that I'll use but I refuse to use subscription-based services. all these subscription-based services add up. too bad cuz I like your app. but it'd be much happier paying one fixed price for a specific version with specific content. I get it, you're here to make money but sell new downloadable content if you want to make it continued income stream.

The introduction tutorial was easy to follow and it felt amazing. Interested, I paid for a month subscription. Did 10 mins of Befriending Sleep next and had a truly profound experience. I do not exaggerate when I say that I was in tears and against a vibrant field of green all I could feel, say and hear was, "So Much Love". Thank you. Respectfully if I may, the only thing I could see that you may consider is the ability to edit journal entries and of course, more content lol. Well done.

I am so glad I took a years membership to this App. I have real trouble falling asleep, even when I am completely exhausted. But, with Lumenate, especially the "Drift off" session, the soothing music and pulse flashing lights, I fall asleep. I do wish it went on longer than 20 minutes. But all I do is put it on twice if once doesn't do the job. One thing I'd change would be that, a bit like YouTube Premium, I can put my phone screen off. But when I do that with Lumenate, it stops the App.

I have tried and used several wellbeing and meditation apps, but saw an advert for Lumenate and gave it a try. There is an introduction and a free demonstration experience, and after using this a few times was amazed and surprised at the experience. I downloaded the full version to try some of the other many sessions. Some actually make me fall asleep, whilst others make me feel energised - like at the end of a live gig. Great app, but at the moment cost of living prevents me from subscribing

I've been using this for several months now, on average 2 or 3 times a week. I know I've not explored the programmes enough and should really be more adventurous. I find it effective for calming my overactive mind (possible ADHD, but not diagnosed) when I take my near-daily afternoon siesta. I only use the Drift Off programme. I usually set it 20 minutes, spend 5 minutes with thoughts racing and thinking "damn, it's not going to work this time" then wake after 10 minutes feeling refreshed!

As someone who meditates almost daily with the intent of reaching an altered state this app helped kick me into that state almost instantly, nothing has helped achieve that so quickly and with the addition of helping journey in a way I've never done before. Definitely recommend if you're experienced with meditation and if not the voice over can help with that getting started. It didn't work as well for my spouse who doesn't meditate as often as I do but he did enjoy the flashy colors.

It does take me out of my head, by keeping me in my head, oddly enough so that's nice. Thing is, I'm a hypnotist and I'm used to both having and inspiring very vivid waking dreams in trance. This doesn't manage that at all, for whatever reason. It's overload but the deepening and guidance is lacking to non-existent. Perhaps that's not what it's supposed to do and, if that's the case, it works pretty well.

I have aphantasia and am auDHD and can never get my head to quiet down. This app helps me see colors and shapes and scenes with my eyes closed that I wasn't able to before and it quiets my mind, something I was never able to do with regular meditation. I highly recommend paying for the full service, to me it is worth it.

Don't think I have ever left a review. I thought I would just do the trial because I can never calm my mind to meditate. Somehow the light flashing made me be able to stay present and really feel the de stress and relaxation intended. Also, I have severe insomnia only relieved with meds I refuse to take. Last night, I tried it for the first time and I do not remember falling asleep, but I woke up before my alarm and rejuvenated!

The most intense light show I have ever experienced. It's like you're in the middle of a firework show. So intense you almost have to look away. Overwhelming. I see every color and shape. It looks like a kaleidoscope. I imagine that is what it would look like to be on psychedelic drugs. I want to have a secondary effect beyond a light show. I want to experience some emotional releases, or my 3rd eye opening or feeling like I've reached some deep meditative state. I will keep using patiently.

My stress levels have dropped considerably since I started using Luminate. The "intentions" that I visualize during sessions pop up all day long, but not in an intrusive sense, or in a way that makes me feel pressured for all of the things I haven't accomplished yet... More like a gentle, encouraging hand that makes me feel joy in the things I have accomplished, and a reminder of how much success is possible. I have found that I seek to surrounded myself with more serenity.

Very nice, relaxing music which helps shape the vivid visuals induced by the light. I haven't used psychedelics, but this truly felt like how it's portrayed and described by others. Only two free experiences in free version, but the Deep Exploration open session is repeatable and I find it very appealing as an unguided model for your mind to open up and direct itself. I will adjust budget for annual subscription 10/10 *Highly recommend! *DONOT use if photosensitive.

I don't think I have ever found a mobile dream machine where I can rehearse some of the later stages of secret practices. I have only used it a few times, but seems very good to learn how to effectively look beyond the geometric flashes and into visions without having to get to the state first. IMHO, the musical changes are too fast and tracks cliche. I tried using my own soundtrack, but it would be better if the app could sonify it or let me find what works for me. A biofeedback set please

first day using the app, over an hour's worth of sessions. certainly this will be well worth the yearly subscription (today, alone, was worth the cost). another user's critique of the journal is spot on.. accidentally swiped and lost an entry. why no confirmation pop-up? it was a 5 song playlist to a c.y.o. soundtrack session and can thankfully be easily recovered. but could imagine someone losing much more precious entries this way. a more robust journal (i.e. search, tags, etc.) would get 5⭐

hallucinations were subtle, not the problem though. After using the app, my flashlight on my phone wouldn't turn on, said it was on, but wasn't, AND the camera app would immediately crash after trying to open it, and the camera was otherwise not working until I restarted my phone. Needless to say I think, that's extremely concerning. What was the app doing messing with my camera? I didn't give it any permission to use the camera.

Please add the feature to use this app with the Zflip phone closed. I get a message stating to ensure maximum strobe performance the phone needs to be... it cuts off there. I assume it says something along the lines of open. Using it with a stand up wireless charging base, the optimal position would be with the phone fully closed so I can easily access my alarms in the morning. Otherwise, thank you for creating this app!

I have to be honest, I first downloaded the app because of the involvement of Rosamund Pike. Not even knowing that she actually does some of the guided meditations. That was definitely a wonderful plus. The ones she does are my favorites. I have really enjoyed more than a couple of the meditations. I have never been good at meditation, but the guided methods really is a beautiful system that works for me. I would love to have more guided ones added (in time of course). Thank you!

Trying the app is easy and might very well help some people, but like everything to can be even slightly beneficial, someone has to put a price tag on the health and wellbeing. I can see paying a one-time fee, but a constant monthly charge is just another leech on my neck I can't afford. additionally, if you are going to make the most of this app, you will have to silence all other notifications while using this app. I was looking forward to finally getting something that would help with stress.
