This app for their reward system is pointless. It worked for awhile but there have been no rewards for months. When you show the code, rarely do you get the acceptance note. So is it really registering. It has become more of a burden. You have to log onto their wifi and when they're busy, it's cumbersome. I spend a lot of money here, dining 3-4 times a week. The punch cards were more effective.

Apparently, management at the locations I've gone to have mentioned the plethora of issues to technical support and nothing is being done. I often find it too difficult to order even when I want McAllister's, so I can't imagine what users who are only partially keen on the food feel when they try to order. Really needs improvement, and really needs to be a more pertinent issue for the company.
I used the address closest to my location, but when I placed my order, it used a favorite location that I don't even remember setting. I didn't notice until after I had arrived at the closest location looking for my food. Chipotle does this, too. Why not put the closest location on TOP and the last location on the bottom? Why would I bypass the closest location to drive across town? Double check the location before you order! I'm going to Firehouse Subs.
I tried to use special offers. It does not work. Both options in store or in the app do not work. The QR code does not scan in the store. The app option does not apply at the time you check out. The store managers are great and work with you to get you the discounts but not much they can do. We love Mcalister, but if promotions are not offered or we have a hard time like we have had for the past 3 times, it will defer us to go to Mcalister.
What a mess. It is slow and cumbersome but on top of that it wouldn't accept my credit card becuase it said 03/30 was not a valid expiration date. It forced the tip amount, other buttons were there, just couldn't select them. It then offers me 20% off my first order but slaps a $5 service fee for online orders (not delivery mind you, pick up) I abandoned my 20% "discount" and this disaster of an app and ordered in store. It wouldn't even let me take screenshots for some reason
They've started charging an additional service fee, even for pickup orders while having gotten rid of Tableside ordering. I know it's typical corporation behavior to charge more and offer less these days, but it gets exhausting. Otherwise, the app works as expected albeit a bit annoying to navigate at times.
App is horrible. It doesn't allow for placing a dine-in order. Takes numerous tries to apply a discount offer to your order, probably hoping you'll give up & pay full price. Also, they use some strange math in determining a % off discount. Since when is 25% off of 13.34 = 2.97? I get 3.33 every time I calculate!
The app has removed the option of ordering tableside. It's clear McAlister's is removing accessibility options to prevent certain people from using their establishments. This also makes the app useless in general as you can no longer order food at the restaurant. If you do order food at the restaurant using the app, since they removed tableside you have to eat your food out of a plastic bag with a plastic fork while everyone else in the restaurant gets a real plate and silverware.
ordered meal, was given delivery time, & gave delivery instructions, no one showed up even though order said completed. Called store said it was never picked up & all they could do was cancel the order and refund the money. Said it was doordash but at no time during the order did I get a text or email from either mcalister's or doordash, just that it was complete. Worst part other than nothing to eat, manger stated up to 7 business days for a refund. Worst experience won't be using again.
The most recent app doesn't let me see the entire menu, only sandwiches. It doesn't let me customize my sandwiches the way I would like to. Or leave any kind of note with my order. It also tells me I don't qualify for a reward even though I have the items required for the reward in my cart. The new app is absolutely useless and it will prevent me from ordering in the future.
I picked asap and it kept telling me the time I picked was not available, please pick another time... I never picked a time. ASAP is the first time you have available.... you pick the time. I tried 4 different times saying the same. I had to go back and pick a delayed delivery for an hour later to get it to go thru. The delivery in the app needs fixed. Do now I have to wait an hour for food you could of delivered when ever you had it ready.. love the food, place and people. app needs work
The app works fine, but I'm extremely disappointed that they took away table side ordering with the latest update. Now we just place pickup orders and bring them back to our table when ready. I feel this creates a waste of materials/cost on McAlister's part since they use their to-go containers and disposable plastic ware unnecessarily.
I used to use this app 1 or 2 times a week..then it updated and I can no longer get it to load! uninstalled and re installed multiple times..changed passcode..same thing. Only place I can order is the website now. What happened ?? I had very positive review prior had to change it now. Food is still great but having the app convenience made for a much better experience. Fix it please!
Has not worked properly in two months. My old payment card expired, so I removed it and placed my two new cards in the app. Every time I've tried to check out, it won't recognize either card. I have entered them multiple times, but as soon as it says the card has been accepted, it automatically corrects to the old expired card.
Been a few months since I've been to McAlister's. When is it a good idea to charge people to use your app vs calling directly and tying up an employee to get them to take an order? Additionally, you add a tip automatically!! Tips are for good service. I placed the order on your app, I paid for the order on your app, I paid for the "convenience" of your supplying me an app, and I am picking the order up. You are saying I should tip you for preparing my food. Nah....that's your job.
The app was fine before. Nothing special and had occasional issues during checkout, but it was serviceable and easy to use. It was our usual for pick-up when we didn't feel like cooking. This new version, however, is worse in every way. Slower, more taps to find and customize food, no tableside, less customization options, inconsistent side options, missing menu items, doesn't tell you an item is out until you've gone through all the trouble to customize it. It is an absolute pain to use now.
Tried to take advantage of the 20% offer. The app said we could use it at the store but when we got here the cashier said we could only use it online, not in the store. I had to cancel the order I gave the cashier and then spend 10 minutes placing the order online. After all of that, the online app didn't even have the sandwich I wanted. TERRIBLE custome service!
this app is the worst. No problem making an order, but impossible to check out. My profile shows multiple credit cards on file, but none are available to use for checkout. When I add a new card and try to check out, the app gives a useless error message and will not let you check out. Adding the new card multiple times results in the same card being added to my profile multiple times, but none are available at checkout. Super frustrating. We had to move to the website to place an order
This is purely for the new app (7/30/25). There is nothing good here. You've taken out the ability to order at the table, I can no longer order cucumbers on my sandwich, the menu categories take ages to open, you've added about 20 extra touches or clicks to customize and complete an order, It takes almost as much time to place an order as wait in line for the 25 people ahead of you. Please bring back the old app and tableside ordering.
I made my first in-app order today. I've had the app for several years but always use it in store. Unfortunately, the 20% off coupon code requires in-app use even though it says you can use it in store and even gives you the 3D barcode. Upon using the app it became very cumbersome losing everything I had selected over and over. Including the table assignment which was still never corrected. The best part was when I went to pay that was cumbersome too. And then it charged a hidden fee..
