Every time you start this app, you have to find and connect your DLNA DAC, open Qobuz, select what to play.... It's such a silly app in the 21st century ... Why not just start your app and play recent track from the recent queue on a recent device? Or just connect your Bluetooth buds and hit to continue to listen to the last track from the place you paused it?
Reviews for mconnect Player – Cast AV
← Back to mconnect Player – Cast AVI love the fact that I can play tidal master quality from my smartphone, but the UI needs some improvements. When i press a song in the middle of a playlist, start that playlist from that song and onwards, not only that song. Add a "play next" feature. In shuffle-mode, the play queue should display the actual order of the songs. As of now, whenever i manually add songs to queue, the app just shuts down when the first song is completed (on yamaha rxa-2060).
I wish it would work as intended Interface is good, ease of use is Good.. On the face if it, it's a great app, but... You are able to listen to about 3 tracks until it crashes down. What good is a music controller app if it doesn't let you enjoy your music.
MConnect Simply fantastic! As someone who designed software, it always struck me as clunky and not well thought out. What I once thought was clunky is now streamlined and very easy to use. On an Android phone, using Qobuz, it's practically perfect. It's fast! The sound quality is very smooth and detailed. Gapless playback and Autoplay work as intended. If you're using Qobuz, spend the $6 as the app is well worth it.
Purchased the app a couple days ago and found it excellent value for what I paid for. Features and operating are handy for my music streaming on Tidal. What the shortcoming I found at this stage is that music files I store on Tidal cannot be played continously in sequence. When one file finishes, I have to mannualy select another music file.
Pros - Able to stream Tidal MQA tracks with great sound quality Cons - Sometimes doesn't play the next track in queue (Have to press pause/play to fix). Sometimes lose connection with my device. I use a wired connection and have verified it's not a network issue. Definitely 5 stars if these bugs are resolved
Using mconnect for Quobuz & Tidal streaming via Raspberry Pi4 using MoOde o/s. Very pleased with mconnect app. Like the way it integrates with my Quobuz and Tidal playlists and facilitates very Hi-Res playback. I'm sure it won't suit every person and I'm not technical enough to know what it lacks but it works for me and I'm loving the music sound quality.
This was problematic from day one. I even thought to buy a new phone, thinking that maybe Android wasn't suited. Today after trying and trying to get the Chord Mojo 2 coupled with the Chord Poly to work, and having prior to that installed a 512gb card, I was tired. I searched and found an app that I install, and boum, it worked directly, even though I didn't know how that app worked. I'm glad. I will ask for a refund if possible for the Mconnect
I have been using the Lite version and just switched to the full version. I think this is great. It turned my Oppo UDP-205 into a Tidal streaming, MQA decoding and fantastic sounding component. I ami listening to all kinds of new music in super high fidelity sound. All it took was this little 6 dollar app. Wow. Magnificent. Cool. ☺
Player closes at the end of the current track if it doesn't have focus - either by switching to another app, or by switching off the screen to save battery. It also seems to limit output to 48khz when my Chromecast Audio can receive 96khz. Please help because the app is great otherwise. Only switched from Lite version to rectify this problem - it didn't. Hoping the developers see this and reply.
i just downloaded the MConnect player. It was very easy to set it up and connect to my Tidal account and to my Cyrus steamer but the songs stutter when I play tracks with high resolution (>1500kbps). if the resolution is lower then i have no issue. i do not have issue either when I play the same song on the Tidal app (but in that case i can not connect it to my steamer)... The steamer can manage higher resolution FLAC files without any issue when I stream it via MConnect player from my NAS
It works well with HQplayer and moode as renderers... until I get a notification on my phone, at which point it drops the audio steam and needs restarted. Seems like it can't differentiate between needing to pause playback when playing locally vs using a renderer -------edit------- it appears that this is a conflict with my Samsung phone and mconnect. I have installed on an old tablet and it appears to function much better (although I have still turned off notifications on the tablet
if apps dont work as they should then they should refund your money. as you can see the developers dont care because they wont even respond to a review. wont even play one song without stopping...
At first I didn't really like the interface much. Then I used a competitor version, but recently had problems logging on to Qobuz and 501 errors, longer playlists would cause my streamer to lockup, requiring reboot and dac off / on. I switched to mConnect and have found it fabulously fast, easy to use and no 501 errors or Streamer crashes. I can load as big a playlist as I like, play it, jump about, never a problem. Discover Qobuz etc works fine. The app clears the queue when closed👍 Happy.
Streams Tidal in Hi Res to upmpdcli (Linux) without loosing sync. Also, plays Hi Res Tidal on locally (USB) attached DAC in the original bitrate (without conversion). Comprehensive and simple interface.
Since the last update, there are more things I don't like. The new tidal api is very sluggish. Maybe twice as slow as before. Only 50 songs are loaded in the favorite song section on the tidal, and you need to scroll down through the entire list to load it in the playlist. It's very hard and takes a long time, especially if you have more than, say, 500 songs. And we all mostly have more .. Please correct these errors, because the application has potential.
It's fast, but search is very basic, little or no meta data, gapless play has stopped working, I've paid but would love to see some improvements. It doesn't crash. It would be good if it had more finesse when triggering streams, as it's sometimes like a stylus landing heavily on a record. I'm hoping things will improve. It hasn't been a year and only seen one update, I think.
last updates on the 7th to this and lite render it useless..needs sorting ASAP. And the rating can go up again then. it was superb by the way as it was
I used the app on my iPad, and it worked fine, so I decided to buy the Android version. Unfortunately, it doesn’t recognise my two Chromecast devices: one is the Wiim Ultra, and the other is the Primare i35 Prisma. Additionally, UPNP doesn’t work, making the app unusable for me. Fix it please .
Please add ability to add a track to favorites on Tidal from the player. right now I have to search on Tidal for the track and manually add it, a hassle. Also needs "play from this point onward" and proper Google home voice control (can't even do "next track"). with these features I might give this 5 stars and would also pay significantly more. Still, a great value. Only other app I know of that can cast Tidal Masters is Roon and it requires a PC running its software, which costs hundreds of $.
