Reviews for Metronome: Tempo

← Back to Metronome: Tempo

Useful for a variety of endeavors, including helping to pick out music for ice dance teams (find a 130 BPM waltz! need a tango that's 108 BPM!) Also, totally worth the small cost to NOT have the app track/send my data.

The app works perfectly fine but there is one big difference between this app and the same app on the apple app store that loses 3 stars. The problem is that there is no option to make the screen flash with the metronome. If this feature is added then I will give 5 stars.

App works well but it is a bit time consuming/frustrating to set up so I developed a procedure to create set lists in a computer. Now it's much easier to configure and use for a gig.

Missing some Odd Time Signatures I wanted to make a preset to practice to some 7/8, 3/16 and other unusual things, but it was not possible. Had to uninstall, because that is what I'm studying right now. Otherwise, the app usage is great. Hope you implement a custom time signature feature.

Please increase the font size! The new version features a new font that is finer, thinner and harder to read. The old version font was perfect. Perhaps under "settings" you could introduce different font options for those like me who need glasses!

Would be a great metronome app if bugs were fixed (it hasn't been updated in since 2021). Changes to playlists are often not saved and the basic practice mode jumps around to different tempos when you finish a round.

Long-time user and lover of this app. It would be fantastic if there was a way to randomly mute clicks during practice, and to freely choose the subdivisions of odd time signatures without having to double/quadruple the tempo as a workaround.

Updated: nice UI! Happy about more time signatures. Accent changes are good in that the metronome keeps going even if you change accents. My score digital metronome. Even sounds nice! STILL NEEDS A POLYRHYTHM FEATURE! March 2017: 2 stars... Good basic metronome... But Apple has some FANTASTIC features... which this does not have. My favorite and most needed feature is the Polyrhythm metronome.

I had fantastic experience with this metronome. It is reliable, configurable and can go down to 10 BPM. It is versatile and you can use it for many purposes. I saw two reviews giving 1 star - ridiculous complainers! This is the best metronome app I have seen, for my kind of usage. I desire that more people should use & gain from it. Reviewers should not be so petulant. This app can be configured & the complaints were not valid.

Best metronome I've found so far. What is missing though is 7/8 and also it would be amazing if we could program how long a specific type of mode (4/4 or 3/4, etc.) and/or tempo should go on until it changes. This would be extremely helpful in playing medleys with the metronome

This is what I needed.. for my exercises! I hate counting reps, I feel like I count all the time, and I'm tired of counting and wish I could just focus solely on what I'm doing and still know I've accomplished what I'm aiming for.. which I can now do with this app by setting my movements to the beats and a timer to which will stop the metronome, and meaning I'm done my set. I really like the flash screen feature for if I want the sound off and still be able to track my movements. Very clean.

Incredible app on Apple. Here it's nearly identical, but it's missing the option to add from any setlist. If that feature is in the app, I can't find it. With nearly weekly setlists I play, that feature is vital. Hopefully it's added to the Android version here, which will take this app to 5 stars!

Great functions in this app but what it needs is a library function that you can create set lists from. For now I have a set list will all the songs my band plays and for a particular gig I have to share the list, reimport it and then remove the tracks I don't need. It's very cumbersome and time consuming.

Absolutely brilliant app - some small adjustments or improvements needed. I find on my Samsung S24 the light flash and the sound are not tightly locked. This might be due to cpu differences from the Android this app was programmed on. Please think about some way of putting an offset adjustment. At present the flash is slightly late. Electronic organs and programmable drum machines have a RED flash on beat 1 and then a different colour for the other beats.

I've recently switched to Android from iOS and was happy to see this app here as well. But unfortunately it's missing some fairly critical features around playlists. For starters, why can't I search for songs? It seems like a massive miss to exclude this feature. Also, why can't I add songs to a playlist from other playlists? More than willing to drop 5 stars for those features.

I purchased the ad-free version for Android for my cell phone and my tablet. I need info on how to take a full catalog of songs I imported into Tempo and create set lists by choosing which songs from that full catalog to put into the set lists for upcoming gigs. If this is possible, I haven't found out how to do it or where to go for some actual guidance on using the app. Right now I'm creating 3 set lists from the start, even though I have a master set list of all the songs in our repertoire.

Best one I've found, with just a few annoyances: 1. The flashing lights take *far* too much screen space, which leaves hardly any space for the setlist! The lights can be literally 1/4 of the height and it would be fine. 2. The navigation in general is bonkers - like really unhinged in places! I defy anyone to work out how to edit a song without getting utterly confused. 3. In "gig" mode, the fact that you can accidentally edit your set list (including the BPMs!) is completely inexcusable when there is a "rehearsal" mode as well. Playing live? Write out a set list with the track BPMs on it as a back up, because this app will one day f* you up on stage. So in summary: a usability-free zone, but But APART from that, comparatively good.

Giving this app 1 star review solely because I have a support issue associated with importing a setlist, and I've reported it twice on the main helpsite and once directly to the developer by email and received not a jot of assistance. If your sharing functionality doesn't work, it's not what its supposed to be. If I can't collaborate with band colleagues I'm not interested - and yes, I did pay for it. If the support people deign to contact me, I'll work with you - but I'm expecting to grow old waiting.

So far, so good. It fits my needs. The only issue is that I have to repurchase it. Originally, I bought it via the Amazon Appstore, but it never got updated, so I can't install it on my new tablet (with a higher OS version). I searched and found it on the Google Play Store, and the price is reasonable. It's cheaper than most metronome apps, and the features meet my needs. Thanks!

I run this on a standalone tablet. A few times now it's stopped because it needs an Internet connection ! At gigs in remote locations that has basically rendered it useless! Needs to be fixed very soon as I've now started looking for an alternative.
