So here's my take on Music Folder Player Full. I've tested a bunch of music player apps and this one stands out for its folder-centric approach. In my experience, it works really well if you have a large music library and you want more control over how it's organized. The interface takes some getting used to, but once you figure it out, it's pretty powerful. The main downside is that some of the features feel a little half-baked, like the playlist creation. But overall, if you're tired of the typical artist/album view, this is a really solid alternative.

Pros

  • Lets you browse and play music by folder, not just playlists
  • Handy home screen widgets to quickly access your music
  • Virtual folder for adding your most-played songs
  • Decent playlist support, though could be better

Cons

  • Interface can be a little clunky and not pretty intuitive at first
  • Some features feel unfinished or underdeveloped
  • Might not be the best option if you don't have your music super organized

Description

I’ve been using Music Folder Player Full for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you play your music based on the folders you have it organized in, instead of just doing the usual artist/album/playlist view. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you can do – you can browse your music by folder, there’s a ‘virtual folder’ that lets you add your favorite songs, and you can even make playlists if you want. It’s got some cool widgets for your home screen too. Took me a while to figure out how to use some of the features, but they’re actually pretty useful once you get the hang of it.

Look, if you’re the type of person who likes to keep your music super organized in folders, you’ll probably really dig this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does the job and gets the music playing. Worth checking out if that’s your thing.

Latest update (3.1.36) finally resolves many irritating bugs. Great job.

My favourite music player by far. I already have all of my music set up in folders, including one that I place all my favourite tracks in, so I don't...

After an update (Oct 22) tracks do not advance when screen is off and you're using a Bluetooth speaker -- like in a vehicle. Emailed support but heard nothing back....
