So here's my honest take on nanoloop. I've tried a bunch of music apps and this one's pretty impressive. The synth engine is really versatile, you can get some great sounds out of it. And the sampling/resampling tools are super useful. Doesn't have every feature under the sun but it covers the essentials really well. Not gonna lie, it took me a while to figure out all the different menus and settings, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze to use. Definitely one of the more full-featured mobile music apps I've seen.

Pros

  • Tons of synth and sampling capabilities packed into a mobile app
  • Customizable interface with adjustable fonts, icons, and themes
  • Handles audio export to WAV and Ogg Vorbis really well
  • Runs smoothly even on older/cheaper phones and tablets

Cons

  • Steep learning curve, not the most beginner-friendly
  • Can get a bit cluttered with all the features and options
  • Ads are kind of annoying if you don't pay for the pro version

Description

I’ve been using nanoloop for a couple months now. It’s basically a complete sequencer, synth, and sampler app made for mobile devices. Pretty solid if you’re into making music on the go.

Here’s what you can do: there’s an easy-to-use sequencer for rhythm and melody, you can automate all the parameters, and it’s got 8 channels that can be synths or samplers. It’s got a built-in sample library but you can also load your own samples from the SD card or record straight from the mic. The interface is really customizable too – you can adjust the font, icons, and color scheme.

Look, if you’re into music production apps, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the initial learning curve is a bit steep and the ads can get annoying – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a powerful mobile music studio.

A fun and relatively easy to use sequencer and sampler. It definitely helps to have prior experience with step sequencers. It is pretty robust for how small the app is....

quite fun to use - would love to see: 1) the ability to use all instruments as samplers, not just the last two 2) pitch quantization/scales, so randomizing pitch would...
