A fun and relatively easy to use sequencer and sampler. It definitely helps to have prior experience with step sequencers. It is pretty robust for how small the app is. I've already spent 30 minutes just having fun with it and I definitely haven't gotten to any of the deepest features yet.
Reviews for nanoloop
← Back to nanoloopquite fun to use - would love to see: 1) the ability to use all instruments as samplers, not just the last two 2) pitch quantization/scales, so randomizing pitch would all fall within the same scale, for better melody generation 3) 32nd note grid resolution possibility
Damn, I was hesitant at first but this is amazing! Super intuitive app, very nice sounds, great design... And like, for a couple of bucks it brings a lot of value in the table! Feels like I can make beats on the fly easier than I would with a hardware groovebox! Congrats!
Love it its simple and fun to mess with using the touch interface. There are basically no other music apps that use the touch interface this well. I love it for making little sound effects, and I've made all my ringtones and notification sounds in this app.
Galaxy S10 Lite - the app used to work perfectly on my galaxy s7 edge but now when using it on my updated S10L, the notes are major delayed. Like a second delayed.. making it hard to make music.. I was well enjoying the app because I love chip based music and I'm looking to make my own games n such with my own talent.. anywhoo. Greatest app nevertheless, when its working and you can get to grips with it
Absolutely phenomenal app and probably one of my most used apps period. Definitely worth the asking price. My only request would be support for mp3 and FLAC in the sampler, but otherwise I have zero complaints whatsoever.
The app does not respond correctly to the touch screen on the sequencer grid page. Impossible to change pitch now. I probably logged 5 or 6 hours on it and was just getting a handle on the song mode and sampler. Suddenly stopped responding to touch. Disappointing. I ve tried uninstalling and rebooting phone and reinstalling. Now impossible to program patterns. Very frustrating because if it worked the way intended it would be great...
Split screen not working. I love this app but with the most recent update I can't run it split screen. Great app though. Five star Edit: I feel like there used to be a manual or tutorial, too. Where'd they go? I was looking for details on the synthesis methods and their gui parameters.
Edit: gotten the hang of /dir feature :) now time to organize my samples. Really starting to master FM bass! Have been a Nanoloop user for 10 years now and don't plan on changing that! However these newer updates (using /dir on Android) aren't necessarily the most intuitive or functional. I Miss the previous function for searching samples and projects. And sometimes my app crashes and it's never happened before. Is there a way to revert to the original version before this newest update?
As a musician & producer, I bought Nanoloop 1 or 2 years ago, & have never used an App which I've found to be so unuser-friendly, & with such a lack of information or inspiration for creating anything. Everytime I return to it for accustomisation, it feels like very hard work for no reward. I feel a bit cheated that I had to pay for this, to be honest.
This is the best music app I've found. The interface can be a bit unintuitive at the very start, but once you understand it it's quite easy to use. It allows you to record samples with your phone and instantly integrate them into a song, which is super fun.
Amazing. Once you have played with it for an hour or so, you can get pretty creative. Great for musical doodling. Almost as good as the Pocket Operator hardware units. Please add live effects. Have been using the inbuilt synths, and loading samples. Both work very well.
Loving this tracker easy and fun to use with lots of hidden potential. A few gui, system and memory issues. Can't seem to load some .nan files on my app? Is there a cap of 20 files? Would love some updates for nanoloop a few more editing options for the sampler. You definitely benefit from knowledge of synthesizers and maths. Uncertain of what the values of each setting correlate to as are diferent to the values i've used in other daws (256 value range) what value is the lfo measured in hertz??
This was the first android app I ever paid money for. Legendary from the Gameboy days, I couldn't wait to try it! It is excellent! Unfortunately these days you get a warning screen about compatibility and support, but the apps seems to work on my new pixel 6a as of October 1 2022! I'd love a follow-up!
I can hardly believe i didn't see this before. It is brilliant. I write alot of music on the go and this is the perfect tool. Along with LSDJ this is surely going to be a 'go to' for like minded musicians for a long while to come. Fantastic work - and thankyou!
I have really enjoyed my time with NanoLoop. But there is a huge problem I have with it, I have to use a older phone running Android Oreo to use it. On my Moto G Power the play head that shows where you are in the song is delayed greatly. This ruins the experience of trying to jam with it, like watching a concert with mistimed light shows. I soley keep my old phone for NanoLoop, but getting an update to just fix this one problem would make it 5/5. If it works for you that is great have fun!
phenomenal music making app. very intuitive ui and it only took me a few hours of messing around to reveal a surprising amount of control over the sounds and looping structures. there are a few limitations but i feel that finding ways around these helps with the creative process. i have written loops on here which end up making their way onto tracks im writing for an album, extremely impressed with the sound quality when exporting from the headphone jack. ive been waiting for an app like this!!!
Haven't left a review before but had to for this! Probably the best £3 I've ever spent. Sure there are limitations...but it isn't a DAW. Once I got my head around that I learned to love the tools nanoloop does give youm. The workflow is really unique and the whole setup is really easy to learn. It's great for throwing together ideas and creating loops to play along with or stick in a bigger project. Would recommend for all musicians or anyone who has some time to kill.
Really fun little app with an intuitive interface. Probably powerful enough that you could make pretty nice sounding music out of it, but I think it's probably better for building little jams in spare time. Synth engines sound good, and sample recirding is also not bad. I do wish that I could apply filters etc to samples, and I'd love more freedom to drive parameters with LFOs, but otherwise great. Creativity loves constraints as they say.
Whilst the UI might seem intimidating at first it's actually very intuitive. Press and hold on any element to get help text. Once you get to grips with it you'll realise that it's enormously powerful and a lot of fun. You have 4 sound engines: pulsewidth, FM, noise and sampler. The sampler allows you to record your own sounds through the microphone or load WAVs. Once you've got some quality loops you can put them into the tracker to create your song, it's so much quicker than a traditional arrangement view. There's loads of nice touches like pattern shift and pattern length which allow you to easily create variations and polyrhythms. I spent an entire 2.5 hour plane journey jamming on this app. Highly recommended.
