So here's my honest take on Neutron Music Player. I've tested a bunch of music apps and this one's definitely one of the more powerful ones. The audio quality is fantastic, and I love that you can use it with external DACs and streaming devices. But the interface is a bit overwhelming at first - took me a while to figure out all the settings and features. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind. Overall though, I'd say it's a great option if you really care about getting the best sound possible on your phone.

Pros

  • Outputs high-res audio directly to your device's DAC
  • Tons of advanced DSP effects to play with
  • Lets you stream music to Chromecast and other devices
  • Free to use, no need to pay for the good features

Cons

  • Interface can be confusing and takes time to learn
  • Some features are hidden or not super intuitive
  • Might be overkill if you're not an audio enthusiast

Description

Been using Neutron Music Player for a couple months now. It’s basically an advanced music player with some really cool features for audiophiles. Pretty solid app if you’re into high-quality audio.

Here’s what you can do – it’s got this Neutron HiFi audio engine that outputs hi-res audio straight to your device’s DAC. There’s also a bunch of DSP effects you can play with. And it even lets you send audio to Chromecast and other streaming devices, which is pretty neat. Took me a while to figure out all the options but it’s a really powerful app once you get the hang of it.

Look, if you’re an audio nerd who wants the best sound quality, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a bit confusing at first – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’re into that kind of thing.
