Love NewsMax, my favorite way to get my news. However, the new subscription doesn't allow me to Chromecast to my TV. I am happy to subscribe, but I have to be able to cast to my TV. Although, I do think having a subscription will significantly hurt the viewership. Bad timing on implementation of a paid service. People can afford food right now. Very unfortunate.

EVERYTIME I try to open Newsmax, it makes me login and it is quite frustrating. Never had this problem when the service was free. With that said, I expect the app to work better when it becomes a pay service. I am happy to support a real news outlet, but this makes it difficult. I really hope they fix it soon.
I want to cancel my subscription. This new app is awful. I have to constantly re-login every couple of days. When I move my apple TV to one of my other tvs I don't even get the sign in option, just the activate for the 14 day trial. Speaking of the 14 day trial I was billed after 7 days. This just isn't worth being charged at all, especially since there are still advertisers that should generate enough income to make this a free app.
Edit Nov 17: The Play Store app, the FireTV app, and their website CONTINUALLY crash and buffer. Checked my internet speed, the problem isn't on my end. It's them. Was considering paying the sub fee to watch, but I won't be if this is what I'm paying for. ---------- When the app works, it's great. Sometimes the app just crashes or outright doesn't even open. I have the same trouble with the FireTV app too. I can play live TV on the Newsmax website...but the app isn't always reliable.
Since the change over on 11/1/23 we have had nothing but problems! Cannot get Newsmax plus on our new TV. Loaded it into our phones for a trial, but Cannot cancel! This is the most frustrating app ever! If we did not like Newsmax so much we wouldn't be going through this. Where is the help phone number? Where is the phone number to cancel the app on your phone? FRUSTRATED!!
I used to really love Newsmax and the people on their network. (I really preferred them to Fox). Had absolutely no problems. Then they went to Newsmax+... The app is completely useless. It doesn't work my phone, Firestick, or computer. If you were going to charge for your service, make sure it works before initiating any such platform. I would love to come back, but not until it is fixed. Please fix it.
I can't believe you're charging me for this service. EVERYTIME I turn it on, it doesn't work....keeps buffering or makes you restart the app and having to enter all your credentials one digit at a time. Makes you want to throw your remote through the TV screen! Giving it another month then canceling if you can't get this right!. ....update...save your money. Canceling my subscription MAYBE I'll try again in the Fall. Couldn't wait the month
Whoever wrote the version of this app for Android should be immediately fired! Buggy, nothing seems to work as it should, constantly having to log back in and then only being able to watch Newsmax 2. This is an excellent example of taking a wonderful app that works flawlessly and effing it up beyond all recognition. Audio only stream is not available. If you want to compete with Fox News you have to have an audio stream so that people can listen in their car.
I'm on an LG smart tv and it keeps saying something went wrong and I have to clear the data and manually sign in. It didn't used to do this. Started about a week or 2 ago. Deleted and reinstalled the app. No change. Clearly I'm not the only one reporting this problem. Also, sign in screen isn't a standard keyboard and says I have three different profiles with the same name once I sign in. I hope someone's on it because I don't see myself paying for this service much longer, in its current state.
I paid for this app for the year because I like newsmax. I have had nothing but trouble. Half the time it takes 20 minutes to log in. Once in I have often been cut off. Today I tried for 30 minutes. I am still not in. Before newsmax +, I had no trouble getting on or watching my favorites at another time. Now I can not get on. I missed Gorda last night & all I could get was a month old broadcast. I am very disappointed. Please help!
This app is horrible. Every time this app is used, the app freezes with a lag-loop. The video freezes, and the audio loops back 10 seconds. When the audio reaches the video freeze point, the stream continues. Then, the cycle repeats continuously, every 20 seconds, until the top of the hour when the next program begins. All of the content in between is lost, too. What the hell, people? Fix this !! There are 5 other problems & I don't have enough characters Where's the option to get my $50 back?
I used to watch News Max morning... What happened to "download the app, it's free"??? One of the best places for me to get the news, is now falling into the same trap all other apps are in... Paid subscriptions!!! Then the app crashes when I try to get to the subscription page to see how much??? I wouldn't have paid for something you always advertised as "free" anyway. But absolutely NOT for something that doesn't work either. Congrats on taking one step closer to being like the others!
GREAT CONTENT! Which is why I give it 3 stars. The problems lie with the app freezing, restarting, and the audio being "off target" meaning the words don't match up with the mouths. Personally, I don't care much about the audio being "off" since I usually just listen to this app while I'm driving. But the app constantly freezing and closing and restarting makes it impossible to be a "hands-free" app in the car. This is big and seems like it would be an easy fix since most news apps don't do it
The app provides accurate & unbiased news however, after reading a news story & hitting the"back" button it returns to the opening shell... not where you left off - the app didn't used to do this, so something changed. This is most inconvenient. I notified newsmax about this software bug, and they indicated their IT group would look into it. It's been over a month... no changes, so I removed it from my phone. If I don't use their app, then l don't see their ads. Hence, they make less $$.
This is my absolute trusted news source, but the new app is absolute garbage! You guys did better when it was free. Constant delays, and when it does catch up, you've missed part of what was said, if the app even loads at all! That's just part of it. And I'm paying for this???? I think, as much as I don't want to, that I'll unsubscribe until you can figure it out. So very disappointed
Not happy so far. The default settings to subtitles is ridiculous. Every time I turn it on! I go to bed early, so I watch all the evening programs in the selection of episodes. Every one has subtitles! I cannot advance through commercials easily like I used to. And if this site was like 'Netflix' I would have no commercials. What am I paying for? BTW. No Greta or Rob Schmidt in the que!? Mark me disappointed!
I have never experienced the trouble I have put up with since downloading this newsmax app. I can't watch a program on time without having to send a email complaining about the issues I'm having, and then like magic it comes on. They have tried on 2 different occasions to take $39.99 out of my account for an subscriptions I signed up to pay $4.99 for. Now when I try to open the app, the homepage opens and then closes. I get email's to complete my sign up, but I have a conformation number.
When I was streaming for free I never had a single problem with the app, ever. Now that I'm actually paying for plus I can't watch it half the time. Literally every hour I get kicked out with some ridiculous message about the content not being part of my subscription or it just being unavailable. I have so many problems with it not wanting to load at all and when it does actually work it's so laggy..always buffering and the audio is off. Will definitely be cancelling if this is not fixed soon!
App doesn't work properly. I am continuously having to clear data and then I have to sign back in. No easy way to sign in. You have to put in email and password every time. Not like other apps with just a code. I paid for a year but I may have to cancel at the end if this isn't fixed. Love the shows and news and never had an issue with the free version. Please fix this as we watch Newsmax all evening.
5 ***** for the programs but have to give 3 *** because I'm constantly getting "Something went wrong when trying to load the stream. (Error Code F09)" or similar messages and I'm missing important information!!! And of course this rarely, if ever, happens during any commercials. I never once had this problem when NewsMax was free, but it's a constant issue since NewsMax went to a PAID format. I've sent messages to NewsMax but have yet to hear back.
