Reviews for Noom: Weight Loss & Health

← Back to Noom: Weight Loss & Health

I've been using this app since April. the lessons are pretty interesting, and the food and weight tracking work. part of the program allows for "treat days" to be scheduled after you have earned them through app use. they constantly fail to work properly. I scheduled 9 days in June for a vacation, and they didn't work properly. it instead removed all my banked days. it then had the same glitch in August for a single day. their technical team doesn't help with the issue, nor does "live support"

inaccurate step counter. 1GB file size? Don't pay full price! Why even track calories when the database provided by noom is more often incorrect? Depending on how you type or scan a UPC it can change the calories. Their manual entry method is severely dated.... You have rotate a drum and rotate and rotate to finally get the right calories. They don't listen to feedback. Lessons can't be reviewed without going back to the day you did (hope you saved it). No summaries of what you've studied.

so I had a problem. I couldn't (and still can't) input my steps manually. so I wrote a review and they responded immediately. Their solution didn't help (just reinstall) and I still can't manually alter my step count. very frustrating and throws off my calorie count. Now, no one answers my emails and the issue is still unresolved. Very disappointed. otherwise great, but without this fixed, GREATLY diminishes my value in it, as I move a lot and don't always have my phone in my pocket.

I overall like this app, but there seems to be a big problem with the step tracking feature. I gave it permission to track my steps 2 days ago and I noticed there was often a notification about it syncing my steps. Well this morning I woke up to a message from my mobile carrier telling me I was out of data for the month, only a week in! After some digging, I discovered that the Noom app had eaten 8 gigs of data in those 2 days. So yeah, maybe don't give it permission to track your movement.

I love Noom, I've been using it for almost a year!! Understanding the psychology behind why we eat is very important and Noom helps with that. (Recent Update) I really don't like all the extra pop-ups & animations that happen after you put your weight in or when you log your meal. It's super annoying and when you try to bypass it, it freezes the app sometimes.

I've been using Noom off and on for 6 years - started in 2019 with the subscription model and switched to free mode once I hit my weight loss goals. I liked the app for its ease of use with the food logging system and exercise tracking. Over the years the app has gotten more difficult to integrate with my activity watches and this latest update is awful, imo. I hate having to describe or take photos of my food for logging. Just give me the option to enter my meals manually again.

I'm pretty happy with it. the food logging is as painless as I've ever used, and as I'm using the medical services too - I have decent interaction and support available to me through both human teams and an AI menu assistant, if I want it. I don't use all of the features available, but I use most of them daily, including the lessons, which have proven informative. The app also hooks up to my Garmin, for movement information.

New version is a disaster. I had the paid plan awhile back and it was great. I rejoined under the free plan. Every time I open it, it takes me through all the "Get to know you questions" AGAIN. My responses are still there, but I still have to click through every one. But by far, the worst part is the removal of food lists. Now your food logging choices are: 1. Take a photo of the food; 2. Use voice to tell it what you ate; 3. Type in the food description and quantity. I'm out.

Recently discovered that the app does not always account for calories or nutrient proportions correctly, which defeats the entire purpose of the app in terms of food logging. Support have also not been helpful, in that they keep giving me trouble shooting options that simply don't address this issue. It's not a bug, it's a faulty feature, on an app with a very expensive subscription. I found this out after buying a whole year (close to £160), and am extremely disappointed

I'm really disappointed that some features that were part of the free version are no longer available unless you subscribe. You're adding a barrier for those that don't have the funds. I can't correct my starting weight, which i entered incorrectly, I cannot enter a new weight, or go back a day and see how I did it add things I missed because it was a busy day. I do like the newer features of body scan and taking photos of your meals to get calorie count, those are really helpful.

Wanted to try this program, but after trying to sign up 3 times, I STILL can't log into the app, which, when I use my correct email and password, tells me "Oh no! That email requires Facebook login!" I don't want to use Facebook to login, and even if I DO click on that option, it doesn't do anything! Ridiculous! I'm canceling my trial once again, which is probably best after I came here and read the reviews. Going over to the Weight Watchers website to see if I have better luck there!

Dec 10 24 edit Now the app is stuck on the white screen with black circle.Uninstalled/reinstalled..still frozen. I've lost weight but also my patience/money. Original review: Too much $ for an app needs more work/fixes. I have been reporting wrong calories for soooo many items, and none have been fixed. They dont even gove you a space to put the updated nutritional facts when you report it is wrong. The barcode reader/camera is often out of focus. It quickly to type and search.

Ive been enjoying the app -nots reallympolished and considered in a lot of places but then really buggy in a lot of others. For the price- this should be a lot smoother. Main issues have been past body scans failing to load, without clearing app data. Also my Fitbit integration fails for unknown reasons after a week or so and it seems impossible to get it to sync again. How many times must I enable data sharing for it to stop working or not work at all? When those things work : it's great.

Idk. I appreciate the accountability that paying for the account gives me and I would like to appreciate the program in total, but my phone updated and now I cannot even open the app and honestly that is making me want to give up. Cancel my subscription and everything, which is really disappointing. It was going pretty well, but at a week in I'm in a little slump, I suppose, and then I cannot log anything and I feel like I'm gonna fall off the wagon. Awkward. If the app has less bugs, great.

Updated review on 8/2/25 version 13.24.0 Sadly the Progress page freezes now. My Progress report has been ready for a week now, yet I cannot access it and a new one hasn't started. The whole page freezes, and I have to exit the app and restart it. This has happened only since I recently updated. Also the "weight maintained" pop- up is irritating. I long ago reached my 60 lb. weight loss goal, and don't weigh every day, so i enter same number each day. i know how to maintain my weight, lol

This app is expensive for what it is, a calorie counting tool. Some articles interesting & useful. However, despite the fact that Noom is all about teaching you how to eat healthy, the only thing that affects your target to reach your weight loss for each day is calories. High fiber, low sugar granola is the same as a cookie. They are the same even in the food color categories assigned. There are a lot of features available for apple not for Android. Many tools like barcode scan don't work well

The first time I used Noom, during the pandemic, it was super insightful and easy to use. Its interface is still pretty good, but I am so frustrated at the bugginess of the app. I am currently trying to keep tabs on my protein intake (which I only just realized was at about 25% of what it should be, as a woman in my 40s who is very active) and even when I edit food items in the app, I don't seem to ever get accurate data. My experience now is nowhere near what it was a few years ago.

This app could be great, but I think as it is, it is highly likely to lead many astray. I love the lessons and food color system, but disagree with some food color assignments. More importantly though, if I ate in what they call the weight loss zone I would maybe lose a half pound of weight per week. But worse, if I add movement like swimming, they up my zone accordingly, but they give way too many calories for the exercise, so then if I followed it, I would be eating more than I am burning.

The app is useful in tracking your data and informing you on healthier habits. But entering in that data is tedious. Their database on food is limiting, and I have to spend a lot of my time looking it up through online sources. Not even talking about home cooked meals, but fast food and prepackaged food. When the app works, it's great. But I find the app has trouble loading. Today, it crashed several times, and I was forced to uninstalled/reinstalled in hopes that it would fix the issue.

helpful, but once you lose about 15 lbs it doesn't help you continue the weight loss journey. I liked the app until I went on vacation and couldn't enter my calorie intake for the day due to a lack of internet. I lost about 15lbs and stabilized but can't loose more or stay consistent. The calorie tracking seems off and not perfect. I feel like just finding a calorie-counting app that is free is just as good. Noom, although a great start, is false in its advertisement.
