Reviews for Orthodox Bible & Calendar

This app helps me so much with my prayers and bible study when I'm traveling,I recommend it.

This for the most part is a good app. I like the way"all books of the OT are included.A few issues - when you get daily alerts the app just hangs. But one real let down for me is the audio Bible the way the narrator says the verse number of each verse which breaks continuity. Update Downloading again now since the verse issue has been resolved thanks so much for listening and sorting this :) 5 stars!

I purchased this app for listening to the Orthodox Bible, and I find the voice and tempo of the reader very soothing and peaceful 🙏 One issue that I was having was with the announcement of each verse number, but after reaching out to them I was informed that they actually are producing an updated version now without the verse numbers, and it should be ready soon. Glory to Jesus Christ!!! We are so grateful ☦️🙏

I'd like to see an auto-play feature for the scripture reading.

very helping as a person who lives in a non Christian country, finding an original version of the Bible is a pain, let alone for a free price. this app helped me to have access to this holy book and I wish the best for the developer who made it

New to Orthodoxy, coming from a Protestant background and the app has helped with learning prayers and beginning to learn the basic rhythms of the Orthodox Church. Very grateful to have this app as a tool to help learning and developing spiritual discipline and habits.

Great app, intuitive once you figure out how it's all set up after a few minutes. I just wish there was an offline mode, and an option for widgets on the home screen for daily readings! keep up the good work, God bless

Was hoping the book intros and annotations were included but looking forward to the daily prayers and other features

Great App. Easy to use and keeping it on my main screen is a constant reminder to pray!

I was baptized last year, and this app was my source of daily inspiration. I struggle with praying. It's hard for. The prayer section helps tremendously as I can focus on what's being said. One thing I could recommend, it would be the Jesus Prayer remembering my choice on reflection's length and whether or not I have the prayer being spoken aloud. Maybe the music in the reflections section and quiter in the Prayer section, too. It helps calm the ADD and autism so I can quiet my mind.

I like the app for reading purposes but the first time I got to listen I listened to chapter 1 and found out the rest is behind a pay wall and I understand that it's so they can make some money of this but I don't know it feels kinda weird to make a monthly subscription I fell you should be able to buy it once and get the thing like make the app cost money but no in app purchases but except that I feel that the app is really well made and a lot of effort was put into it but offline option is bad

wonderful app 4 the Orthodox Bible! it actually has the whole Bible not just study excepts. nothing wrong with having those but, coming from the new international Bible to the Orthodox is really quite enlightening. simple word differences have such profound meanings. it was the first time I sat down and read the Bible and it made sense. I can't explain it. I must sound crazy. beautiful app tho. i love the quotes of the Saint / reflections. & note taking for verses. well done!

my only problem with this app is the audio Bible after every chapter has to be played again to start the next chapter manually and it's too quiet for my phone normally otherwise great app

Overall it seems good. They make you pay for any real usable functions. Free version is very basic. They also have Paisios as a "Saint" which he's not in our Diocese/Synod. Besides that most of the daily quotes are good. Can only save 3 of them on the free version, which is pretty ridiculous pay to use model

My only complaint at this point is that I keep losing my spot when reading. I've been reading through Maccabees and trying to find my spot over and over and scrolling is patience building. The search feature isn't very convenient for this either. I'm reading through the book, not just one chapter. The app is convenient for reading in general, much less clunky than a whole hardcopy Bible. The daily encouragements are wonderful. Calendar 👍, too. Grateful there's an Orthodox app for us to use.🙏

Good app but it would be better if we could jump to specific verses. My favorite Protestant Bible app (starting Catechism) has two features which are so useful besides this. Not sure if it's doable but they are so helpful. 1. Single word or phrase search. Looking for a verse and you can only remember one or two words? It let's you see every verse where the word or phrase appears. 2. Bookmarking with multi folder capability. Great for storing verses on a specific topic for reference later.

I really enjoy this app but since the latest update, I am no longer receiving the daily inspirational messages, which I looked forward to every day. I then started the 7 day trial period for the year subscription so that I could I ask directly and when I go to leave that feedback, it tries to take me to email but won't work. Other than that, I love this app a lot! Update: After getting a hold of them, they were very prompt and courteous and helped me fix the issue. I highly recommend this app!

Best Orthodox Bible out there. Highly highly recommend getting the ad free version. Low one time cost and totally worth it. The makers are also quick to respond which surprised me. I had a question about the calendar and they answered all my questions. Skip the hassle of all the other Orthodox apps that dont work or are full of ads and just get this one. You won't regret it. I would like to see a bookmark on it so I can pick up where I left off reading. Glory be to God for this app! Thank you!

hmm, it would be excellent if it were red letters like the Protestants' bibles. easier access to bible chapters and as beautiful as the orthodox church is, this is an ugly layout, 3 icons to choose from, and can't make profiles even though you pay. profiles. if you have a server or some sort can allow people to put profile pics, catalog notes, time spent reading the Bible, etc.

I like daily inspirations, and when I have a choice to save them, there is no way to go to the ones you have saved to look back on. And when listening to the audio, and i choose the continuous reading it still stops after 5 verses and I have to hit play to continue. frustrating when trying to concentrate on the word, and having to stop to scroll through and find where it stopped and have to choose "play" again.
