I know I have to be aware of the time I bought, but I was counting with the apps feature of letting me know that the session was about to expire, but it actually sent a notification when I entered to the app or a few hours later after it expired. Thanks to this I had a ticket.

Today I was surprised when I realized the Yes and No were flipped on the final step when you confirm the time and payment information. if you use the app often, you get used to passively tapping "yes". Until now when the final tap is now a "no" so you're not activating the session. Beware! why this change? seems like a trap.

the only 2 things I would change is add a feature to the add time menu to set the exit time as an alternative option to just adding time. takes away the math if you know you're leaving at a certain time as well as with this app feature, it would be nice to be able to do more than 3 hours. most work days are 8 and that would eliminate the chance of missing a re up on your meter. otherwise it's a great option to pay your meter. thanks

used to send notifications on my Google Pixel, but has stopped doing so. received a parking ticket today as a result, and when I went into the notifications menu of my phone's settings, I don't even have the option to turn them "on" for this app. don't know when that change was made, but it was a terrible decision.

App charged me to park in an area and then I was fined $75 because there was a Bears game a mile away. This app will still allow you to pay even if you aren't allowed to park in some spots, but will also deny you if you're not able to park there. The issue is that they don't know which zones are which, creating a false expectation on where you can park legally. The app and the city aren't connected and due their utter incompetence, you will still get tickets and be fined. Predatory.

I cannot in good conscience give a rating above 1 star. I have only used the app twice to be fair. However, the first time that I used it I received a parking ticket one hour after I parked. The ticket itself had invalid parking spot details associated with my plate. The site states that you may view the photos. I was unable to view the ticket online because the ticket number I have does not start with '91'. So I get a message that reads the "ticket is not entered yet, try again in 24 hours".

The latest changes to the kiosks now require you to type in your plate number and state everytime you park. It's obvious that this company wants to make paying in-person as inconvenient as possible so that you have no choice but to download this app. The $0.35 fee for every transaction under 2 hours is absurd. Most of the time, I only need to park for 15 minutes, so the fee nearly doubles the price for me.

I hate that it doesn't work right on my Samsung the way it does on my iPhone. On iPhone, I get the notifications that the session is expiring soon. For some strange reason on Samsung, the notifications are blocked and I can't access them. It's really frustrating because I'm risking getting a ticket because it's not functioning right.

I should not have to get a flipping code texted to me to log in. And yet the system requires it just to LOG IN!!!!!! STUPID AND AUTOMATICALLY 1 STAR. I would give you 0 stars if I could. All I want to do is see if there is parking near where I want to go but I can't even look without giving you $20????? That I may never use!!!!! STUPID APP NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. And it gets better. I tried to log in with a different account and I had to ENTER A CREDIT CARD TO CHANGE????

Worked fine (is very user friendly) but it would be better if there was an option to end a session and get a refund for the time not used. Like if you pay the max (which can sometimes be $9.00 for 2 hours downtown), but only end up parked in that spot for 50 minutes, I would like to get back the money I spent for a spot I was only parked in not even half the time I paid for

I have a galaxy S23+ and I receive ZERO notifications once I minimize the Park Chicago app. I've reached out to the support team and they have not been able to fix the issue either. The only way I receive notifications is when I manually open the app and then all the reminders pop up (which defeats the purpose of having reminders that your parking is expiring).

Need to preload $20, which if you're just visiting for a few days is not very friendly. Also, I tried parking in 2 different areas to see a show. In both places I received a pop up saying that I could not park there - see posted signs for details. I could not find these parking restricting signs despite a thorough search.

This app always seems to glitch when I try to extend my time. I added more time to my meter and clicked on Yes to accept the new total. It seemingly went through but when I got to my car, lo and behold, I had a ticket. If people rely on your app to not get tickets, you should reimburse them when it fails.

This app works really well. I like what it offers. I'd give it a 4 star review if it weren't for one thing: the $0.35 "convenience fee" for every parking transaction under 2 hours. I'd even bump my rating up if I was still charged $0.35 but it wasn't called a "convenience fee". Changing it to something like "short-term fee" would increase good will and make me significantly less irritated about paying the additional charge.

Makes you preload $20 just so you can even see your location's parking information. In my case saw that it was only for 2 hours which wasnt enough time, and I contacted support but they refused to refund. You don't even get the bonus of being able to view the city parking map because the app for that straight up doesn't work. I was scammed, don't make my mistake

This app is completely unreliable. More than once have I gotten a ticket because the app does not properly Implement notifications. Additionally, not only do they force you to load money into your account, they force you to reload before you use all of the money. You are charged additional fees for using the credit card and less you pay the maximum amount... this might be fine except when the maximum amount is 2 hours and you can only load up an hour and 45 minutes. Which means it actually cost you more money than if you were to load the actual maximum amount.

Everything about this app is predatory in a way that ought to be illegal. From requiring you to load $20 at a time, starting at 15 min and making you manually adjust it so someone is more likely to just pay for 1 hour 15, charging a convenience fee for less than the max time allowable (even if the meter doesn't require payment). Shameless disgrace that's exactly what you'd expect to get from selling off public services.

The app itself is great. It's easy to use and the timer is good, as is the reminder notification. The cutoff so you don't pay during free parking times is nice too. However, I got this app so that I could avoid the pay boxes, and my car was towed because the paper saying no parking was, you guessed it, on the pay box, not on the parking sign that I was next to. The papers stopped at the pay box, which was about 30 feet short of the edge of the no parking zone. App cost me a few hundred dollars.

Last couple of months this app is not working properly. When you choose the length of time you want to stay it constantly keeps reverting back to the previous screen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times. never used to be like this it used to work perfectly. I'm not sure what's changed but it's very frustrating and could be very costly

Dont bother with this app, they charge a service fee every time you reserve for less than 2 hrs and additionally each time you want to extend your time. The app forces you to pre-load $20(minimum). I figured it would be an easier way to park on the streets but like everything else in Chicago, they're just squeezing money from you wherever they can.
