After finishing the initial questionnaire I tried to hit build program and the app got stuck and wouldn't progress. It's also very hard to tell when the app is loading. I restarted the app and it remembered my answers, but when I tried to adjust my height submission always failed and reverted it back to the height originally entered with the first questionnaire. Just basic functions are not working. I couldn't even get to the point of starting a free trial.
Reviews for Peak Strength
← Back to Peak StrengthAfter consuming a lot of your great content online I decided to download your app, unfortunately I injured my right knee the week before and I couldn't do a lot of the exercises the app prescribed. I think this is an aspect of your app that needs to be developed as most athletes will get injured at some point in their life 👍🏾
Edit x5: Programming/workouts amazing, and since the update performance is now the bare minimum you'd expect at this price. Still can't switch weeks. Also can't retrospectively edit sets if you logged wrong weight/reps. App still suggests nonsensical weights eg 9kg dumbells. Too expensive considering current issues. Still suspect they intend to run it at current price, make what $ they can and sunset it when users inevitably disappear. Shame considering top notch programmes.
most of the workouts are good, but the app does leave out a few small muscle groups. some of the exercises are not easy for someone new to the app to understand. other than that, it's a great app that will help you in whatever program you choose.
I follow a lot of Dane Millers/garage strength and they are awesome. This app works great but for some reason near the end of the workout it is always lagging and crashing. This messes up my time timer in between sets. I hope they fix it because the workouts truly are great and worth the money
the user experience is absolutely atrocious. thank God I signed up for a trial. I will not be fully registering literally because the user experience. I'll just build my own plan by asking chat gpt. hire a developer. please.
Made me quicker and more explosive for my football season. Dan Miller and the team at the Garage Strength know what they are talking about. I was using this during my preseason (winter 2023). I felt so much more athletic and better coordinated. My only regret is not working out 5 times a week instead of 4 as I lost significant weight on my bench. App is a lot faster than when I first started using is. I'm recommending this to all my teammates who are still following push-pull/powerlifting ways
One week into giving the app a shot, pretty pleased with it. Wish there was a little more freedom in exercise selection but that's about the only complaint I have.
Will be 5 star when it gets a bit faster. When logging completed sets it can take a minute or so to register and then show the weight for the next set, which inadvertently extends the rest time. Other than that this app is amazing and is like having a personal coach in your pocket!
Most complete training app, and highest quality with huge amounts of customization. I would say it's worth the price even though it's expensive.
This app has given me a lot more reason to commit to going to the gym and has also helped me learn new exercises and skill. It's also helped me get much stronger and happier too! I will say, though, the app can be very slow at times as well as glitchy. It takes a while to log sets and when going between programs can get very laggy. And I would love for there to be .5 kg measurements as well which would make it more accurate especially with the weights I use (1.25kg, 2.5kg increments)
Edit... Can you include a total a once or twice weekly total body option for in-season? By far the best app or program for training yourself or your kids to become more athletic. Removes all the guess work and planning.
Latest update says no start and end date selected when I start a new program, but I definitely did. So now I get no programming at all until the bug is fixed. A little expensive too for what it is. It also continues to push me 'build a new plan with the update' every time I open the app and still gives me the same error if I go through all the prompts.
This program is exactly what I have been looking for. I am a former college athlete turned lazy and out of shape who has been searching for a way to feel and train like an athlete again and Peak Strength is amazing at doing just that. You can choose what sport you play and it will base your training around that particular sport or pick universal athlete like I did and it will just program general strength and athletic movements. Cannot recommend this app enough!
This app is fantastic! Makes a plan that is easy to understand and follow. Just plug in what type of training you want, your known max lifts, and off you go. Don't like a move? Don't have that equipment for the day? It'll give you a list of similar moments to supplement. 5 out of 5 would recommend for those, like me, who don't know how to properly plan a workout regimen.
Great in theory.. but still seemed to be many errors the last time I used it. I purchased a year of the app and only used it for about 5 weeks maybe less.. the programming was interesting albeit not the best for a triathlete given the volume. One of my major issues was that it would recommend insane weights.. at one point I listed my max squat at 185, it suggest I snatch 250... I also seemed to have the issue some others did with freezing and such. I'd give it another try if it wasn't $$$
Updating last review. 1 star to 3. still not a 40 dollar app yet. many improvements since last year Big plus . I would like to be able to put specific weight in not just increments of 5lbs. Lat machine we have here goes from 99lbs to 110, 123 etc.. see my point. same with miles allow us to put in exact miles. if I ran 1.34 miles allow us to put it in. would be cool if you broke down each cardio machine and running and kept a total miles done for each one individually in our history.
The workout was great; however, the app is not great. It consistently froze and I needed to exit it and re-open to get my son through the workout. Typically froze when watching the videos to show my son proper technique or how to do the exercise. Probably waisted 20 minutes due to how often it froze. We have been using the Volt app which is cheaper and has no glitches based on my observation. We thought we would switch to Peak Strength, but probably not at $39.99 month with the glitches.
Hands down best workout app I have ever used. The app is great but the workouts are amazing. The app can be tailored however you want. that means for the type of workout that you want and for the intensity and the days you want to work out a week. If there's certain things that you don't have equipment wise, you can choose a trade off that workout for something else. Usually when apps are flexible they come at a cost of being difficult to use, not this app!
Fantastic fitness app for sports specific training. I'm getting programming from the same coaches as several Olympic athletes but customized to suit my abilities, schedule, and equipment access. Almost 4 months in and I'm stronger than ever before and reclaiming a lot of my athleticism that faded over the last few years. I plan to use Peak for at least 2 years. Always looking forward to my next workout.
