Reviews for Pedometer - Step Counter

Works great. Best, most accurate step count.. trust me I personally counted my steps for 1 mile 3 separate times & compared my count to the app!! it was accurate down to only a 3% margin of error! And that was using the lower battery consumption settings, which it tells u is slightly less accurate..., However, 1 separate time I again counted for a mile, but this time I put the settings to their most accurate settings and found that it was only better by about 1-1.5 %! AWESOME Pedometer App free!

Easy to use. Works daily without having to open on my one plus 3T. Needs a widget though to display steps without opening. I'd be willing to pay just to have a widget. UPDATE 5.12.21: This app went from not working really well to working almost 100% of the time. You have to make sure it has started. I've set mine up to not be active when I'm sleeping. Sometimes it has not turned itself back on in the morning. My only complaint is I have to check that it has started and is counting.

I love this app and keep it programmed to track all my steps when I am walking or running. It logs my milage, number of steps, duration time, miles per hour, and calories burned. You can look at the totals for days, weeks, and months as well as keep these logs for you. This app is adjustable to what users need. Be sure to give your personal data the first day before using in order to get accurate results for yourself everyday. Buses can be recorded, so adjust the speed graph. Have fun!

The pedometer keeps stopping. In order to get it to record, I have to remember to open it and click "start." I had a pedometer app on my other phone that automatically recorded all my steps every day. I didn't have to keep reminding it to do so. I've yried this one on several settings with no luck. I'm uninstalling it and will try another one.

The pedometer worked GREAT when I started using it (I've used it for a few months), but about a week or so ago, it quit counting most of my steps! Today for example, I physically counted 314 steps (including going up and down my stairs) and it only counted 103 steps! I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, hoping it would help, but it has recorded ZERO steps since reinstallation. The app did recently update on my phone and I don't know if the update has anything to do with it or not.

This is a simple, reliable app. It counts steps and keeps track of daily, weekly, and monthly totals. It also provides a simple graph for each step statistic. Other numbers tracked: milage, speed, and time spent walking. I just moved my Pedometer logs from my old phone to my new one. I had to message the Developer for some help but I got a quick response and the instructions worked! This app helps me stay on top of my activity and stay fit. :)

No WiFi/No Work. The app is inconsistent. I take the same route every day and it gives a different distance each day. The calories burned and pace are helpful. However, I question the data accuracy when the app can not be consistent with the distance walked each day. The constant demand for a rating is annoying. The app has to be closed and reopened to get out of the demand for a rating.

Pretty legit little app right here. Does exactly what it says it does, right in the background, every day, and you won't even notice it's there. It seems to be pretty accurate for what it is... I have a higher end step counting wristband, and I decided to try comparing the results of the two... And of the three 1+ hr test walks, the biggest difference was just a little over 10 steps. Not bad at all! I imagine though how different phones and how you have them in your pocket will make or break it..

Update: I find it difficult to get an accurate step count. Most of the apps out there are for equipment you have to buy which are not cheap. This app makes use of you smartphone sensors to sense your motion and includes adjustments for sensitivity and accuracy. It includes calculations for calories burned, speed and distance you walk. It even includes hour by hour recording of the number of steps you take as well as daily, weekly & monthly records. Not bad for a free app.

I had this app for about two years and it worked great. Then android did a major update and it worked spotty at best so I uninstalled it . Over the next few weeks I tried several different pedometers, some were rated higher or were editors choice and none came close to as good as this one. It gives you steps taken, speed, time walked, distance and calories burned. It doesn't talk to you, do their social media or connect to a smart watch. I have reinstalled it and works perfect again.

Easy to use. I have used it daily for more than a year. It never shuts down on my phone. The other folks having problems, it is your phone, not the app. Distances, well, put in the correct step length, you get more accurate distances! I check it against my actual steps about every other month. It could use a few more sensitivity adjustments, but it is quite accurate where I have it set. And if you always expect perfection from free apps, you are going to have a miserable life.

Updating my 3+ year old review. Still LOVE this app. Use it every day. It is solid, non-intrusive. Counts steps, graphs over time. Exactly what I need it to do. FEATURE request: Add something like a car's trip counter. When I purposely go out for a walk I want to know the walk's distance. I would start and stop a walk. The app should still count steps for the day as always. Sure, I can do the math and subtract steps then divide to find miles, but the app doing it would be easier!

Decent step counter when personalized to your specific info. Surprisingly the numbers match pretty well with my high end treadmill. Have had the counter randomly stop on occasion - that is why it's not a 5 star rating. UPDATE 3/1/20 update... App often stops. I'm finding I need to make sure it's working prior to a dedicated 'walk'. When counting steps it sometimes fails, that's kind of a pain in the ass. Still works when monitored but it's now a 2.5-3/5. It's also a battery pig. 🐖

Easy to use and adjustable to different people and uses. Never fails to record walking or running. Wish there was a paid version to remove ads. This app allows stride length as a setting, others only have height and the stride is assumed. Other apps try to add things I don't want such as goals, alerts, weight loss, etc. This app is simple and just does what it says it does. Would like to see it go on standby when not in use, and start up when walking resumes.

First time I used this app, it didn't record a single step. I had to calculate my own steps and add them to the app. The second time, it recorded nothing, then suddenly updated my steps...but the number was hugely off. I had to recalculate and edit the number. In fact, every time I took a stretch of steps, I had to manually edit the number. I tried every mode, measured and calibrated my stride, but to no avail. Finally, it stopped adding even wrong numbers. Uninstalled this waste of space.

Great step counter. Immediately picks up on your steps and records them. Nice graphs by day, week, month and year. My only gripe is that I haven't found a way to cancel the ads by paying for the app. 95% of the time they are small ads at the bottom of the screen, but occasionally one takes up the whole screen. In that case I just close the app and re-open it. Ads seem to have decreased considerably. Increasing rating.

Keeps stopping!! Nice looking app and downloaded due to poor changes to the Samsung Health app. However, keep getting days where it just stops and can't rely on it. Samsung Health recently updated and improved, so have decided to uninstall Pedometer. 16/5/25 update. Re-installed recently due to more issues with Samsung Health and Pedometer seems much improved. Only real issue is having to remember to restart it after rebooting my mobile or if I run out of battery and turn my phone back on.

VERY inaccurate.. I got up and walked about 12 steps. but it doubled it, and counted 22. it's slow, and constantly stops before adding steps. and the WORST PART... You dont even have to move to add steps!!! 🤣💀 it just tracks the movement of your phone!! I deadazz sat in my chair, and kept moving my phone forward and back, and it bumped it up to like 47!! 💀💀 DO NOT INSTALL if your trying to take your fitness seriously!! I downloaded it, and deleted it like not even 5 mins after!! 🤣

App isn't tracking my speed or distance correctly. Keeps saying I walk 2.9 mph and it shows the distance as about .5 miles less than it actually is. I'm 6'2" and am infamous for how fast I walk. I just did an experiment where I walked at a very brisk pace occasionally breaking into a jog, and it said I walked 3.1 mph. Just not accurate. It seems to be assuming my stride is smaller than it actually is.

Been using for 5 or more years but just suddenly stopped working and tried everything to get it started again. Edit: I got it working again. I had accidentally paused it and was totally my fault... :( This is definitely the most accurate pedometer I have tried, the easiest to use, and the ads are not all that intrusive. would definitely recommend the download as all the others are terrible.
