So here's my honest take on PercussionTutor. I've tested a bunch of music education apps and this one's pretty solid. The library of rhythms and instruments is really impressive, and I like that you can slow things down and practice at your own pace. It's not the most polished app out there, but it gets the job done well. If you're serious about improving your percussion skills, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try.

  • Huge library of world rhythms and instrument tutorials

  • Great for both beginners and experienced drummers

Cons

  • User interface can be a bit clunky at times

Description

Been using PercussionTutor for a couple months now. It’s basically an educational app for anyone into world percussion and rhythms. Pretty solid if you’re a drummer or just love learning about different instruments and beats.

Here’s what you do – there’s a huge library of rhythms and instrument tutorials, all taught by top percussionists. You can slow down the tempos, use the built-in metronome, and practice along with the videos. And it’s got a bunch of cool world rhythms I hadn’t heard before. Took me a while to get the hang of some of them, but it’s super useful for improving your skills.

Look, if you’re into percussion and drumming, you’ll probably really like this app. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out, especially since there’s no in-app purchases. You get all the content for one price.
