So here's my honest take on PlayScore2 needs hi-end camera. I've tested a bunch of music apps and this one's pretty solid. The core functionality works well - being able to just snap a photo of sheet music and have it play back is really cool. The subscription unlocks some extra features too. But there are a few issues - you do need a pretty high-quality camera for it to work properly, and the free trial is a bit unclear. Overall though, it's a useful app if you're into reading and playing sheet music. Not gonna blow you away, but it gets the job done.

Description

Been playing PlayScore2 needs hi-end camera for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you play all kinds of music direct from photos, images and PDF scores. You can just snap music with your camera or import images and PDFs, and the app will play it back to you, scrolling through the song measure by measure. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you do: You can take a photo of sheet music and the app will read it and play it back for you. There’s also a subscription option where you can access PDF scores and MusicXML files. And the app follows along with the music as it plays – kinda cool. Took me a while to figure that part out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re into music and reading sheet music, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the app does require a high-end camera to work properly, and the free trial is a bit confusing. But overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’re into that kind of thing.
