So here's my honest take on Pocket Bard. I've tested a bunch of audio apps for tabletop games and this one's pretty solid. The seamless transitions between different music tracks and sound effects are really well done. And i also like how you can adjust the intensity to set the perfect vibe. It's not the most feature-rich app out there, but it covers the basics really well. The audio quality could be a bit better, but it's good enough for most games. Overall, if you want an easy way to enhance your RPG sessions, Pocket Bard is definitely worth a look.

Description

Been playing Pocket Bard for a couple months now. It’s basically an audio app that lets you set the perfect soundtrack for your tabletop RPG sessions. You can seamlessly switch between exploration, combat, and other themed music and sound effects with just a tap. There’s also an intensity slider to adjust the volume and complexity of the audio to match the mood of your game. Pretty cool for creating an immersive experience.

Here’s what you do – you load up the app, pick the type of scene you’re in, and it’ll start playing the right audio. There’s also a library of sound effects like thunder, waves, and monster roars you can mix in. And if you’re the DM, you can use the app to set the tone and ambiance for your players. Took me a little while to figure out all the features but it’s not too complicated.

Look, if you run a lot of tabletop RPGs, you’ll probably love this app. It’s not perfect – the sound quality could be a bit better and the library of audio is a little limited right now. But overall it does the job of setting the right mood and atmosphere. Worth checking out for any DMs or players looking to level up their game.

Seems great and there's a decent amount of free content, plus desktop client on the way. However, I don't care for the subscription model being the only option. I'd prefer...

It's honestly one of the cleanest/easiest sound boards I've ever used, and that's why it's my go-to option. Great music and app layout. My only real criticisms is that the...

This app is super easy to use and works as intended. The "intensity" slider for the music, vs just a volume slider, is a nice addition as it adds more...
