A few issues: We've had several mess ups with our orders. We've gone to the same place a dozen times to pick it up, and never once had an issue until we used Postmates. They'll give you a partial refund, but it's definitely frustrating when you get something you can't eat. Also, I hate that they send notifications all the time for codes for free delivery/$5 off. But if you don't see the code or forget it, it's just gone. I don't see a way to find the code they just offered.

Sounds potentially okay, til every time you look at the app and only have 0-3 options. Also take into account there's only like a 30% chance that your order will go through and actually be delivered. So many times I've ordered then 2 hours later get a "Sorry your order has been canceled" notification. Also my last order resulted in getting charged for numerous items/fees I never recieved. Awful, just causes stress.
UPDATE: I decided to give the app another try, first few orders were ok. Then I got an order that was completely wrong. I alerted them and my order was immediately refunded (minus the delivery fee). The next order had a missing item, when I reported that I was told that after reviewing my account they wouldn't refund me for my missing item. When I inquired why I just got the same automated response. So now I'm done, no more chances, uninstalled the app, and unsubscribed from the email list.
If you use doordash you can get the same stuff cheaper. Postmates charges fees to the food itself (that I didnt know about until my order didnt show so I ordered again from a different app) and then they will charge you a small delivery fee, if under $15, and then a delivery fee, and then for some reason the tax is also higher than doordash, and then on top of all that you should pay your driver a tip. First experience with this app was all around awful. Will not be using this one again.
Almost everything about this app is inconvenient. It is also a bit more expensive than the other delivery apps. You are only given one line for directions, which is a problem if you have a difficult to find apartment. You end up talking to every single driver and explain them how to get there. Also, their premium service is by the year not by the month. This model deceptively scammy.
Service fees are way too high. It's up to like 25% which is often like doubling (or more) the tax+delivery fee amounts. We've also had issues with customer service and you can't even call anyone for assistance now which is very frustrating when something goes wrong with your order. Hopefully they can make some improvements on these things.
Don't use Postmates, it's not worth the frustration. They've messed up my order the last 5 times I've used them by completely leaving off entrees. And customer support basically says, "well, based on the final receipt, we didn't charge you for it, so it's all good!" Maybe your menu prices should reflect the actual prices so you're not scamming customers... Don't bother getting Unlimited either. It's not always free delivery.
I saw an ad for postmates so thought I'd try it out. Huge mistake. I placed my first order, but after seeing the app constantly push back the delivery time (eventually it was pushed out by more than half an hour from the original delivery time), I finally got a notification more than an hour after placing the order saying my order had been canceled because there weren't enough postmates around. They had over an hour to communicate with me and set expectations but instead waited and did nothing, until they decided to cancel my order out of the blue. Now I'm very hungry and very upset. I refuse to believe that this service isn't set up as a scam.
I really like your service, but I did have one bad experience. We made an order at a fast food, it was kind of late...about 10pm. Anyway, we never got it, but we did get a text from you telling us that there was a $40 charge for cancelation, but we never canceled. I think that the restaurant we ordered from was closed by the time your person got there. I replied to the text, and I'm pretty sure that the $40 charge was reversed back to my account...so it really was okay but we never got to eat!!
Have used this app a few times, and it seems like every time there has been a problem with my order. Either food is missing or I received someone else's order entirely. On this last occasion, the driver picked the food up and never delivered it, but marked the app as 'delivered'. Rather than investigate the issue, Postmates said sorry, sucks to be you and refused to refund my order. I feel bad for restaurants that subscribe to Postmates because ultimately they're the ones who don't get paid.
Beware ordering from Postmates. There are some restaurants they can't confirm the price. This just happen to me today. The price more than double compare to the advertising price is. This is purely faults advertising and scam. This is what they reply me "we are not able to confirm how much items will cost until your Postmate arrives at the merchant and finalizes the order. Prices may change once the order is complete." Don't sell them if you can confirm the price. It's that simple...
The company is having issues with the drivers credit cards (which is how they pay the restaurants), so orders keep showing up very late and cold or are cancelled after already waiting 45 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this service until they sort out their issues. Edit: One driver actually kept my food. The company no longer has phone support at all. They have done nothing to make up for the consistently horrible service. I do not type this lightly.
Great service, but there should be a better way to resolve problems when your order is wrong or incomplete, which it is literally 50% of the time. That is usually the restaurants fault, I get that. But instead of a credit, Postmates should send another driver over with the missing item/corrected order. It shouldn't be so hard to get exactly what you've ordered. Having said that, it's super handy. If you haven't tried it, do! True decadence to have dinner delivered from anywhere, anytime! 😋👍
It's alright but there's no way to talk to your deliverer. We've actually gotten the wrong order a couple of times and couldn't undo the situation. Also if there's a mistake it's very clumsy to navigate where on the app you can contact someone to help you. When it works, it works. When it doesn't, you're driving to the restaurant to get your food only to find out that the server and deliverer switched orders around and all you can do is email the company.
I was disappointed. I knew about the $2.99 delivery fee but not the service fee. I wasn't given a summary of the order, costs, fees, etc. before the card was charged. This was a group order and each person was not allowed to pay their own order nor was I allowed to split the order. Nor could I add a person who didn't have the app (phone) or e-mail separately. Especially in this time, it did not allow me to add a tip.
I've been screwed over by these guys way too many times now. 4 to be exact. I simply want to pay for food, and have it brought to me. Very simple. Yet 4 different times "something went wrong" as costumer service puts it and I've had to recieve a refund and end up with no food until I order from somewhere else. Use another app y'all. Postmates is not worth your time.
Was good until it wasn't. Been using the app for quite a while. I had my share of incomplete/incorrect orders that, for the most part, were resolved. My last order was incorrect(really the last several orders) all the way down to the drinks. Customer service has gotten horrible. Basically, I provided the proof that was asked for and got an "oh well" in other words. This situation alone isn't the sole reason for my review being this way. It's the fact that this had become a common issue.
By the time you pay the increased prices & all the fees (not including any tip) you are paying at least twice as much than in store prices. I have tried to take advantage of a few promotion discounts but then they revoke them just as soon as it shows in my account. It still shows in my account but they will not work. Customer service says they have been revoked. Yet, the app continues to send me reminders to use them... Useless app, and worse customer service. So many better options out there.
You know an app's customer service went downhill when they ask you to provide feedback on your experience but remove the UI that lets you leave the feedback. . . I'm expected to film myself opening my food every time because on the off chance something is missing they expect proof. I've had food missing and asked to provide proof, so unboxing videos are the only thing I can do. I'll get an automated response 12 hours later saying "we aren't refunding you, it's final" and they close the ticket.
I used to love ordering from this place. until everywhere I ordered they didn't give me the items Ive asked for. what was frustrating was they didn't refund me for the items they didn't give me. I've been trying to contact postmates. but every number they have online goes straight to a dead end. it hasn't been one or 2 orders they've missed. its been several. have I received anything from them ? no . im so mad now. they are causing so much fraudulent and frustration. I've let months pass.
