At first I was very impressed. It was exactly what I was looking for. Then after a few days it started switching over to some stupid game constantly, literally preventing me from accessing the user interface at all. This app is now completely unusable for me. Bummer.
Reviews for Radio USA - Live Radio FM / AM
← Back to Radio USA - Live Radio FM / AMThis works really good. Listening to stations through this app is a lot more stable than listening to stations through their own internet website. Listening to stations on their own website through a browser will disconnect if I close out my phone or tablet screen but not through the app.
EXCELLENT RADIO STATION APP. There are so many, many radio App's in the Play Store, it does make it difficult to pick one. So, I have several. This one has a very simple user interface. I like the many Station Genre choices & the Ads are very easy on the User. You can also add a Star for all your Favorite Stations. I also like the $16.99 one time fee for visual Ad Removal. I really like this one. I think you will definitely like this Radio USA App as well. I would definitely recommend. 👍
I'm impressed # my local stations Radio USA found (main use) + some interesting content. I appreciate the simplicity, having screen off to listen, low data. Commercials can be awkwardly timed. Too bad stations don't show song titles. I love that feature!! My big wish is to customize favorites bc my top ones are always bottom of the list (picked out first.) I thought this would be intuitive/ user prog solved eventually... I suppose I could unlike and relike in my favs. A logic puzzle~ who knew?
Ads pop up every time I try to search for local stations. The ads can't be closed out and they stop the radio station list from opening, whether they are full page ads or just a tiny banner across the top. I'm not paying for the ad free option when I can't test out the app to see if I even like it. I'm most definitely uninstalling it.
I like being able to listen to radio across the US. I wish it wouldn't quit playing if another app is open or randomly stops. What I really don't like is when I's cooking or working on a project and I don't click out of an ad, it opens that ad in a browser. I don't need unnecessary footprints for products or topics I have zero interest in inviting more to my electronics. Otherwise, It's an app I enjoy.
Always nice to have other options musically. Always pleasant hearing a long lost song from long ago. Triggering memories of where you were at that time. Songs trigger memories of lost friends and loved ones, because for whatever reason you associate certain songs to certain people and situations. Also getting an education, because different songs were popular in various areas of the USA. So if I've never heard it before, it's new to me.
So far so good. Newly installed. Keep up the good work! Update: I dismissed USA in the app name, but find now that it truly is only USA stations end podcasts. Would like to see a menu item for submitting stations, and as a radio app enthusiast a disclosure of how they collector station database. So I'm only missing out on one station I use on my PC.
An EXCELLENT service! I watch MSNBC routinely. I used to use TuneIn to listen to it because I don't have (and don't want to pay for) cable or other ways to access NBC programs. I've tried several other similar access points, like livenewsnow, but they have so many technical problems that almost always interrupt your listening. This app you just turn it on and enjoy and turn it off when you're finished. No commercials, no delays, and no technical problems. What more could you ask for?
I've had this app a week and love it! With the alarm clock feature, I wake up to my favorite music daily. Most of my favorite local stations are here and I travel for work so that's huge. They go with me! I had Sirius XM for awhile and the only thing I miss is a comedy station. This has one or more! Podcasts too. And the interface and search are great. 0 complaints. The unlocked features are well worth the low cost. Do it.
So I wanted a radio app on my phone. After reading reviews for several, I finally settled on this one. Of course, all these apps nowadays have a zillion ads, which is SO annoying, so I paid the fee to have ads removed. I give this app ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and totally recommend it. The interface is really easy to use. I found all my favorite stations easily, and there are also podcasts on this app. I can easily find any kind of station I want. I love it!
They have the stations I can't otherwise get in my area. Works great. UPDATE: This app turns itself back on, even after a forced shut down and runs in the background. There doesn't seems to be any way to shut it down. I have had to uninstall it after unsuccessfully troubleshooting it. 2nd UPDATE - Wow, goes from bad to worse. I uninstalled the app then a couple days later reinstalled. I haven't used it again yet but it is still opening itself and running in the background. It's a cannibal.
It was functioning well, then its started turning off, and when you try to turn it on, it goes to an ad. The ad works fine as soon as it is over. Suddenly, it says network error, so I push play, and it goes to another ad . As usual, the ad comes through without an issue , but after the ad, it's right back to saying network error. So I'm un installing and finding a more reliable app .
Had high hopes, but it abruptly stops after three hours or so and when you try to restart you just get stuck in an ad loop. The only way to fix it is to completely close the app and reopen, which of course, means more ads. Tried to go to "contact us" in the app for issues, but the only response was "no apps can perform this option". Uninstall.
Best radio app I've tried. Tried several radio apps trying to find one that carries my local stations from a small; and dare I say irrelevant; market. This is the first one I found that does. Another bonus is that the ads are kept to a minimum, and they tend to be visual. So ads aren't constantly interrupting the radio broadcast. Great app. I highly recommend it.
After a few months of using the app, there are just too many ads for my taste. They play over broadcasts, but I don't think that can be avoided from a technology standpoint. You should know that when you pay for no ads, it just eliminates the ads within the app and not the ads in the broadcasts. I'm not talking about the ads the stations play, but the ads they play over the broadcast station. Songs and all...
I like the app with the exception of 16.00 to go ad free and the fact the volume varies a lot. One song may be crazy loud, so I turn it down, and the next song might be so quiet you can hardly hear it. I can't just set the volume and go about my business. Latley, it keeps cutting out completely. It's not my ISP connection. I have the fastest / fiber optic ISP speed you can get. If the volume was consistent and it didn't keep cutting out completely, I'd go ad free.
Great source for apps, but some issues. If a "station" is paused, the Radio app switches to a default station. You then need to reopen your station and search for where you left off. Frustrating. If you pause to check an email or text, you lose your station where you left off.
The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 5 and have not paid for ad free is there is no account login. I use both my tablet and phone, depending on where i am and what I'm doing. I am not paying ad free for each device as well as setting up my favorite list only to repeat the mess when I need a new device. The function of the app is exceptional, and the available list of stations is robust. The deal breaker for me remains the lack of a central account.
This app is more of a platform for delivering advertising. For example, advertisements run over broadcast time, even in the middle of broadcasting (not just when you start the app or press something on its interface). This occurs every 15-20 mins. So you miss much of the actual broadcast. Also, if you are ever in a place where the signal needs to buffer, the advertising kicks in and comes in nice and clear. And, of course, the ads have to run to completion before resuming the broadcast.
