I’ve been using Record Scanner for Vinyl & CD for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you scan album covers, barcodes, or catalog numbers to quickly identify records and add them to your collection. Pretty solid app if you’re into building a music library.
Here’s what you do: you can scan an album cover and it’ll pull up all the details like artist, album name, release year, and so on. There’s also a manual search if you can’t find it by scanning. And you can add extra info about the records you own – stuff like condition, where you got it, personal notes, that kind of thing. It’s got a cool virtual cabinet feature too where you can organize your whole collection in the cloud.
Look, if you’re a vinyl or CD collector, you’ll probably really like this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job of helping you keep track of your music. Worth checking out if you want an easy way to catalog your collection.
