I been trying to make a transfer for 3 days already, it's says It's on hold. been trying to get help with theirs costumer service, they transferred me 6-7 to different agents, all asking me the same questions, over and over, (they don't know what they are doing) and I been trying over the phone and it's even worst. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Bad, unreliable and horrible costumer service.

Scam! they steal money for 10 days. remotely was fine but after last update they charge you before allowing you to verify the transaction. This is wierd as usually transaction is done only after sevurity verification ans never before. this way they make you pay twice and then cancel one transaction or both and tell you to wait 10 days for a refund. shameful

I've been using the app for a while, and I agree with all the comments. This used to be a great platform fast and reliable, but not anymore. Here a list of const of using the app and to be aware before to try so you save your time. 1. Referral program: it's a lie, they make it so hard for you to obtain it, link don't work, you're referred is not on the list, make sure this and that, their app doesn't work, but we are the ones that have to correct things 😉 2. Using Google Pay to send money didn't work. The Customer service advised me to cancel the transaction and make a new one using my card directly rather than Google Pay. However by doing this I wouldn't have received the introductory rate. They weren't able to do anything about this, or to change the payment method on my original transaction. They also weren't able to open a ticket to get someone to look into why Google Pay wasn't working with their platform.

I did an express transfer on March 31 and today April 4, it still says "in progress." Remitly instantly took money from the bank so I can't access the money. I chatted with an agent and was told there was system maintenance and if I cancel the refund may take up to 10 days. I will go back to using Xoom or something else. Xoom warns me about transfer delays or creates an error before I send if there's a problem. They also give a 30 mins window where I can cancel and the money remains in my bank.

They will boot off their regular customers after a while. I have been sending money for months, maybe a year now and if they find one single thing they don't like, even the purpose of the sent money, they will suspend your account. Customer Service doesn't even help, everything reported is unclear in the Customer Service dept. Resending or correcting past info you have to jump through hoops as well esp to cancel them. I don't write reviews usually, but this needs to be heard.

What a waste of time putting all my info in to set up an account and have every transaction cancelled. Tried three different payment methods and every one rejected. Jumped on Western Union and goes through on the first try. Security is one thing....failure to provide the basic service you set out to provide is another. Never use this service again.

Was the best app for sending money internationally. Simple. Quick. Intuitive. Reliable. I recommended it to all my friends and family. Now I will not. They recently froze my account with no warning. I asked them to review and they replied they have reviewed and can not reactivate my account. I asked for a reason why and all they said was I violated their user agreement. No further details how. Unprofessional. I'll find better and Remitly can cash me outside how bow dat.

Wish I could give less than 1 star. I made a Instant transfer to India via Bank Deposit. The money was supposed to reach out in as quick as 15 mins, but never did. Called the customer service team multiple times to understand what went wrong with the transaction and all they have to say is that they are investigating the issue. Been over a month now and have no resolution. My money is gone as well. Recommend not to use this service.

Horrendous! My transaction was stopped (after a deceptive note staying funds would be available in 30 mins) requesting I provide a bank statement. That was fine. However on sending another sum of the same amount, the next day, i was told to provide the same documentation, source of funds, my employer and my employment. And then after all this they cancel my transaction and my account! No reason given by customer service. Only something about a "robust security system". A waste of time and effort!

Bank to bank is free of fee charge. Higher rate comparable to other app I am using. When I say higher rate, it's around point something and not a dollar. However, it takes 5 days (they promised 3 days, yet i was tricked) before it transfer to your receiver, and this make me uneasy. The other app, free of charge too but no waiting. So I use that more than this app. Point something difference is not worth it when you are feeling uneasy.

The app is fairly easy to use and gives a good exchange rate, but a few things don't add up, though: The fee for sending money with economy or express is the same ($4.99. Which is kind of high, considering other apps). It should be cheaper if is going to take 6 whole days to get to the other bank. Also, they say express takes 4 hours, when in reality it takes more, almost a full day. This is very inconvenient, in case you have to send money for an emergency to a family or friend in need.

Am giving this app. A 1 star. They will send the money when you use a debit card. When you use a checking account , and wait the 3 days for your love ones to receive the money they will stop the transaction, if the rate amount in the market has changed during the 3 day period. They just want you to do the same transaction but with less money for your love ones. Sorry I can't trust an app with this system it's unfair.

The app is counter intuitive to use, you need to select a currency and only then you can only see your recipients and history pertinent to transfers of that currency. Additionally the debit card numbers are hidden and cannot be accessed which makes tracing missing funds difficult. Something which Remitly customer service is also very unhelpful in doing. If money goes missing they just ask you to take it up with the receiving bank. Wise is much better.

I really liked remitly at first. It was easy to use and reasonable sending fee. The recipient received transfers within minutes in their bank account, but recently there has been problems and I'm needing to contact customer service. I paid the fee, but the transfer doesn't go through right away and the status is "In Progress". So what is the point of paying $3.99 for express when it's not express?! It's very inconvenient. I need to look for a new app to send money.

Remitly, as described in many reviews below, is too aggressive and rather wrong-headed about its "security" approach. I agree that they do the right thing to verify sender and recipient info. But they collect so much information, then suspend your account with no reason given, and you are locked out of their service. If you started any transactions, they are cancelled, so the reason you wanted to use their service in the first place is no longer available, AND YOU DON'T KNOW WHY.

It was my first time using the app and supposedly it was going to be free for me which was -1.99 and the recipient was going to receive a better rate but, after I did the transaction, the transaction fee was 12 dollars and I ended up paying 10 dollars for the fee to transfer the money. Nowhere in the options said that the bank transfer was 12 dollars and the discount was not free or part of a partial discount!!! I found out once I saw the charge on my card. Save money by understanding the fees.

I used Remitly for about a year with no issues. Suddenly, my last transfer was declined, and my account was blocked. Support said it was due to a policy violation but couldn’t tell me what policy or what I did wrong. Just “security reasons.” No verification process, no warning, no chance to fix it. The whole thing felt vague and arbitrary. There are better options out there. I no longer recommend Remitly.

Before I sent the money, it was said that it will be delivered in minutes. I was happy to know that and send the money right away. After it was confirmed, they told me that it will be available after 3-4 days!! Cannot rely on it during emergency, sucks to use this app. And if you wanna cancel the transfer, they will refund you after 10-12 business days.. I will definitely delete this app after my transfer is clear.
