Reviews for Resideo - Smart Home

main functionality I'm interested in seeing is the runtime and it does not show. sometimes it shows 2 days later but not a lot of good use when I want to see how long my systems been running for the day when I'm away. it does allow me to remotely set the temperature which is nice so I can begin cooling down on my drive home. also the amount of pop ups and requests for notifications to be added is crazy. indint need notifications just how long my system is on for and to remotely set temperature.

The app keeps saying "no internet connection" when I obviously do have a connection. Weather always says "unavailable" until I click on it. The T-9 thermostat is awesome. The added sensors and circulate function solved my hot/cold room problems. A/C guy told me the circulate function would not work on a single stage unit, but it does. It keeps all the rooms at an even temperature.

This app needs a lot of work. I couldn't add thermostats to it, I had to do it on the iOS version, and then they appeared in this app after logging in. The app also is annoying because it thinks it needs notification permission, but no way, no thank you. I have to say no every time I start the app. It's also bad at grouping thermostats, I have to turn groups on or off manually. Pretty lame. You can see from their reply they don't take the app issues seriously, implying I'm the problem. Nope.

Most annoying app ever. Zero way for you to turn off Humidity alerts so every hour you get a pop up on your phone and also an email which you cannot control. Good example, the water sensor is under the sink. It will likely stay humid all summer! I now have 48 alerts per day (24 emails, 24 pop ups) from Resideo that I have no control to turn off within the app. I work in IT and called their Tech Support who said there was nothing they can do and "thanks for the feedback" HORRIBLE!

The app was working fine for 5 months, and a few days ago, it started to show that both thermostats in my house are offline. However, both thermostats themselves showed that they were connected to WiFi. I've re-installed the app. I've rebooted my phone several times. I've re-registered WiFi on both thermostats. I've unplugged both thermostats for at list a minute. I've rebooted home router. Nothing worked

The app has been working fairly well. My wife's apple version was having Geofence issues. I think we found the solution with hers needing to open the app every week or so to keep it connecting. Now over the last couple of weeks my android version has stopped geofenceing all together. It does not pick up that I am home unless I physically open the app every time. This defeats the purpose. I am happy to up my rating if this gets fixed in a timely manor.

Thermostat are working and connected, but constantly show as offline. 2 years later same issue hasn't been resolved. RUN. Find something that works. My nest has never had this problem. Edit - support is useless. They tell you to follow the same steps and then the unit goes offline again. Support blames the internet and "server maintenance"

Insists on notifying me every time humidity goes above 70% or drops below that. Even if that's the humidity outside. I don't care. Shut up. You can't make it stop. I turned off humidity notifications, still notifies. Set it to notify only at 95%, still notifies at 70. Want to turn off that notification type? Too bad, they didn't type notifications. You get all or nothing. Update: It appears about 24h after setting up humidity notifications it stopped. Haven't had one for a few days.

works ok but nags me about turning on notifications every time I open the app, then tells me they are required when I decline. Updated 9/7/25, still nags me about notifications being required when the app works fine without them. so every time I open the app I have to decline turning on notifications and then I get a pop-up telling me they are required preventing me from adjusting thermostat until pop-up goes away. This is unnecessary and antagonistic to your users. I'm switching to Nest.

(UPDATE: I discovered it won't consistently function unless the app has permission to access your exact location - all the time.) This is an app more designed as a sales gimmick than as something useful. Constantly claims to have no internet connection. Unless I restart it, at which point it is fine. Nothing else in the house has this issue. Very annoying!

was doing great but not now . for the past several days the app opens to the cover screen but blocks all further features. therefore I cannot change the temperature setting. sometimes if I restart my phone it will appear sometimes if I just keep trying it will appear sometimes if I go to the store and open the app from there it appears. I can't climb the stairs to get to the thermostat so this is driving me crazy. I'm afraid to uninstall and reinstall for fear I won't be able to reconnect.

This came with my new HVAC system that provides very basic functionality. However, the system runtime does not work at all......just always says "data not received". You can have a schedule but only one apparently, so you can't, for instance, have a home and vacation schedule that you can switch back and forth from. It's working for me but NOT a very impressive app! I'll probably get something better soon.

This app is terrible. I installed a new AC unit on my home in February and wanted a stat that could be controlled via app. The app worked for about a month. After the first month, the app has been inconsistent and now it just doesn't work. I've spent an hour on the phone with Support and none of their troubleshooting worked. Worse, based on the history of reviews Resideo/Honeywell knows of these issues and does nothing to fix them. Im getting a Nest.

Unfortunately the app does not work at all. The main issue is that when trying to add a device, the only way to do so is with a QR code, and the app incorrectly calculates camera aspect ratio on Android, causing it to not be able to scan. Secondarily, the app REQUIRES precise location services and harvests realtime location and there's NO way to turn this off even of you don't want to use the "geofencing" feature. No, I don't need my thermostat app tracking my location.

I like being able to adjust the thermostat in my home from anywhere. What I REALLY don't like is that the app asks me every time I open it if I want to allow notifications. I answer no every time, and it will still ask me again the next time. I don't see any way to stop that prompt from occurring without enabling notifications. Outside of the annoying prompt, the app works well and communicates as expected with our thermostat.

Worst app in the world. Every so often either my internet provider does an update or there is a power outage. Every time one or both of the resideo go offline. The worst of it, the thermostat will not reconnect. It can take all day to get it working again. However most of the time I can throw one of them out and start an installation with a new $200 that I keep on hand for this reason. Over the last 4 years I think this has happened 4 times. Quite pricey if you ask me. Install is never easy.

I have installed the app and received an email that my account is set up. When I've tried to log in, it takes me back to the log in it create account page. I've tried changing the password, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and restarting my phone. I still seem to be in a loop where I cannot even access the app itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

App works adequately with my T9 thermostat but it is pretty barebones in terms of options. It would be nice to be able to turn the thermostat off for some periods in the schedule, for example in order to save money during on-peak electrical hours but it only allows me to set the temperature. I just set it to a very high/low temperature during those hours which does what I want but it seems like an oversight. Other than that I haven't had any major issues.

This app is subpar and definitely inferior. The geofence feature is why I bought this thermostat and it doesn't reliably work. When it fails to work properly I have to restart the phone uninstall and reinstall the app and reconfigure the Wi-Fi. It's annoying to have to do this frequently. It should be set up once and continue working in perpetuity. The app needs a serious overhaul so that it can deliver on the services it provides reliably. I would encourage customers to look for other services.

4/30/25: it went down again, 2 or 3 days ago. I feel like this app spends more time telling me system offline than actually being usable. every few months it'll go to system offline. sometimes it comes up after a week, other times it takes over a month. all customer service does is tell me to do everything I've already done and then that there's an outage with a resolution date that passes with no fix.
