$100 per year is ridiculously expensive for a very basic app that just contain a few short hypnosis recordings that you can get for free or much cheaper in other apps or on Youtube. I was looking forward to this app release because of Dr. Spiegel's involvement but the content and price is disappointing. I would be happy to buy a lifetime subscription at a reasonable price, but subscription at $100 per year is just insane.
Reviews for Reveri: Immediate AI relief
← Back to Reveri: Immediate AI reliefAI slop for $150. no thanks. it used to be good. helped me quit smoking. but that was a human voice.
Not as advertised. On the tim Ferris podcast I'm pretty sure the doctor says it's free. Not even part of it is free - unless you hand over the credit card for 7 days. If you have so much confidence in the usefulness of the app why not let someone try it genuinely free. Also doesn't say when you download "in app purchases' which it should. Misleading and disappointing. Not something I'd expect from two well established academics.
I really like the design of the app, the mini hypnosis sessions are surprisingly impactful, the way it offers a new way to 'interact' with the Dr. and you can't really beat his credentials. There just isn't enough! Not when you compare it to others available at the same price. A nice start but definitely a way to go. If the offer expands then I'll consider subscribing but for now I won't.
I used this to help quit smoking and for this it seems like it might be powerful, although still in the early days. I gave 3 stars because it's incredibly expensive for what you get - the quit smoking section has just 2 recordings, one 4mins long and the other 9mins long and that's it. There's only 2 recordings, nothing new has come out ever since I first tried it a year ago and you're expected to pay 25€/month. One time payment of 25€, ok maybe. But with no updates why a monthly subscription?
Why so expensive? And why are you charging money before I can even try it? I suggest that you allow all users free access for the trial period and then charge if they want to continue. This would be more ethical. It's obvious from all of the comments that many people are not getting their refund when they cancel. You seem to he forcing them to go through the extra steps of emailing your support to get the refund. Please make everyone's life better by not asking for payment until after trial.
The idea behind the app is great, it's interesting to see what hypnosis really is in the clinical context and for me it does the job. The app itself however is a bit finicky, hence the 3 star rating. The voice replies aren't always registered(about 3 out of 10 times) and at times the recording is poor quality, it sounds like a bad radio signal or a broken speaker with a lot of static and even that specific noise.
Not worth the hype. The app works to remind you for the first week, and then as soon as your trial period is over and they receive your money, the app stops. You can get just as good or even better hypnosis sessions on YouTube that are more tailored to what you need. This app is not worth the money you put in.
the more I listen, the more I feel scammed and annoyed. there should be academic sessions explaining things and giving the opportunity to prepare for the practice sessions. what is completely missed is that many people who can't sleep or are stressed haven't practiced finding useful imagery so there's a hidden path of practice and research necessary before any of the short sessions are useful. it's like they are being guided by know it all academics with little concern for actual user experience
I cannot sign in with the email in the app it always send me to the browser, then it gets stuck after the questions about my plan and nothing happens. After all the app is just there for nothing. I don't understand why i had to download it, i could go to the website and thats it. Maybe the content of the therapy is great but i will never know because the entire thing does not work.
I've been using "Relieve Stress" a lot, and it's really useful. I do like that it's something that's research-based, having heard Dr. Spiegel on Huberman Labs. Seems like they're still working out the kinks on the interactive side of things for the sessions where you're supposed to speak into the app. Hopefully they'll continue getting better with that part of it.
Holy exspencive, it was something that sounded cool and exciting to give a try but it just looks like a REALLY exspencive membership for something im not even sure would work (in whatever sense that means to me). There's no trial from what I could tell, and everything is locked until you've paid for a plan. Until that ever changes, I'll reinstall, but the interest died within the first minute of opening the app.
I was surprised by how bad this was - there are only 6 "full" (8-9 min) sessions and then a bunch of "micro" sessions that are only 60 seconds. Them being extremely short means there's time to go into it, literally hear him say one or two sentences then come out of it. Like on the goals one he just says "what are your three most important things to get done? Choose your goals for today" and that's it. I was expecting more of a motivational or calming thing?
Might be good, if you can pay. Asking $25/month for an app that you can hardly even try is a bit much. If they would let people watch an ad to try the sessions they are interested in for free, or would allow say 3 sessions a week for those who don't pay the steep price for membership, they would probably have a lot more(and happier) users.
Charged for the whole year up from if you miss the 7 day window for the free trial. Edit: I was able to get it worked out with them but there really needs to be a way to transition into a monthly plan from the free trial. Over $100 is a lot to ask for this app, especially all at once and up front. Thank you for the quick response time though. I do appreciate good customer service
I like the concept, but I think the hypnotist moves a little quickly into the hypnotic state. Like, I feel I need 10-15 second more to relax into "float" mode. I'm still on the floating step and he's already moved on to the suggestion. I don't know, maybe that's the plan: focus on floating, receive the suggestion on a subliminal level and it sticks better. Because despite my feeling of not being prepared, I did notice I performed better in my choices.
So I started the free trial, but realized it's not for me after trying to do 2 guided sessions. The biggest problem is the guy's voice - there's nothing soothing or calming about it. Being in a relaxed and perceptive state of mind his voice sounded aggravating and quite abrupt. Also, there are other ways to induce hypnosis that work really well on me, like Elman's induction, but the induction in the app did absolutely nothing for me. Even inductions recorded on YouTube worked better. IMHO.
I wanted to like this app, but it didn't work well technically. this is not a commentary on hypnosis but the AI speech integration. the app steers you to use the "interactive mode" but it doesn't work well at all. also, not a fan of an app that requires a subscription you have to cancel to get a free trial.
I've done app-based hypnotherapy in a few other places, and have been impressed with the progress I've made. I was excited to try this app and interact with an expert like the doctor, unfortunately it just did not work for me. I found his voice super monotonous and boring, I would get distracted. I took the test to see how susceptible to hypnotherapy you are inside the app, and found myself irritated by his continued questions that seemed to indicate something should be work. It wasn't.
it might be the best by comparison to other hypnotic apps, and probably the cleanest best interface. i used the free trial period to explore aspects of the app. it has specificity and is generally affirming. In general i prefer a more gentle deeper voice and a less script reading sound. the guy sounds a bit too authoritarian and more body than relaxing. but he is pro.
