Reviews for Salesforce Authenticator

← Back to Salesforce Authenticator

Lagging, slow and doesn't open on its own. It sometimes opens, sometimes it knows where I am and knows to automatically authenticate me, but recently I end up having to use the generated code and enter it manually. Google authentication works so well, I'm sorry you don't offer that support.

This app needs work. To the dev team please address the following: 1. when i set the app to "auto approve from this location" then please remember this setting for longer than a day. Also provide us a way to review these sites and unapprove them if necessary. I run a highly mobile team and locations change pretty much everyday 2. improve the time taken to receive a auth req. There are times ( regularly) that i don't get one at all. This is very frustrating and in a busy call centre sometimes means (like others have posted) that it takes 10 times or more to log in. 3. allow the app to run in the background on my samsung phone. I have apps that i have open for days and they are fine.... i have to restart your app EVERY time i want to authenticate thanks

The Approve button almost never works when trying to log in. I have to open the app and enter the code, but on the computer it takes three clicks to get to the code screen so -1 star. At least the code works.

It's was working fine until I deleted the app and installed it again. Now the Salesforce login page is asking for verification code while the app is showing me the phrase to add. Don't know how to reconnect the account with the app. There is no backup and no option to reconnect. And I'm stuck out of all the Salesforce accounts at the same time.

Salesforce Authenticator is terrible. To add account to app, you need access to your account... But to get access to account you need the account to be added to the app.... 🤦🏻‍♀️🤔 Don't think they thought this through.... It's basically a catch 22 with no actual solution. I would recommend for everyone to hold off on using their 2 factor authenticator as long as possible.

This app has made my life a living hell. I add my location as a trusted location every single time it asks, yet I have to use it to login every single day, usually 10 or more times a day. It doesn't remember your trusted location ever, and it doesn't even remember you're logged in and makes you log back in over and over and over all day every day.

I get push notifications but they are silent. I have gone through all the app settings and phone settings, this is the only app with this issue. this is terribly frustrating bc sometimes I need to approve a trusted IT consultant to help me in my system. I want to provide access for them but I do not know that the notification was sent without sound.

I STILL can't login to PartnerNet. I've been trying to add an account on this app for 47 minutes and I'm starting to get frustrated. The app refuses to allow me to connect to the PartnerNet app and I can't open an account connection and I don't get any notifications to approve an account. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both apps 5 or 6 times now and am still struggling. Why is this so difficult?! Someone please help!

This app should be easy to use and it should be simple to transfer my authentication to a new phone. However, it simply doesn't work properly. I used the email option the first time and after competing the process, the app simply took me back to the start. It even said in green, your accounts have been restored. Now the "transfer using email address" button doesn't work anymore.

Salesforce authenticator is great if you login from a new device but sometimes I have trouble verifying if the computer is faster than the app and vice versa. One time I had an issue with my phone and I could not login at all. It was a hassle. Our IT dept had to reset my account and I was able to login about an hour and a half later.

The app frequently forgets my laptop, calls it a new device, and says that I can "automate future requests from this client." However, usually it doesn't let me enable that toggle. Even when it lets me enable the toggle, it often fails to auto-approve logins and then recognizes it as a "new client" after 1 day -- again suggesting that I can enable it for auto approval but refusing to let me flip the toggle. And over and over for years.

Literally prevents me from clocking in for work or getting paystubs. App generates code phrase which you're supposed to take to other app. (Other apps have no place to enter in a code phrase, proceeds straight to an "insufficient permissions" page. They farm out support to a completely different company that requires training on unrelated products then you still won't help. New version lets you scan qr code, so maybe I'll be able to print out qr and scan, you can't get a qr code from device.

Does not stay active. Frequently requires that you hunt down the app and leave it open while refreshing the browser to push through to approve. Makes my work take longer because the push notifications going to my phone are inconsistent in their reliability. Annoying to have to have an app that I only use for push notifications to not work for the basic function. Sometimes the approval is instant, requiring a quick glance and tap. Other times, a couple minutes. Would not use if I didnt have to.

Honestly, an incredibly poor authenticator. Allows a trusted location to automatically approve anytime you try to log into your account while at that location, except that in order for it to work you have to open the app and approve it anyways. It doesn't actually send push notifications when you try to login, and it drains your battery at exorbitant rates. (35% of my battery life the past 3 days. I didn't work 2 of those 3 days, so I didn't use the app at all). Don't use this app unless forced.

The app is fairly inconsistent. When I log into salesfore, I expect a notification on my phone that I can accept to approve the log in. This only works occasionally, most times I have to open the app manually. When I open the app, instead of being brought to the authentication page, I am sent a push notification and have to go to my notifications bar to approve my login. Don't even get me started on the 'trusted locations' feature, it never works. I'd rather be sent an SMS with a code than this.

It seemed to work well to begin with, but the response time really is not reasonable. I'm annoyed that Salesforce forces you to validate every single login, but that's not why I rate the App low. It claims to remember your location and auto validate, but that is totally inconsistent and still takes longer than a 3rd Party OTC App. The final straw was when this App broke down completely and locked out everyone in my company for half a day. Just like the Salesforce App, they have a long way to go.

The automation is very finicky. Very often do I get the automation set up, then it fails at random times. It could fail remember the device the same day, a week from now, or 2 months from now. I found that my background data was enabled as it says, but it registers as off sometimes which is why I assume it fails randomly. I have to keep going into the settings, toggle my background data off, then back on again for it to finally work properly.

Can't get in from a new phone when I lost my login data. Doesn't even give me the option to just login to the authenticator using my same phone number, or email address for verification. Yet, I also can't get in to my Salesforce account to set up the app on my new phone. We are a small organization, it never needed to be this complicated to login, but for some reason Salesforce insisted we set it up anyways. Not only does this app feel completely useless, but somehow twice as annoying.

Agree with other users who say this app is buggy and completely inconsistent. It lets you approve a frequent device to automate requests, but you still have to open the app in order for the automation to work. (And sometimes the "automation" is active for a week, sometimes two weeks, sometimes a couple days, before it seems to expire.) Nothing about the "automated" approval is actually, in fact, automated. Often find myself having to go into the app to force approval. Anti-productivity.

> -1 Terrible. Terrible, I go through over three times logging in without success. Multiple tries, I don't see the Approve option. Wasted time. Terrible. Not everyone has a cell phone for their organization. Terrible. Not everyone wants to use their personal cell. It's terrible that you assume your clients are all the same and have access to the same resources. Find a better way that is more user friendly to all your end users. Think more outside the box.
