Pretty decent for sending mobile money and used to be my go-to. Unfortunately the acquisition (Chime) has reduced the rates by quite a bit. App also hasn't been as reliable lately, sometimes it says the money went through but I never get an email so I have to wait a day or two just to avoid sending twice. Rates are better than the big boys but there are certainly more generous exchanges with equal support elsewhere.

I have been using send wave since it was in beta phase when Drew end team were piloting. It's been good until recently, where transactions are in progress for more than two days and no apparent reason. If you want to connect it will take up to one hour to go though the queue . They have grown too big and customer service and on time delivery is no longer a priority.
I do not recommend.. had a transaction that hasn't shown up on the other end.. I have called 7 times and they can't give me a clear answer on a resolution. They keep bringing up their local partners and saying that they are waiting for them as if I am in business with their local partners. I have sent nearly 20k via their service without one complain,, if I say there was an issue on a transact that 5percent if my historic, shouldn't that be a benefit of the doubt to expediently resolve.
I've been having a terrible experience with the Sendwave app. For the past two days, I've been unable to send money due to an error message. I attempted to resolve this through the chat support, but the representative stopped responding without offering any solutions. Frustrated, I decided to delete my account altogether. However, I'm now unable to access my account due to an "expired link" message when attempting to update my password. This prevents me from logging in and deleting my account.
I had an issue with the sendwave app where it would not allow access beyond the login page. The app would not recognize the three digit security code on the back of my card. Multiple attempts to uninstall and re-install the app did not work either. The good news: I called customer service and they reset my card info which required a re-entry of my info. The app worked immediately after and all this took just a couple of minutes. Lesson learnt, if one solution doesn't work, explore alternatives! I feel like a dummy , I should have called customer service months ago. Thumbs up CS.
I love this app and use it regularly to send money to friends and family in Kenya. Transfers are practically instant (usually less than 30 seconds). I love that it shows real time progress so I know exactly when it's received. If there is ever a delay, they email or text me to let me know why. Customer service is 24/7 and excellent. UPDATE: The last two updates have made the app impossibly slow. On both my phone and my husband's, the app freezes or crashes most of the time. What changed?
Sendwave was great before. I had not used it for a few months, then tried to send funds again, I had to verify my ID all over again. then had to verify who I was sending too, which I gave details for. paid for some graphics services but the guy just had a business Facebook page. because they couldn't verify an actual website they refused the payment. Told me my account was on hold or blocked. Crazy thing is they won't say why so I can fix the issue. Bad policy.
I loved this app at first as it was my go to app for sending money to family but recently I have so many issues it's unreal! Have been waiting for a limit increase for months now, called customer service and each time I'm told it would be 24 hours and someone will contact me, nothing since then! Also I miss the little penguin flying across the screen when the transaction was in progress, I don't care for the update at all but it is what it is, I'll start looking for other options soon!
This app use to be great for sending money but now it's not. You send money and the OTP doesn't get sent to the recipient. Don't get me started on calling them because at the minimum, you'll be in "queue" for at least 45mins to get to customer service. I have had to call them several times for this issue and I remember at one point I suggested they send the OTP also to the sender, that way, customers wouldn't have to call but that was not heeded. I'm researching another company now.
I have been using Sendwave for years now. I tried other apps too because of their promised high rates but I have to admit Sendwave is my go to even with the low rates because of the convenience. Also they would never take money from my account if the transfer didn't go through and the transfers always go through almost immediately. Highly recommended. I just wished they had better rates, other than that, everything else is great.
This is the worst app I have ever had I my entire life. Every single day, the app is having issues. I cannot last a day without issue with sending money. I would advise other people to use other applications. They would add 'cancel the money transfer " if the money is still in processing mode. Most of the time when you send money it shows that the app is having technical issues. If the money has been sent but not delivered, it will show processing. If you know they give you 24 to 48 hours.
They've been ok for awhile until you experience a delay then it's: No preemptive measures were put in place to alert clients of delays until after the fact. No action was taken to resolve the issue after hours of patiently waiting. No clear reason were put forward as to why there was a delivery delay other than our partners are experiencing a problem. No attempts were made to resolve the matter in other ways including issuing a refund. Overall poor service delivery and poor customer service.
I offer this constructive feedback as a loyal customer with close to $100k transfers on this App. A recent transaction went through without confirming my password. Customer service said it was due to an "advanced security" update. I find that explanation unreasonable and counterintuitive, especially as most Apps are pivoting to 2-factor authentication. Please restore the confirmation password. Also, it would be nice to have the option to lock the App with a PIN when the phone is idle. Thanks!
App. doesn't work. Submitted I.D. & video selfie & was unable to send money from my debit card. I checked my card, called the bank, looked online, & there were no issues with my card. Even tried another card & same issue. Called customer service, & they said an automated system decides whether to process a transaction or not & that there's no explanation they can give for why it would not go through and be delivered. Don't waste your time with this app (too much control for automation).
Used to be a great app. My go-to app for sending money. Two days ago I made a transaction and it has still not been processed. I contacted customer service through chat and, after waiting 35 minutes, was told the transaction was in it's final phase and they would let me know when it completed. I asked why and they said because of a problem on their partners end. Too much volume they say. No way to cancel transaction. I made another transaction today and it went through immediately.
Mixed bag. At first, the service was pretty seamless, no issues whatsoever. However, my last 4 transactions have been a nightmare. All of a sudden, the transactions keep getting delayed. Sometimes, I have to contact customer service, and they'll tell me it's the receiving country's servers are down. Other times, they'll straight up cancel the transaction. I'm really considering looking for service elsewhere.
The login process has proven to be very difficult and will discourage anyone who tries to use it. I would bet that very few people uses this app because of it. If you enter a miss type it rejects as invalid, and even when corrected the programing still reflects invalid. Attempting to receive email it says sent pass code reset & it never sends it. This is not a good app at all to use. If I could I would give it a half star. It opens and has features, so it's a one star .
Very unreliable. I was sending money for emergency reason. There was an error in the app when I was sending the money and they asked me to wait a bit and then try to send it again. I waited a little bit and tried resending again. Not only did the error occurred again but the money was deducted from my account. I called Sendwave but they couldn't offer any help. telling me that the transaction didn't happen. I waited 7 business days for me to get my money back. Unreliable!!
Began great, ended up with zero support. I used it for several years without any problems. But as of Feb. 2025, it drastically changed, and removed my password to get money (so there goes security). Support staff don't help, just tell you to re-start the app. I was promised a call-back regarding my problems, and never received one.
