It has an English UI until you go deeper. For you example the rewards survey jdjn a language foreign to myself. You don't need the app really to use the product. Using the app is more frustration then any use. Personally a gimmick rather than an actual useful product that possibly raises the cost of the product.
Reviews for Shokz
← Back to ShokzWish there were more control customization such as triple tap or single tap controls, the open fits feel like a downgrade in accessibility because my controls are limited to four things. Plus I would rather have double tap left and right as my previous/next buttons and hold to play/pause but that is not an option for some reason. I hate to be critical because I love the brand, but I really hope the controls become more customizable, because like I said, the open airs almost feel like a downgrade
Junk. Got openfit earbud set les than a year ago. Right one stopped working, first delivering tiny zaps to my ear, then no sound at all, and wouldn't light up. When I refreshed in the app, the system stopped connecting to my phone altogether, so I can't even use the left one only. Have tried 8 times to get help from customer service. Useless and insulting
I was having issues like everyone else where after the last update my OpenFit headphones stopped connecting to the app. Customer support had me reset the headphones but that did not help. I ended up uninstalling the app, then reinstalling, and now I can connect to the app again. It's not what should have to be done, but hopefully this works for others too.
Pleased to see there's an app but would love to get more out of it. Two things specifically. First and probably actually achievable is the ability to disable and enable functions. I never ever ever want any press of the main button to redial the last caller or answer a call. I only want it to control whatever media I'm listening to. If anything I want to send incoming calls direct to voice mail. The other is the ability to edit the built in ring tone even if it's only a dozen notes or so.
I love these headphones but one thing that drives me crazy is once I turn them on they lower my ringtone volume all the way down. Once I turn them off the volume for ringtones stays all the way down. I am missing calls and it is very frustrating. Now I have reconnect them all the time because they refuse to play sound from YouTube or other apps. Using s22 ultra. Doesn't happen with any other pair of headphones. Great technology but terrible customer support.
Can't use app with out location 🙄 they state it's so they can determine what language to set the app. That is a very sorry excuse. They can already tell what language you speak from the countrys app store you download it from. You can also have the user choose what language they want, because Location access doesn't necessarily tell you what language you speak, especially in the US. All in all, I believe it's a sorry excuse to data mine your info with so many other options to ask users. Delete.
Does not work with NEW (purchased 11/24/2023) OpenRun. I don't have the pro, but why is the app limited to only 2 products. That's ridiculous. I would expect a brand new pair of headphones to work with the current app. I notice that it has been this way for awhile. I'm a software engineer myself, and they're literally no reason for this. It is a business decision, obviously, and is a bad look.
Pros: Works fine if you turn on a GPS spoofing app - app thinks I'm in the middle of the ocean. You rarely need to open the app. Cons: Requiring precise location "to set app language" is patently absurd and a huge red flag. There is a language option in the settings, and it remembers your selection regardless of location. Most apps will ask your language on installation and remember it. The assertion that they require PRECISE location EVERY TIME you open the app, sounds extremely sketchy.
Update: the developer has updated the app to remove all permissions other than that of Bluetooth. The app is streamlined and easy to use, and, most importantly, doesn't require location permissions. The only comment I have for improvement would be more settings to adjust the headset. For example, options to change the audible "beep" or silence it completely when you press a button on the headset. Thank you to the developer for removing the location requirement.
While the headphones are great, the multipoint pairing feature is a huge disappointment. It says it's "seamless" so I assumed automatic, however that's not the case. The feature becomes utterly pointless when I still have to unlock my phone and open the app to tell the headphones to connect to the second device. I might as well just turn off Bluetooth, it's quicker than opening the app. Also, "multi" point is leading. It should be bi-point or duo-point since it only allows 2 devices.
As you've replied to everyone, "the location data is only used to set language". You could either set it without location OR use it to set it once. Once it's set, why won't you let me open the app again with it off? You save the setting and move on. Your forcing of location permission each time is suspicious when there are simple development choices you could make to avoid it.
I do not want to share my location for a 'language' selection, make a drop down menu like everyone else. It is beyond inappropriate to be asking for this type of personal information, especially after dropping $200 for a premium product. Edit: after looking though the setting options (with a GPS spoofer) they do have a menu for selecting language. And it overrides the 'location' selected language, almost like living in one country does not deside the language you feel most confident using.
The app cannot find the OpenFit device if you have "Sound Assistant" from Goodlock (Samsung) installed. The app idles in "Still Searching" if downloaded. Took me about 2 hours to figure this out, so hopefully this helps others. Sound quality is great, and the equalizer option is fantastic since my hearing is terribly sensitive to higher frequencies. I'm also a trade worker, so I need to be aware of my surroundings on sites, and this is far more preferred than noise canceling earbuds.
I just got the OpenFit Air and immediately returned them when I realised that they can't support more than four actions (single or double tap left or right). That's enough for start/stop, volume up, volume down and skip forward. No skip back, which is a basic function that I use all the time. I could use the app to reassign skip forward to skip back, but then I don't have skip forward, which is also a function I use regularly. Why not provide triple tap for additional actions?
In today's world, every purchase counts. So after spending so much time researching, and so much money investing in the Shokz OpenFit 2, I was honestly thrilled when the Find My Earbuds function helped me recover a missing earbud from the parking lot at work, saving me $180 right there! Also, not only do I appreciate the customizable EQ, I like that the EQ you set stays as your designated EQ every time you use the earbuds and you don't have to open the app every time to set it. Thank you!
text on S24 is so tiny it is completely illegible, and need to use the stylus to select any buttons due to the display being so small. It took a lot of effort to even select the mandatory check boxes to register, because they were so small it was Impossible to get them to respond to finger touch and difficult even with the stylus. worst app ive ever encountered, as it is all but unusable on a popular flagship phone. enough to make me return the headphones.
I think needing an app to properly use my headphones is kinda wacky and pointless. I only downloaded it because the touch controls on my Air's was driving me nuts, and you can't even really change those settings... they are still preset to what combos the company wants. Glad I was able to access the bass boost at least.. overall like my headphones, they have insane range from my phone but the controls are weird and accidentally getting hit alot, or closing the case stops playing.
These headsets may be OK for a phone but not so much for a PC. I downloaded this app to try to update the firmware, and even though the device was 1 foot from the phone, it would never connect. it just kept saying, "Searching". I tried to find a support article for this, but no matter how I phrased i couldn't find what i needed. I ended up asking AI for help. That's how I found out about the possible fix through firmware. I give a 2 instead of a 1 because it seems to work somewhat on a phone.
Had version one. Loved them, lost one, bought version two. Outstanding! Except: putting them in the case doesn't turn them off. I'll be in bed listening to music and it'll suddenly shut off. Check it, it connected to the headphones in their closed case in another room. I have to unpair unless I am actively using them. Please make them perfect.
