Reviews for SimplyWise: Receipts, Expenses

I have tried a lot of receipt scanners but eventually the software would stop working with my computer... but now this app has been making it easier for me to scan in and organize my receipts. I've been using it to track business expenses and it makes it much faster to upload and file away receipts until tax time--and then export my data whenever I need to pull it. Have recommended this to other people in my form.

I have used this app for about 6 months, purchased version, but not the business version. Up until the last update the app did everything I needed it to do. I loved it. Now mot so much. Now I am having the same problems that the review from VB on 10/30/23 lines out. Very frustrating. Please get the performance back to what it was a few weeks back.

Had it installed for 5 minutes and it's buggy. Initially went into 'Work' folder, backed out, created two additional folders, and my new document went into the 'Work' folder that I was not in. There's no option to create hierarchical folders, folders that are nested within another folder. So it may be work folder, but I cannot save receipts according to each job or client. It's useless to me without this functionality. If you have very few receipts to scan then this may be a useful app.

I'm pretty disappointed. I wanted to try out the free version of the app and determine whether it's worth paying for the premium options. The free version was incredibly glitchy on my Samsung device. Every time I tried to create my own categories rather than select the default ones, it would allow me to search for an icon, but tapping on the icon I wanted did absolutely nothing. I was unable to move past this. The only way I was able to continue setup was if I selected at least 3 default options

So I've just started and setting up the app and below start trial it says start 7 day free trial, then I can toggle the switch to yearly or weekly. It says the weekly is $4.99 a week (Which would be $259.48 a year) and then the yearly states it's $89.99 the says cancel anytime. So is this not a free app to use? Because on the reviews I seen someone had used the free version for 5 months, why am I offered a 7 day free trial? Should I just delete it now?

I like this app. Allows me to throw away receipts and clustered documents. Is really helping me keep organized. But I discovered today that I cannot zoom in on the photo documents. If there is a way, I'd appreciate the secret. But if not, then why does this app not have that feature? If I need to read something small on a document, I can't zoom in and that one feature defeats my whole purpose in using this app. Please integrate this feature!

I'm trying out budget aps. This one tracks through email receipts and receipts you enter by taking a picture. I don't see a way to just track starting with 1-1-24. My 2023 email receipts are included. This is just confusing. It also means I have fewer receipts I can have before I have to pay $29.99 for a year of unlimited scans. The worst part is there is no way I can see to get customer service.

Buggy (receipts often don't save properly). Also this will only categorize your receipts, whether email or paper; you can reconcile with bank transactions (when that works) although I'm not sure what use that would be, but you can't categorize bank transactions that you don't have a receipt for without manually creating a blank receipt and typing all the transaction info in. And to top it off, you can't export to a spreadsheet without a $90 yearly subscription on TOP of the $30 for basic use!

I purchased the PRO version of this app for personal and business use. I am very disappointed. I wasted a few hours of my valuable time. The app will not let me create rules (saves hrs). It is extremely slow. Syncing accounts is very difficult. The app freezed a few times. This is day 1 and i am not a finance guru or accustomed with these type of apps; but for me to have this many issues on day 1 caused me to leave. Quickbooks is $15 a month, almost the same price... except it's a solid product.

I scanned 33 CVS receipts to test. The app only picked up the right date and total on 2 of them. Receipts were crisp and clear. I noticed that if the month and day were before today's month and day, it would automatically make the date 2024 (even tho the date was in 2023). This is a logic error as it was reading the month and day fine. I had to keep manually updating the year. The total was more successful, but it was only about 70/30.

I usually don't leave reviews for apps, but this one deserves it. It keeps surprising me with cool features. Like how I just walked out of Lowe's, and I received a notification asking if I'd like to import the receipt that was just sent to my email. It even added to my calendar the last day my items are returnable, 90 days from today. Rarely do I find an app like this that, not only makes my life easier, but does so autonomously.

Very good app for keeping up with paper and digital receipt, automatically scans your emails you choose to connect and tracks your mileage as well. As I said it's features are simple and easy to understand, only downside is you only get so many scans and saves and then you have to subscribe and pay monthly. In my opinion, this is one app that would be worth it, I just have to many subscriptions as is, lol.

The app works well but it has some hangups. It doesn't do well scanning long receipts and will miss about half of the line items or mistake a coupon line as a purchased item, so I had to enter a lot of it by hand, which defeats the purpose of the scanner. It is not free and kind of expensive IMO. You get 250 saves, and then you have to subscribe to the personal plan for $29.99/yr or the business plan (which offers more features) for $89.99/yr. It's not bad but could be better for the price point

I love this app!!! Super easy to use to save and file receipts. You can text pictures of your receipts, email in receipts, and set up your email to auto feed them into the system. Super easy to pull reports from. You can even set up auto reports to be pulled and sent to you. Reports can be pulled from any individual category or some or all and can include actual pictures of the receipts. This app has made saving and filing receipts for taxes soooo easy!!!!

Skip. The so called free version only allows 50 saves and then you have to pay $30 annually to use it. Its reciepts, its not worth it. There are free apps for that. Customer service sucks, very dry people. They don't offer any discounts or promotions. They don't offer a lifetime version when you can pay a flat rate once. Personally, I'm not interested in another yet subscription. And the whole "free" version is bait and switch. Uninstalling the app and highly recommending looking elsewhere.

Now, a REAL review: WARNING!! Avoid! The app tricks you to give them your phone number before you find out how expensive it is. Also they are spamming my email address even though I opted out durring setup. Now I regret giving my phone#. The price is not an option. In the free version, you can't do anything worthwhile. Sometimes you have to re-scan receipts to get accurate readings. For the price, it needs to be flawless. UPDATE: The business version option is a must but its almost $100/yr.

Tried the app for a week. It wasn't able to read the receipts half of the time and I could not use email receipts at all since Yahoo is not supported. Amazon receipts worked better, although "deal" discounts were not linked to the item so it was difficult to properly track. All in all, more trouble than it helps. Definitely not worth the price.

👌 Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for. Can keep my recipes organized in categories. Can add categories that use image icons. Works with camera or files. The scan can automatically fill out the information in which to file. I can add note. Plus it even offers a remind for a return limit date. Already knowing when that date would by after scanning it came from walmart! I look forward to using this app this year and not care to keep paper recipes around. 😁👍

I have been using the free version for about 5 months now. I am a small business owner and have a very difficult time keeping up with my expnses. This is a digital filing cabinet and works great! I toss my receipts, bills, business cards, etc. After recording them in the app. You can export a folder through email but only share files through text.

For the most part, it seems to work just fine. The biggest downside I've discovered is that the app will sometimes "forget" all the information that it just gathered from the picture of a receipt. This happened if I was trying to create or edit a folder while entering receipt information. It would forget the store name and dollar amounts that had been there just a moment ago. It's a bit too much work to be useful for my needs. I won't be keeping this app.
