Would give 5 stars but after I repaid my loan they now suddenly cant verify my debit card. Went to IQ for help. After 3 messages they kick you out unless you pay. Tried going to help>support. Page comes up white and blank every time. Tried reopening the app, same issue. No options to reconnect card and when I try to update the card it tells me card it says it's already being used.. What a headache!

I've contacted customer (non) service twice who were going to find out why my profile was stuck in that part of the process and no one's ever gotten back to me and it's still stuck. I tried to delete my profile and it won't even do that. What the hell solo??? odds are So Low I'll ever recommend you! wow. zero follow up or help!
I have tried so many times I've lost count trying to get help from this app. I had paid off 53 loans on time. For some reason, the last loan I paid off and was confirmed paid off by the lender and solo tech support, is still showing to be past due on my account on the app. I have submitted request after request and half the time don't even get an email back. And when they have tried to fix it, they just stop responding after a day or two. Terrible customer service.
Another update. So the app finally worked and I was able to get one loan and have since paid it back. However, when I started with SoLo months ago I signed up with the bank account I had at the time. Since then I was able to consolidate my auto loan, and checking account to Capital One but once you sign up you can't change accounts. Cust service never responds either 🤷🏼♀️ App is still useless!
I can't get you to accept my account. the system is tied into knots, and support never responds appropriately to my issue. you can't remove payment methods if they are the default...even when they are clearly bugged and the system is simultaneously claiming, verification error? Who is responsible for this pile of programming slop? Was it a hard concept to not save payment information, or at the least not lock it to the default position, if it can't be verified?
A little annoying that direct deposit isn't available for funding loans yet since I had to sort out a disabled debit card first. Once all of the connection stuff is figured out the rest of the process is pretty intuitive. Edit: It was a much better app until they started basically wiping out any money you make if the loan is even a few days late in being repaid.
Absolutely abysmal customer service. Had an old account on file, was approved to borrow and was just waiting for for my new account to be verified. And then I waited. And waited. and my repayment day was approaching so I was just going to repay the loan with the money I was never able to withdraw, and then as a "courtesy" they auto withdrew the money to the account I no longer had access to and was waiting to be updated. Emailed them twice and no response at all. 0 stars if I could.
I cant even sign up! Very annoying every time i enter my phone number it sends a code i fill in the code. then it asks for my email address and sends another message with a link. After i hit the link it takes me right back to my starting point to do the same thing all over again repeating the same steps in order to sign up and log in. It repeats the same 2 requests phone number then emaill address over and over again never logging you in! I've tried several times wasting my time.
This app has been incredibly helpful for me in the past, but for weeks, despite having a high score on the site and having a positive balance, I get a "check balance" error and can't make a new request. I've contacted customer service multiple times to no avail. Good luck getting to talk to a real person. This experience has been frustrating, especially when the status page says everything is operational, which is misleading, as I can see from these reviews I'm not the only one having issues.
It is taking so long for my info to get verified. I've reached out more than once, but never heard back. Edit: My info was verified, then something happened with my account that caused another disconnection. I've also never gotten a loan. It expires after 3 days of being in the marketplace. There's really no point to this app.
I have found myself in a jam more than once and the SoLo app/community has come through for me each time. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is you already tip the person who offers the loan, then the app ALSO charges a percentage of the loan AND takes out a small fee if you want express/same day deposit to your bank account instead of waiting 2-3 days. Still, the amount you can request increases with on-time payment and great to access in a jam.
I use to love it, but last 2 months, it's been the worst, nevrt got my money back, some are pending payback for over a few weeks, some are finding accepted for over a month, and the support just doesn't do anything, they say we will talk to technical department, and after that nothing!!! update: the customer service is just non existent, they always escalate the issue, but not once did they resolve it!
Can't really speak on the app since it won't verify my payment method. It's my debit card I've had for years with true banking history, yet it's been "verifying" since this morning. Not sure what the verification is, and why it's not completing itself. But I keep getting emails telling me to take out a request when the app still says it's verifying me...
Every once in a while I'll have issues with payback, but customer service has always been super helpful and able to fix the issue(s) quickly! Otherwise, easy user interface and overall great app. I like the option to play games to earn credits now as well! This app has been a lifesaver when I'm a little short on bills. It's a great way to take out small loans if you have low or bad credit.
I just feel like even though they claim its peer to peer, they have extremely high fees on top of the lending system. so if you borrow $150, youre paying 22.50 for a "tip" and then they want a 10% tip on top of it. Not to mention when you withdraw the money, they have another fee if you want it "instantly". And they'll say "You can tip what you want". Then you just get counter offers for the max possible tip amount. It's just another scummy system to keep you in debt. I would avoid.
It was great while I could use it. Eventually a bug developed in the system saying I had an active loan out when I didn't. You could see I paid everything back. Customer Service is very non responsive, I emailed them on September 5th. The issue is not resolved and they have stopped responding. I don't often review apps but felt that its important for this one. It concerns me that they have my banking information but I cannot use their services.
The App and its lenders are a God send. and definitely helps when needed. The only issue is that the auto payment doesn't reflect repayments on time.. mine is still showing pending from a month ago( even when i repayed early). And it doesn't allow a new request. I've contacted support, and still no resolution. I'll change it to 5 stars when my account is updated correctly .
This app has now not worked for o er a year. my loan was finally canceled after a month. The funds were in my wallet but couldn't be withdrawn. now when I go to request a loan it says I either have a loan outstanding ( my loan history says otherwise) or on the website it says it's still verifying me. I also can't get any clear answer on what was wrong. All support is good for is saying, we have escalated your case. Escalated? It has been over a year.
This app is useless, i enter my number, loads for about 2 seconds, crashes, I enter my email, then it immediately asks for number, enter that, crashes. Tried with browser, only to be told that the marketplace is unavailable to me, they can't verify my Identity. Everything clear, up to date, authentic. Support can't do anything, can't even say why this happens. Their system does this, they have no ability to bypass or help you manually. System controls support (yes, they told me this themselves!)
9-24-24: This used to be a good platform to use, even after the banking issues it was ok. But now it's a few months past their transition, and once again I can't cash out all of my funds. Their reason? "Oh we are doing upgrades again." So I can't even get the money that was approved, but I'm going to be expected to pay everything back plus the tip to the lender, plus the tip to Solo which it seems they can't even use properly to make their system work or hire more programmers. NOT RECOMMENDED!
