Reviews for Songsterr Guitar Tabs & Chords

This could be really great, but there are some issues. AI doesn't pick all the notes up in the tabs you add. The tabs need the lyrics on them so it's easier to follow if you're using some of them as a crutch while playing live. Then the $10/month is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! IF some of those things were changed I'd give it 5 stars for sure, but in it's present state, it's worth maybe $2/month currently.

At one point I would have recommended this app, but the new UI change has made the app less user-friendly on mobile phones. It is harder to access track settings, takes up more space on the tabs than the old one (which didnt at all), and for some reason, now you have to pause to change the track seeking where as before you didnt. I wholeheartedly believe this was in good faith, but it was poorly executed and I really hope they plan to change this or allow user preference on what layout to use.

Most of the features have been paywalled off now so I can't recommend this. Useful for searching for tablature, but now you have to pay $10 a month to rewind, change tempo, change tuning, isolate tracks, probably more that I've missed, all of which used to be free so long as you signed in. Also the ads? "Your phone may be infected!" seriously? You lost yourself a star just for that.

Solid app with a thorough catalogue of song tabs from just about every genre and era for guitar, bass and drums — even a number of tabs for other instruments such as the flute and saxophone. The only reason I gave this 4 stars as opposed to 5 is that there are a few tabs here and there where certain crucial things, primarily the tuning, are just downright incorrect. It's not a huge issue, but it's an inconvenience that I hope the developers can improve. Besides that, it's phenomenal!

My go-to source for tabs for nearly 8 years! This site/app has been the best I've used for so long. There have been some instances where I use a different site due to an inaccurate tab, but that is once in a blue moon. Otherwise, Songsterr is incredible, and 90-95% of the tabs here are accurate. The accessibility options are very nice to use as well, especially the metronome, speed control, soloing/muting other tracks, and, of course, looping!

I was paying for the membership. It's inaccurate on quite a bit of the metal music I look up and try to learn when it comes to all instruments. There's no way to fix or update the tabs yourself or to save your own version and add to it or modify it. There's constant bugs that mess up playback, like it getting out of sync, or just not playing at all and require me to exit and restart the app. Great concept but poorly executed at the moment. Hopefully some updates will fix the issues this app has.

I've been using songsterr for years, and recently, there have been bugs, and it's just getting frustrating. It's gotten to the point that i am debating switching to another platform. I press play on a song, and oh guess what, that song doesn't want to play unless I close out of the tab and reopen it, but then I lose my place. Don't get me wrong, this is a great app, but it's starting to feel neglected due to bugs, especially when trying to play a song, and it just never plays.

Used to love this app but its almost useless for learning unless you pay. I wrote this review because with the new update I can't choose to skip to a spot and start there I have to listen through the entire song to get where I want to work. And if I want go back and listen to a spot again... gotta go back to the beginning of the song and listen through. So unless you plan on paying( I would if I played more) expect nothing but a tab and some backing. 3☆'s but no one actually reads 3☆ reviews

Great selection of interactive tabs and has been a permanent fixture of my guitar hobby. I've been a free user for over 15 years and got by just fine. But with that said, I would've loved the option to just pay $100 or whatever for lifetime premium access. Because I can't justify $10/month for this for decades on end when all it is at the end of the day is a media player for user-submitted content.

Songsterr used to be the HOLY GRAIL of guitar tab apps, but since some of the last updates it has been SO FRUSTRATING TO USE! Everytjme I click on a song the video is always out of sync, or the tabs are fully wrong, or the backing track is out of time with the click, the tabs aren't synced, I have to reload the app everytime I want change parts in a song. it just does not work anymore which is very unfortunate. I've used this app for 4 years with premium please fix :(

This is the best tab app I've ever used. After the semi recent update, the use of ai, to help create or find the audio for the tabs has actually been awesome. Im able to request solo forms of the tabs to hear along with the tabs being traced, and that's changed a lot with learning anything. This is possibly the best tab app, I haven't tried all of them, of course.

I have been a repeat customer since 2023, and I really took the "plus" for granted. If you don't have plus, and wish to use the ai, it gives you 20 seconds of a song... what am I doing with 20 seconds of tabs? Not only that, they removed the out of sync button and I'm still out of sync, even with synths.

A tad bit buggy on occasion, but usually works well. I would really appreciate the ability to edit tabs on mobile. Other than muscore, this doesn't exist. at the very least, an option to submit an AI tab would be nice. This isn't a crisicism of only the app, but the website, too. I really dislike how our list of favorites works. Could we get something more akin to a music streaming service? Sort, filter and grouping options. By artist, alphabetical, most recent etc. album art via YT

AI TABS. You can generate tabs from at least guitar and bass, and it can tell what tuning and strings it is. Literally the best app for guitar or, in my case, bass tabs. On top of being the best in every way, there's hardly ads and it's all free. No songs locked out. And probably the biggest song collection out of any of the apps I tried.

Look, for finding quick songs it's a good jumper, specifically to me I'm a bass player. I find some of the tabs inaccurate sometimes but that's fine, chord progression makes up for that. If you use plus on here it's easy to ai tabs for songs which is useful for getting an idea of how more underground people play. Out of that it's a very good app, id recommend it.

This is not a streaming service with new shows every week. It's a large library of tabs that sometimes gets new ones. You used to be able to do a one-time purchase and just have it. I'm not subscribing to the library bro. The music player bugs out basically everytime you use it, forcing you to exit and try again, only to be greeted with a billboard ad for what feels like the longest minute of your life. I have a feeling another 10$ month subscription to greedsterr won't fix that either.

Excellent tool for beginners. I am using it to play bass! I pay the monthly fee. Highly recommended for the percentage speed feature. Worth every penny. I do wish I could select the looping feature, set to a percentage speed, then have the remainder of the song maintain original chosen speed. It's the only quality of life item I would change.

Excellent guitar tablature tool...I like how you can play along with each individual instrument (including drums), slow the song down at which ever speed you're comfortable with while learning and the wide array of songs offered. Very fun to use. Also, very responsive and helpful support staff. Any issues and they fix it very promptly and efficiently. Thanks!

used to be able to just make a one-time purchase and have the app. I've done that at least twice and unfortunately you can't retroactively even get that back. that seems like fraud on top of now it's about $10 a month for definitely a subpar service. if it was a one-time fee I would definitely buy it again. I think you forget the internet's free. why does YouTube cover up all the notes? useless. I get you need ads but maybe at the end of the song instead of the middle

This app is really nice for tricky parts in some songs, or if your brain needs a little help figuring out that weird blibble that you can't seem to get right. BUT, the plus features are unavailable to me. I have tried subscribing. However, it denies the transaction with an error saying my account is compromised, which it is not. Please fix this issue so I can fully utilize this useful tool and rule the world with my 4 strings of thunder. Thank you
