Sonos Beam no longer detected in app. Microphone functionality stopped working. Updating the systems wifi via the app doesn't work. Updated to 2.4 GHz successfully but still not seen in app. Can't update to 5.0 GHz because "something happened". Back to the game of setting up as a new system and hope it lasts longer than a couple of days. The various app updates have not improved the issue of your Sonos system disappearing in the app.

Gets the prize for my least reliable phone app. When I'm playing Pandora songs on my Sonos Sound bar, it typically drops out a few seconds especially about 15 seconds before the end of the song or often about 15 seconds after the start of a song. My standard (non-sonos) Pandora app never drops out, so there's no problem with the wifi, and a weak wifi wouldn't be synchronized with the start or end of songs. I keep updating to newer versions of the Sonos app, but so far have been disappointed.

No air play for the $$$$ spent is simply unacceptable and their music app interface, which is the only way to use the speakers, is the worst I ever encountered. Forget this product and company until they stop trying to lock purchasers into their stupid app. If you buy this product, you better know exactly what you want to listen to at all times cause that is the only way you can easily access and play what you want. browsing for ideas is impossible... well, at least horrible. Sound is good.

So Sonos...now you've deleted all my Sonos Playlist. Super. This is in addition to streaming to multiple rooms, still cutting off the end of songs. Much as I love the speakers, I can't see myself buying any more equipment given that you still haven't dealt with the mess your app "upgrade" created. So disappointing 😞

I am constantly having to reconnect to the internet with this app. I have had to delete the app and reinstall it several times and hopes that it would work. It constantly loses connection with the sound bar and the speakers. It continually loses connection with the internet in my home. Update I downloaded the Sonos 1 app and I haven't had the problem I had with the sosns 2 only. I have both and it works great for some reason. I keep hearing that Sonos is working on the issue no updates yet!

UPDATE: Still complete garbage. ORIGINAL: Come on Sonos, you can do a lot better. This app is garbage and was not ready for release. It doesn't do the basics. When I open the app, 75% chance it won't recognize my system. The only solution is to close the app and try again. When it does recognize the system, there is an enormous amount of lag between music selection and actual music playing. Also, enormous lag between volume changes. Visually it is nice. Functionally it is terrible.

I want to love Sonos so badly - maybe because I've sunk so much $ into this ecosystem. Everything used to work great. But here we are a year+ later after the app disaster, and it still just doesn't work well. Every time I launch the app, System Not Found. I have adapted and now know if I want to play music, I need to launch the app, and then wait a few minutes for it to find itself (yes, a literal few minutes). And that is just the beginning of the issues, the volume is a mess, etc.

The promised updates to fix the broken app have made things worse. Expensive speakers are now barely useable and drop out all the time. Adding a playlist to the queue will now duplicate it 30,000 times and only play the same 15 songs or so over and over again. Can't add any addition songs. I feel bad for getting family and friends in to Sonos. Used to be amazing. What a huge disappointment. Stick to real HiFi audio, Sonos is a joke. Update: it's getting worse and crashing frequently now.

App update 2-7-2025, increased to 3 stars from 1 star, it's better but still some glitches. All speakers connected but still cut in and out for about the first 5 minutes. Getting closer but I feel like Sonos doesn't want me to use Google Play Music on an Android phone. Original review: Unable to connect more than one speaker at a time. I just updated the app and it is still beyond garbage. If you're thinking about buying Sonos... DON'T DO IT!

Edit again: still sucks in Feb '25. Every time I put down my phone, gets lost and requires restart. Sometimes that won't help. Volume works but not much else Edit: still 1 star. Interface hasn't improved. And extremely slow to use. Every time I pick up my phone to use the app, takes forever to respond Edit: I've reduced my rating to 1 star.

Every time I open the app i have to reconnect it to the amp. Music streaming services don't perform the same on the Sonos app , and are limited to only what sonos supports ( not downloaded music on a mp3 player app, or youtube). If they put a Bluetooth option it would fix all of these problems. As for the tv sound system, plugged in it sometimes takes a second to turn the audio on and doesn't remember what the volume was. But it is controlled by the tv volume or on app.

Recently bought believing they were fixing the issues. It must not be fixed! I spent the first 20 min. of a Christmas party I was hosting plugging and unplugging speakers, rebooting my router, force stopping and restarting my app, adding and removing speakers. I could never get all to work. Sometimes one or two would show up. Other times, they all showed up but wouldn't all play, even when selected. Removing a playing one would make one of the non working ones kick in. Nightmare! Regretful buy!

I don't understand how a speaker app makes it impossible to do the most basic action: choosing your sound source. I have a Bluetooth source, Internet, and line in and I just want to decide which of those plays on my speaker group. completely impossible, can't be done. if I turn on my Bluetooth device it will play on one speaker immediately. if I play from alexa or Spotify it plays on my group. can't switch between them or change after it starts. nonsense.

Went from bad to working back to bad. I've been a sonos user for at least 10 years. I was part of the update that was an epic fail. Then, several months back (end of 2024,I think), the app started working for me with that update. Then, around the end of March 2025-another update, and it's back to not working again! When I open the app, repeatedly I get the message "No system found".Sometimes it works. Most it doesn't. This is betond frustrating.

The hardware is awesome. The app, not so much. It's heavily dependent on your system being set up on a single network, which works great for everything that isn't a Sonos Roam. If you have the Roam and take it on the road with you, the app refuses to function if you're sitting on any WiFi network that isn't your home network, such as a work network. I use my Roam via Bluetooth while I'm at work, and it would be nice if I could view the battery status instead of guessing what the charge is.

how is this app still horrible? the app forgot my living room so I went to add it back and the app insists I don't have location services on and it won't go into setup until I turn it on, but it's on. At least the Soundbar has a physical connection to the tv but it is absolutely astounding that after a year, they're still committed to destroying brand trust.

1 year later and the app is still horrible. Open app, music services don't load. Still occasional get no speakers found. and now my sonos 1 Gen 2 just died, which seems to have around a 5 year life span. so even the hardware is poor quality... no more sonos purchases when the rest of my prodcuts go... omg fix this app. my music services dissapear constantly. I can't even change the song.

The app used to work really really well for a long time, I would say for about a 2 years come and tell about the last 6 months when it continuously has issues by crashing, not registering the device that's been registered for 3 years, not playing when expected. It's been a bit of a pain to use and since there's no other way to manage the beam without the app, they pretty much have you in a chokehold.

Horrible app. Searches and other functionality are bad. Plus every other time the app opens it can't find any Sonos, so I have to open it, close it, and reopen it every time I want to use it. I am so sick of not being able to control my Sonos because of this horrible app. This app is the reason I started buying other brands of speakers. just an update that it is STILL horrible. half the time it won't connect at all and the other half, it ignores me trying to change the volume.

As of 9/2025, Sonos app has been connecting reliably with devices after several seconds. Connection is stable. UI still isn't my favorite, but it hasn't caused me any hassle lately like it used to. I'd love to manage directly from Spotify which Sonos speakers (groups) are being used. Overall, if recent improvements have been made, they fixed my biggest pain points. 👍
