as a long time user i have always liked this app the best, but i'm at 4 or 5 songs in a row that it just repeatedly saves the search instead of telling me what the song is and i don't have time for that. nobody does. i'll give it a few more days, but this is waiting too long for the fix already. this kind of problem should be addressed on day 1.

I paid for this app and used to love using it. Now, I'm very unhappy with how the app has been working. It seems that if I try to listen to a song or group of songs using the in-app history using YouTube or even Spotify, all I get these days is "an error occurred initializing the YouTube player. Then there is when I try to do a search using the search, it's unable to find anything, a waste of time. If I try another music search-type app, that app seems to locate the song, usually in seconds.

Takes too long to load and it never gets a hit on new or slightly obscure songs. Even missed on a popular 70s song lately. The problems started several years ago and i just use the native "Now Playing" function more often than SoundHound even though it misses a lot too. Sorry that you've given up on your user base, I'll give you on you too

Have to drop my score down to one star. This app used to be amazing. It even used to recognized obscure foreign songs. Now however, it never recognizes anything. It just listens and says there were no matches, or says there's an error. I bought this app years ago because it was so good. But if they don't fix it soon, I'm moving to something else.

I really don't know what to say. By the time it gets done "polishing the records and dusting off the shelves," my sound clip pl is usually gone. It used to start searching almost instantly, but now the program seems to take forever to load even with the widget. The ability to find obscure and rare song says turned lackluster. Even songs that used to identify or no longer recognized. What happened?

You guys can't be serious with not having an option to turn this always listening bs off right? I don't want you listening to my microphone whenever because I maybe might accidentally say "Hey Soundhound" at some point. I didn't even realize you were doing it until I noticed the info about it in settings. It's super sketchy. I don't think I've ever expected a refund for something I've used so much, but this is absolutely not what I paid for. This needs to be sorted out.

For the past week or so any searches, text or audio, result in "Sorry, there was an error." Able to identify 80% of the time. When it can't, Google search can. Ability to identify correctly has gone down. There is no easy way to report problems (ideally including the sample) identifying. No way to report songs that were missed.

I've had this for several years, I got it back when google did the celebration sale. It was a much better app before. Now the app takes much longer to load (often missing the song entirely), and it doesn't even appear in the apps last used section to recall it quickly forcing a restart every time you leave it. I've noticed that it fails to notice songs far more often than it used to as well. I have Shazam pro too and I may have to switch to that as my default music search.

Freezes and crashes alot. It often takes longer to load up than the song lasts. I had an older version which came with a tablet I own, and that worked great. This version is so slow starting up that the song frequently ends before it begins to work. I went back to using another app which has an annoying amount of ads, just because it works quicker. For $5.99 I expect the app to work without issues.

This was the greatest apps at 1st. You could use the widget in a hurry or open the app& find the song playing even in a crowded place, until it went from finding many songs to hardly ever workin. Especially songs from Africa or other countries (there's a map in app). Music discovery? Yes, It allows U to save your searches to try later but majority of the time it still doesn't. It's disheartening, such a great app isn't fulfilling it's full potential. If it did I'd pay & 5 star it immediately.

This was a phenomenal app 7 or 8 years ago when I first started using it, but a few updates ago it started logging me out every time I exit the app. The app and widget are both useless if not signed in because it keeps throwing error messages when IDing songs, and by the time I get signed in again the song is usually done. When it works, it's great, the hard part is just getting it to work.

Ever since this company went public on the stock market it went down hill. My former review follows but now this doesn't identify the most popular songs, let alone uncommon ones. WHY??? Amazing and better than Shazam when it's working. For a while last few months it worked horrible and now it seems to be back working amazing even if in a store with a low volume speaker playing it IDs the song in a few seconds. Has really gone down hill since the summer. Have been using SoundHound since 2010, was far superior to any other competing app and service, but now it has crapped the bed. Haven't been able to successfully ID songs (in generally not noisy environments) since around August. No app updates to speak of to fix this. Shame, may abandon it after almost 15 years.

Used to be great. Doesn't work at all now. Like it can't hear anything. It has been given all necessary permissions but still can't ID anything. The icon pulses like it hears SOMETHING but at a different rhythm from any sounds in the room, then asks "singing or humming?" which usually indicates that it isn't hearing a song, then ultimately no result. Google IDs the song instantly from the same position, volume, and background noise. Same happens on my tablet. Sorry to see you go, SoundHound. 😞

Edit: this app now appears to be completely dead. Always "saves search for later" which reading between the lines I believe means the servers are gone. This used to work great. Now it has about a 30% success rate, and the lyrics scrolling is awful. It will be correct, and then just go and change itself. Pulls up obscure singles and compilation albums for songs instead of the main album it's on, usually meaning no lyrics at all when it does that.

DO NOT INSTALL! For the past few months and definitely the past several weeks this Does NOT capture any songs, not a single one. This has become a DEAD APPLICATION. I have the premium version and have used SoundHound for over a decade. I didn't think they even support the app any longer. I can't se to get assistance. Get the SHAZAM app. (3/18/2021) It finds 70% of songs on the first try. It only provides some lyrics of they are available. I have suggestions but I can't ask for perfection.

SoundHound is back! It struggled with a lack of updates and failed connectivity for a couple of years, but the most recent update has it working for me again, nice and fast! With this and a couple other song recognition apps to cross-check, I can usually get a solid ID on whatever is coming over the speakers or sung from my earworms.

This app used to be great but in the last few months it cannot identify this simplest songs quite frequently. Shazam, which I didn't want to use due to the direct connection to Apple music, turn down to be significantly better at. identifying songs. I really don't understand because I've used this app for years and it used to work great. Very disappointed that it no longer does.

Horrible. Won't search at all. When typing in a search query I receive "Sorry, there was an error". When searching for audio, it never finds anything, then when I play the clip back that was recorded, it is muffled, like I have the phone covered up, no matter if the phone is right next to the speaker, or several feet away. Not sure what happened to this app. It used to be amazing. I purchased it several years ago, and have tons of recognized and favorited songs...but now. Absolute garbage.

Bought this app years ago because it is an awesome app. but for the last 3 or so years, it became buggy. I notified the developers about it, but they don't care anymore. The playlist goes missing, doesn't recognize songs anymore. Really sad. I've been using Soundhound since the days it used to tell you what music ppl around you we're listening too. That was a great feature. Anyways, don't waste money on this app, not worth it anymore.
