Reviews for SoundWire Full-Audio Streaming

← Back to SoundWire Full-Audio Streaming

This app is incredible, and i love it. The only problem is the transmission of signal is a little delayed, so when i watch movie from the, computer, the sound on my mobile is not in sync. This is the only problem but overall, this app is amazing!

Essentially turns your phone into a wireless DAC with a little latency. Works well if you have a good connection, I wish it handled poor network situations better though without Opus compression (maybe with some sort of server-side FLAC compression and then decoded client-side?) if my assumption is right that it just sends raw PCM over your network.

Basic functionality works, but with any combination of settings latency keeps drifting towards 10-15 ms over several minutes and then results in constant cracking. Sometimes it's fixed with restart (for another few minutes), sometimes not. Phone and PC are right next to each other, perfect signal. Server v2.5 on Win 10.

AMAZING! Does exactly what it says! U won't find another app better than this one! I'm truly amazed at how well it performs & easy 2 set up! Don't waste ur time w/other similar apps - they don't do wot this 1 does. If u go outta range when u get in range it auto starts again! U can tweak it alot. Really cool equalizer built in! GREAT DEVELOPER! TY 4 making this!

It Just Works! Protip: When entering in the IP make sure you press the enter key on your keypad in order to connect, I was under the impression to press and hold the big button in the middle to connect, my mistake that's for auto discovery connections when on a local network, and since I was doing this over mobile network it didn't work. To the Dev: Maybe also make a "Connect to IP" button?

Used the free app for a few hours and worked as expected so I bought the app in support of development. It does more than what I expected in that it will send all of the audio from the PC to my phone and not just target a single program. That is a handy feature for things that I have setup audio cues I can roam the house freely.

it works but the latency is bad I tried playing around with the settings, the audio still remained behind video, you can take the buffer size down to 8k but the audio is not that good and it cuts in and out when I'm doing heavy work on my computer or i use any other app on my phone.. the funny thing is that most of the problems are in the Pro version i didn't have this many issues in the free version. thats why i paid for this one.

I am loving the app! I have used the free version a few times but the payed one is a lot better. I found it very worth my money. Great job to the developers! I just place the latency steering amount to very tight, use a "high" audio size buffer (512), then adjust track synchronization one time, and I can enjoy the entire movie with quality sound without a headache.

This is a great app, is really hard for me to buy an app, but! i had to buy it! is very useful, from someone who functions as and audio-visual technician very often. its great for patching audio from one-side to another in a Short notice, is great. 👍 the only thing I would like to see in this app to be added is, a two-way audio streams and to have the ability to send and receive from computer to computer and from phone to phone using the app.

This is definitely working as expected, which does not mean perfectly, because of the lag that probably mostly does not depend on the app itself, but which is too long to be seamless for watching videos. I remove a star because I couldn't find the option to interrupt the audio when the earphones are unplugged, which made my phone produce sound all over the office when I turned my headphone off.

I've been using this app for more than 3 years! It is super flexible and has a very low latency. I started using it when my USB headphones broke and now I feel way more comfortable only using SoundWire. Please get the free version and make it work before buying it, it requires a basic understanding of networking to in case you face any issue.

Can't believe I forgot to rate this! I don't tend to buy apps, so It's one of the few apps I ever bought. I used to use this to make my phone a speaker before I had a headset for my computer. Worked like a charm! (And it still does, of course) If you need a speaker for your PC and all you have is a phone, this is a great option. The free version also works the same, just with a watermark that says "soundwire" every 30 minutes, and maybe some features locked. One of the best purchases I've made!

Fair price for a product that does what it says on the tin. You can get into the nitty gritty if you want to, it's your choice. It's a breeze to set up and install both app and server, all you need to know is the IP's on your local network. Heck, you can even stream over the internet if you open the right port (default is 59010). Nothing to complain about and it was an easy decision to buy less than 10 minutes after trying the free version honestly. EDIT: PS: Works fine in linux as well.

Best money ever spent on the play store. I used this to get low-latency audio with my laptop in which the headphone jack is broken. It works like a charm. All the low reviews of people saying it won't connect are just people who have absolutely no idea how networks work. As for the people saying it's choppy, that's because their modem is too slow to support a fast enough lan connection for the buffer size they chose, or either the server or the client is too slow.

Very nice. I sync all the sound to what's playing in my shop, to another shop where I have another nice audio system, to my truck when I go driving or around the big ole yard through my phone... anywhere I go - what I'm listening to is also there. Perfect app for a fella like me. Thank you very much! Does not have a mixer, not needed since the source can be from a mixer. What it does have is a well thought out equalizer.

Good overall, essentially the free version with more features. There are occasional issues, such as the latency dropping to ~30ms and becoming extremely choppy, despite me having the latency set to 750ms in the options menu. Reconnecting did not fix the issue, it eventually resolved on its own, but still frustrating.

This app can be a great digital radio alternative for your WiFi network. I use it as a digital radio alternative when I cannot broadcast in digital on the FM broadcast band. I features multicasting using the port numbers for each VLC media player program. You can use it to remotely listen to your WiFi internet radio receiver by plugging in the line out or headphone output jack to the line input of your computers sound card. Same goes for connecting your AM-FM tuner or ham or short wave radio receiver to remotely monitor audio within the WiFi network. It's a good program, and I do like the new logo that George came out with.

Amazing app. The only thing missing is being able to transmit audio from the client to the server, but this is fine as it is. I've noticed that some people complain about the latency, but they haven't even tried enabling pro mode. Latency sensitive work should be done only while using pro mode, as it lets you set the buffer in milliseconds. From there, you just have to tweak the other settings like compression and latency steering to get the quality you need.

Probably my most used app in terms of hours left open in the background. When setup using pro mode the latency is low enough that I no longer even bother connecting my headphones to my computer, not even for calls, it's just that reliable (this is with wired headphones). Kudos to the dev for keeping this updated over the years, I can safely say this was money well spent.

I broke my last PC headset recently, and have gone through a few, I didn't want to immediately go out and buy ANOTHER pair. I have a set of great Skullcandy Sesh Evo blueooth ear-buds and being able to route the audio with ease and convenience to another audio source over Wi-Fi, beaming it straight into my spare Android phone I was able to get back to listening to my PC audio. I like the software, it's doing what I wanted, and I want to support the dev so a few bucks later, I'm one happy camper!
