Must-have go-to app for your Spanish language learning needs. It not only includes audio and a sentence analyzer, but it has this convenient "Conjugation" tab that allows you to check out every possible conjugation of a given verb - VERY helpful! This is so much more than most dictionaries, and a lot of work has obviously gone into this app. I use it all the time and have found no other app its equal, to be honest. I love it.

Really easy to use better than Duolingo, Babel, and it is freeeee! I would like a faster way to navigate to the pronunciation short videos. You have to search word, then click examples, then click pronunciation, then click the video. A quick link that takes you straight to the video would be great to add. I love all the conjugation resources and quizzes. 12/10.

I don't like their method of getting money from people. You have to COMMIT to the first 7 days free then ,$59.99 /yr. That's all fine and dandy. But if you don't like/,need/want, it seems you still have to finish the 7 day period. If you uninstall the ap, nothing will happen and you will STILL be charged This is new to me and very irritating. They're SUPPOSED to send a warning 2 days before you're charged, but sometimes I'll miss a email. Oh, and there's a limit of characters here. I'm done

I appreciate this app! It's giving me a taste of Spanish (of which I knew nothing before!) and allows me to learn at my own pace (slow!)... I am mostly interested in speaking Spanish - not in writing it, so while I understand the reasons for emphasizing spelling and correct accent placement, etc., I make so many typos on my phone that it can be frustrating when it won't let me move on until I correct my errors. But I don't let that stop you from downloading it to increase your Spanish abilities

An indispensable resource for Spanish learners, the dictionary is so detailed. Even if you're using something else to learn the language, DOWNLOAD IT and use it as a supplement! If I were a free learner, I would use this instead of Duolingo simply because the ads are so much less intrusive (5 sec, no video). That said, the lesson & (especially) flashcard interface is pretty clunky, text and images can be very small, doesn't force keyboard to Spanish mode. With some polish, it could be amazing.

Edit: Based on the response about history, I've updated the rating. ----- .... In particular, it's no longer possible to see history of the words I've looked up. I used to go back and add those words to flash cards ...This used to be a high quality dictionary for a modest price. With the drastic price increase and recent changes, it seems like they're pushing this into more of a language learning app than a good, solid dictionary. That's disappointing.

This app is my constant companion. No one can learn how to speak a foreign language fluently by simply using an app, at some point you will actually need to talk to people! This app sure does comes close, though, and as a supplement to my ongoing Spanish class, it's amazing. Too many great features to name I'm addicted to the vocab quizzes, and the conjugation drills are where it's at. Customer support has also been above and beyond. Highly recommend if you're serious about gaining fluency.

I've thought more about the 3 stars I gave this app recently, and realize that I was a bit harsh. To me, the ads are a bit overwhelming, especially if I'm using my tablet (hence only 4 stars). However, this app's content is excellent! Vocab includes regional and colloquial usages; verb conjugations highlight irregular forms; and pronunciation is very helpful. Probably the best app of its type! I have yet to make extensive use of the lessons, but what I have tried have been fun and useful.

Last year it was $3 for a year of premium (just removes ads, really). That was fine. Now they want $60 for the exact same thing! I don't know who fell and hit their head at the office, but please take them off the team responsible for pricing and send them to see a neurologist. Reply: I don't want any of those new features, I just don't want ads. So offer two tiers: the $3/yr "no ads" option, and the more expensive one for those who want that. As it is now, you get nothing from me and I just use an ad blocker.

It's a good app, the translations and learning elements are really nice. But the ads are very annoying and overwhelming, I would be willing to pay to remove them & want to support the app, but $60/year for premium to remove ads is way more than I could afford. I wish they had an alternative option where you can just pay like $2.99 or something, a one-time payment to remove ads only. Otherwise I just want to find an alternative ad-blocking method, and the app gets no support at all

Have used it for a while. Like that it has transltion, conjugation, and dictionary combined. Provides examples in dictionary, with good and useful info., and pronunciation info and videos. The topics menu has proved to be really handy for grammar questions and some beginning tests. They have made the app better, and it's been very useful. Sometimes it doesn't have a definition, but often it has the colloquial definition from different Spanish speaking countries. It's one of my go-to resources.

Used this a ton a few years ago and it was great. Now I'm back to brush up and it's got more ad space and honestly runs worse, and the UI leaves a bit to be desired, such as not clearing the search bar without extra clicks. Seems to have more content, yet more ads and pushes the premium a ton. Still one of the best options out there, just sad to see them get greedy as time has gone by without really improving the base product.

I was able to delete 3 other apps because this one has everything you need to learn Spanish including verb conjugation and videos of real people having conversations. Though the premium is a bit steep, it offers enough free stuff to still be a five star app. My only wish is for a built in mic so I don't have to type single finger on my phone. My mic won't work with Spanish. Also, a placement test would be nice just because I'm already in my 2nd year. However, to review is good. Five stars!

I have been using this app and website for several years now. I've recommended it to so many people (and it's English counterpart). Maybe I didn't notice it before, but this app uses so much memory...nearly half a GB! What I can't understand is why it uses nearly 300MB for user data after just downloading the app, before even signing in. That's crazy. By far the app that uses the most memory on my phone. You gotta figure out how to maximize storage. Option to decline offline access??

I love SpanishDict. It's so easy to use and complete. One thing would make it even more convenient is if we could click on a word in a special way, in kindle, or wherever we're reading, and have SpanishDict automatically look up the word for us. Then, there would have to be an easy way (one click) to go back to where we're reading. Also, I have already paid for SpanishDict, which I'm happy to do, since I love it and depend on it. However, I keep getting notices asking me to pay again. Argh.

This app has a lot of great reference material. The dictionary and vocab lists with clips for pronunciation help a lot, and the structure of the lessons are very practical. However, for some reason in the writing exercises, I have to press every key twice. You can disable them, but I don't want to because they're otherwise very useful, so it's a bit of a pain. Also, the ads partially cover the space you write in. I'd pay for the premium features when I'm able to, but for now it's frustrating.

Tried the green bird app. The dealbreaker for that was their 5 hearts system (which regenerated quicker years ago! but takes 30 hours now). So frustrating that I switched. On the other hand, I can use this whenever I like, for however long, and choose which words to study. It even teaches grammar. As somebody who took 2 years of Spanish, this app has been useful so far. I think it caters to my unique needs. The only complaint I have is that it can be slow sometimes.

The best Spanish resource, but the app itself is buggy for me. Often the sentence order exercises where you put the words in the correct order will break and words disappear. Not a big deal because I can just hit guess and it'll mark it wrong but let me continue with the exercise. Today I had to do a fresh reinstall because the app just crashes on start up, and that didn't help. Otherwise I love the app but wish it was working as intended.

As a Spanish beginner this is my go to dictionary. Shows all verb conjugations and word definitions. The search results are great, showing all possible categories such as noun, verb, adjective, with links to each. Has pronunciation for all words and phrases. I love the examples tab which has 100s of sentences using your selected word and the frequency it's used in what sense, so interesting and useful!

You can basically do anything with this app - learn grammatical concepts with explanations (unlike Duolingo), learn phrases, drill verbs, look up words... in my opinion, it is the best resource for learning Spanish out there. A lot of work has been put into this app, and it shows. I used as one of my resources to study for the DELE B2 level and passed!
