Reviews for Stupid Simple Macro Tracker

Terrible! NO FREE TRIAL. Have to pay for everything. You can't search foods. Period. You can't, I wanted to add cheese sticks and it wanted me to enter the cheese amount in cup portions. That's absurd and would be terribly inaccurate as cheese sticks arent just cheese, there's breading and frying too. So I thought about upgrading but it doesn't give you any trial to see if you like it first. I'm not throwing money to the wind with no way if knowing what I'm buying.

winner! because sometimes I need to reset to day 1... The reset option gives me the ability to start again if I totally flop. I don't love counting calories (right?!) but I need to keep track of what I'm eating for more reasons than caloric intake. I train daily at home and use a loose meal plan where I eat what I want, but I need to see what groups I'm weak in (like protein) and which ones I way over do (carbs).

If you are used to other food trackers apps or any apps that track anything whatsoever- do not get this app. You will have to manually add every single solitary food item to ensure accuracy. The favorite item list is ambiguous and therefore useless. It is only user friendly if you A LOT OF TIME on your hands. Find a different app. Don't waste $12.99 like I did- I idiotically upgraded. I might as well have thrown it in the trash. Meh. I wish I had researched before upgrading. Oh well. Live and learn. I really don't like the interface. Additional comment: Being sorry doesn't help when you are stuck using an app because you can't get your money back 😞

Had to update my review to 1 star. I was on a 40 day streak, tracking pretty consistently, and I went to put in the last item of my breakfast today and the app froze. I let it sit for about 5 minutes and it said "syncing" in the top right of the app. It still didn't change or unfreeze so I closed and reopened the app only to see ALL progress I've ever had on the app is wiped. Tried relogging, closing and reopening, restarting my phone, etc. nothing has worked. Very unfortunate.

It really is stupid simple. YOU manually adjust your calorie intake, and your macro ratio. This is a really easy app to understand. I've dabbled in more fancy apps but within a day they lose me and I'm back at Stupid Simple. If you're in a hurry, eating out for the majority of your meals, or just too lazy to look at your food packaging then you will maybe want to look into the upgraded version with the scanner. I just wish their upgraded versions were a one time buy not yearly payments.

It's a good app if you are just starting to track your macros. But it needs to allow you to put in your own units of measurement. The set units are difficult to use as you start to include your own recipes and meals. Not everything is measured as they have them set up. I need to be able to change to cups, tablespoons, teaspoons and pounds on any food I enter.

Performance problems. I've been using this for the past 4 months. I don't use the food items listed in the app because I found those are not quite accurate. I have my regular foods I eat worked out in a spreadsheet based on nutrition information labels on the product. My experience was good up until about a month ago. There must have been an automatic update that introduced performance issues. What once took me 30 seconds to add macros into the app, now takes minutes.

Love this app. Extremely easy to use. Barcode function works like a charm. The option to set and easily change your calories and macros is very helpful. I like that it doesn't have fitness and sleep tracking because I had all that on another app and it was too much. My only complaint is that there is no option to track total carbs (only carbs net of fiber) .

Update to my previous review. I still think it's good, but it is buggy... So just expect some frustration. I also spent the extra money to upgrade to have the fasting app built in, and that's when the problems started. Still, totally worth the money and generally I'm happy with it. Original review: I just started using this app. It's great! I like how you don't have to pay for a subscription to use all the features of the app, just a one-time fee. It does exactly what I was hoping for and, it gives you a nice visualization of how many calories and macros you have left to eat in the day. One thing I was hoping to see would be a visualization of macros by meal as well, so you can see if you're sticking to your macro percentages throughout the day, and not just for the whole day. Probably overkill, since I just started this whole macro-counting thing. Anyways, great, fun app!

I have to say that the free version of the app is pretty good. But what would be great is if I could adjust the calories on food if say it doesnt match the calories that the app has by default. Also the auto return to the home page of the food grid is not that helpful and it makes it a little laggy, that cpuld be my phone though running it on a Samsung J7.

This app lives up to it's name. The free version allows you to adjust macros, unlike every other app I've downloaded. When you upgrade for a SMALL ONE TIME FEE, you can scan unlimited foods, save meals, and integrate the fasting app, which will remind you you're still fasting if you try to eat. Create before and after pictures, log daily photos, and add notes to your day. The format could not be easier. Highly recommended to all!

Reinstalled this recently. It's been updated since using it in late 2017 and has a nicer looking interface, but that 'upgrade' in GUI slows down the app. One thing I wish I could do is change the calorie counting portion so that it showed how many calories have been eaten instead of only showing how many are left. Also, it'd be nice to disable the 'calorie bank' so that I can track what I'm eating without that extraneous data.

App doesnt disclose you must purchase it to pretty much use all its features. I used the app for a full 5 days with no problem. Suddenly it prompted me to purchase it. It was never disclosed that I was using a "free version" or would need an "upgrade" I wouldnt have wanted my time had that been the case as their are plenty of less expensive and free apps on the market. After posting a negative review about this shady practice i was directed to email someone for help. Their solution was to purchase the app... #ShadyAF #Uninstall

I can't explain the misfortune it is that the developers wont even give you a ONE DAY free trial. I was prepared to purchase the app, but we can't even test out the full version for a few moments before buying. With the bare basics of these apps only being available in Pro...like scanning food not listed, you can't use the app; under 150 things are listed, probably half are veggies. That's beyond limited. Who wants to pay $12-$20 & have no clue if it's usable? I can't believe 100K users did that

Wish list for developers to sync with other platforms like Google Fit, Huawei Health, and Samsung Health for weight status, so I don't have to duplicate my data entries. Update March 7, 2023: It seems there are vast amounts of food nutrition facts labels I must manually enter that are everyday items. I need more options to make this app easier, not spend 5 min. searching saved food items for programming meals and tags, a curser that defaults to the end of a word for edits, not the front end.

When I create a workout routine, it has me choose an exercise. However, when I click "Add Selected", the next screen doesn't show it as being added. It just creates a blank routine with an empty box where the exercise is supposed to show. If I then click "Save Changes", a box pops up telling me I need to add at least one exercise before saving my workout. Edit - clearing app data and setting up app again fixed the issue.

This app so far is super easy and convenient. With the subscription, you can just scan stuff to add it and it tracks it. The search is pretty accurate too. If they added a water goal that would he really convenient. They have a tracker, but letting you set it as a goal like the carbs, protein, and fat would be really cool. Still great though

Exactly What I Needed! After my first week on a Carnivore diet, I realized that my fat to protien ratio was way too low, and I was probably eating too much protein, regardless. This app QUICKLY and EASILY shows and logs your macros for every food so that you can adjust accordingly. If there are foods you eat that aren't already in the apps database, you can easily add them after looking them up online. Well done, great app!

The best macro tracker I've found. Great user interface. The only criticism is if you search for a did that's not in the database, the suggestions are all portioned by volume not weight. If you want to add a new food using weight for a portion you have to enter it in manually. But that's a small criticism. I really like this app and use it every day. Sometimes you have to quit it to get it to refresh.

I tried out SSM because of overpricing at the "other" product. I find it easier to customize to my particular goals. It can be a little fumbly, but the creator does a great job replying to emails and consider the customer base. The fasting module in the upgraded version is fantastic! I just wish there was a web portal and the fasting module could post-set the fasting time and adjust the countdown timer. Maybe in a future update...
