Fantastic app to use with subsonic. I use it with Navidrome. so many great options and features, and now I can have it on my TV OS too, which is a welcome update. unfortunately it needs full configuration from scratch (restored mobile backups break it into portrait mode) so hopefully in the future there will be some basic sync to get your sources moved over without having to type URLs and credentials. but that's a minor thing
Reviews for Symfonium: Music player & cast
← Back to Symfonium: Music player & castAmazing app. My current setup is to just rip CDs to flac and auto sync to my phone with syncthing. This plays the local files fine. You can also setup a server and add to the app to stream. Recently learned about AutoEQ and it really boosted the sound quality of my headphones on my Linux system. So I was delighted to see AutoEQ built into this player. Really cool. Solid experience and worth paying for. Crazy the price was so low considering all of the features included.
Hands down, the best audio player on Android. Symfonium is incredibly versatile while remaining easy to use. The amount of options available can be overwhelming at first glance, but it truly allows you to have a music player that does exactly what you want it to. The EQ is amazing and has configurations for every major speaker/headphone.
THE music app for audio power users. Offers an incredible array of EQ options - more than I've ever seen for an Android music app. Other important (to me) features include a full set of casting options, cloud storage integration with Google Drive and One Drive, and a ridiculously customizable interface. There are also some cool auto-mix functions that work pretty well. In particular, the "decade" mix is great for someone who has a library of music spanning the 1920s to the 2020s.
I put this app aside while trying others for my Subsonic server because I was trying to prefer open source, but there's no contest, this is the definitive app for your music server. I bought it before even finishing the trial! Suports casting, WearOS, Android Auto, offline download... I could go on. The others don't hold a candle. WORTH EVERY PENNY!
This is the greatest app ever made. It's extremely user-centric, the app is minimally-opinionated and the user has the option to change almost anything that they want to fine-tune it to the experience that they want. I use it with a navidrome server, and it supports at least most of the server features, and literally all of the features I want. It works great with android auto. It takes a little configuring to get it just right, but that's a huge pro and not a con to me. 11/10
this is by far the best music player app that I have used! it's a one time charge I will say that to keep using it but it's worth it! especially for those that have downloaded music on their devices for offline play. we can't always be tethered to the Internet especially when traveling, so that makes streaming services unavailable. this is the answer to those woes. great if you have a large collection of music.
I've been using the trial for nearly a week and I gotta say that this is hands down the best music application for your own personal music you have on your computer, phone, or server. i believe a full license (forever I think too) cost somewhere in the realm of 5 dollars and once the trial is done, I'm going to absolutely buy it and recommend my friends to get it too, which is weird because I'm going to IRL tell them about it and show them. There are so many neat, nifty, and helpful features.
Hands down: The BEST Music player on android OMG. I tried so many apps. I can find enough reasons to dislike almost every other music app on here, I have tried so many. Symfonium is clean, lots of features, easy to navigate, plus extra stuff like changing speed and tone on the fly. It's also not full of ads. Best music player I could find across 10+ years.
Best audio player I've ever used. Offline caching is no joke. Can import your existing SMB shared playlists onto your phone, cache the playlist, AUTOMATICALLY KEEP IT SYNCED, and take it into the car with you. Also now works on Sonos speakers, including grouped sets. Invaluable to anyone who manages their own music collection. Haven't found any other Android audio player that even comes close.
This is the perfect solution for your Jellyfin Personal Libraries!! It's amazing how many options this app has. The trial period was unexpectedly longer than it probably should've been, but much appreciated! I was convinced to pay the one-time fee and purchase this app almost immediately! A must have for anybody that has a personal audio collection. Cheers to the Devs of this well put together app! Please keep up the excellent work!!
Fantastic subsonic client with offline caching. Latest versions offer a ton of UI customization as well. Would recommend to anyone willing to take the time to set up a music server, but also works as a stand-alone offline player, if you don't want to take full advantage. UPDATE: still the best music app, I don't understand all the weirdos giving 1 star ratings because they're salty that it costs money. I choose to pay an extra donation monthly to support the dev. it's that good.
Took some time to learn how to get this up and running, but after a day of messing with it I can safely say Symfonium is the best of its kind. The extensive customization options, the alternate server connections, and the cheap one-time fee are what I love most here. If I could add one thing, it would be a searchbar for the settings. Other than that, this is a perfect app.
I've spent years looking for everything this app has all in one place. It's almost too customizable but there's a friendly Preview screen on most dialogs. No more backing out 4 menus to see what you've changed. There's a robust yet easy to use smart playlist maker. The app will keep track of multiple queues; you can pick up where you left off on ANY playlist. If the dev ever added the ability to edit tags and artwork, we'd have to figure out a way to give 6 stars. Worth the $!
Coming from Blackplayer EX (which is unfortunately a bit long in the tooth by now), I think this will be my new daily music app for the foreseeable future. Highly customizable, performs well and is updated regularly, it's everything I need. Though the price may put you off, I didn't mind paying as I know I'll be using this for years to come, and realistically I think the types of the people looking for a dedicated music app for local files is probably fine with that too.
I've tried pretty much every Android music player available and Symfonium is the best by far. The developer puts a lot of effort into making sure it's easy to use, but also has enough customization to satisfy the pickier types (me). My only real complaint is that I can't search through the settings, which makes jumping between menus for more esoteric options a hassle sometimes.
Genuinely the best music player app available on any platform I've ever used. My only three complaints are: 1) I wish there were a search bar for settings. 2) I wish I could use this on older versions of Android. Though I understand the limitations of working with older Android OS dev tools. 3) I wish it were available on more platforms! Again though, porting an app like this is difficult and tedious, so I understand.
By far the most feature-complete, customizable, and overall best music player for Android that I've found. I particularly like that it supports both local (on-device) and remote media collections, and that it has a mini waveform view of the currently-playing track. I get the impression that this software is a labor of love, and thus I was happy to support its developer with a purchase. Recommended!
A little bit of a learning curve, but that's only because there's an incredible amount of customization. synced to my Navidrome server in a snap and all the logins and stats are tracked and songs updated easily. The developer is communicative and the documentation is unmatched. The cost is a no-brainer compared to being chained to subscription services when you can own your own music and control the experience more than them. Thanks so much for your hard work on this!!! I even donated on top!
Best Music App On ANY Platform! Does more than ANY other music app where you are in control of your music. Flawless sync with the cloud. Incredibly customizable. It does PLAYCOUNTS! No other app that I have seen does this! Playlists. Smart Playlists. Ratings. I have over 80,000 songs so I am a huge music buff and THIS is hands down the best app for handling YOUR music. Small wish...let me edit Metadata to clean up some stuff but overall you won't find better.
