Not Happy. I should be able to order everything that's available in store on the app. The 2 for deals are not on the on the app. Plus how does mobile ordering save me time if I have to wait in a long line of traffic in the drive thru or a long line in the store to pick up my order that's paid for and should be ready when I walk in the door? I go to one around the corner from my job between 730 and 8AM. I know it's peek time but they need a separate area for pick up orders.
Reviews for Tim Hortons
← Back to Tim HortonsTerrible app. First they make you load your account with money before you can place your order. It only offered $10 increments so I put $10 on my profile. I entered my order then went to the restaurant 15 minutes later to pick it up. They didn't have any orders and said the app usually doesn't work. The manager verified I had the correct store location and I did pay so they filled my order. My order didn't take the whole $10 so now I have money hanging somewhere in cyberspace for an app that doesn't work. I should have read the other reviews before I tried the Tim Horton's app. Not only does the app not work, its poor design and requirement to load money to place and order has now actually cost me money. It's only two dollars and some change but it's my two dollars and change.
As many other users have pointed out, the app is so slow and lagging that it is unusable. I thought it was my phone at first but all of my other apps were loading fine. I was never able to order using the app as it would take 10+ min just to load the menu, then it wouldn't even let me select an item. I'm usually able to load the QR code to get rewards at checkout (need to load it at least 5 min prior) but on my last order I was not even able to load it. Will use the physical card from now on.
Three times in about three years that the app no longer recognised me, so that points and cash were lost in one of those times, and the other two times I was able to recover, albeit with difficulty. There is no mechanism for a change of email address, so if you innocently attempt to re-enter with a different email, you are lost. Do I still go to Tim's, yes, but not to put cash in the app. I pay each time with credit card. The app is inflexible, needs work.
While the app is definitely worth it if you buy Tim's regularly, they recently revamped the system to make the cost of free items much higher. It used to be you could go a couple times and only spend a dollar or so on each order to get free items. Now, you have to spend 145 dollars at Tim's to get a free slice of avacado toast. They say the offers are "inspired by your recent orders," but I have now gotten the same 4 offers several weeks in a row. I have never used any of those offers.
This app is really sad. It's terrible, never works right, and just navigating the app is impossible. I might also add that if you receive a Tim Hortons gift card, you can't add it in any way to use in a mobile order. All they want you to do is to use a reloadable gift card within the app to pay for your order. Not sure what the point of that is, since I just pay with my credit card. Fix the app and I'll raise my raiting. /:
Love the food, but the app doesn't tell you that they stop making anything other than drinks after a certain point. I ordered on the app 40 minutes before they closed and arrived 20 minutes before they closed, only to be told I couldn't get my food but they would issue a refund. Not great business practices, but the only place I can get my doghnut holes. I hope things are changed in the future, via the app or the resteraunt, to prevent this from happening again.
In the last week the app has stopped processing orders. Everytime I try to use the app I get an error message stating that they are aware of the problem and working to fix it. It has been a week and it has not been fixed. What is the point of encouraging people to use an app to order if that functionality does not work? Furthermore every order has been charged to my card though no receipt received. Every time I tried to order, the app charged my card and now I'm waiting on refunds. Do better.
Pop-up ads, broken ordering. Ads kept popping up when screens transitioned for other items on their menu. I'm already trying to buy your product, stop annoying be with ads. On top of that, I tried to select special offer items, but couldn't add to my cart without selecting options that were not in the offer to select. When I finally placed an order, I went through the purchase, had my payment charged, but order was not completed and not available sat the store.
I find I need to open the app at home, then drive to the restaurant and even that's not enough time for the app to load. It's great once it's opened and working, it seems as though with the last few updates it's just slow. I've missed out twice in one week on points because of this and here's a fun fact, once you pay you can not use your paper receipt to add your purchase to get reward points. I was really bummed out, in this economy I'm trying to save anywhere and anyway I can. Please fix this!
The app is easy and convenient. However the stores seem to not care about app orders. When an item is purchased it's done wrong most of the time and the store claims they cannot do anything to correct the problem because it's an app order. When customer service is called to correct the order, it's always sent to someone else. This seems to be mainly in the downtown Buffalo area. Not sure about Tim Hortons in other areas. I for one will no longer be using the app for quick orders.
This app, as well as your website, is only minimally useful, and only when the local store is OPEN! What is the deal with not being able to see a menu of offerings, unless the freaking store is OPEN. I don't know if I want to think about visiting, when I can't determine what you have to offer. Worthless for planning any future visit. I installed, to see if it was better than your website. It's not, so uninstalled. Keep your secret menu.
I downloaded the app in hopes to look at the menu, because you can't look at the menu online if the store closest to you is closed. Nope! Same problem with the app. You need to chose the store closest to you, WHILE IT IS OPEN, then start an order to see the menu. It gives you a hard stop saying the store you selected is closed. You should be able to look at the menu without the store being open and starting an order. Poor design.
NEWUPDATE! has made this more responsive. Still PIA If I could give it 0 stars I would...Tried ordering two coffees today took 9 minutes. No more Tims for me... Well the new app sucks! Way too busy now. Clunky slow, Also changed the store locator. Map feature menu has changed from words to a small icon and when selected it searches too broad an area. It should be simple. And now it's not. Who ever released this should be fired. Take a page out of your competition and look at Starbucks app.
Pros: Visually appealing, lots of drink options, rewards (every seven orders, you get a free coffee and donut), ease of picking up and skipping the line. Cons: Doesnt have option to buy breakfast sandwiches (not all items are on the online menu), the add-ons lists could be better laid out.
The most recent update is a complete dud... I have never seen an app take a larger step backwards. If I click offers it the app fails every time, I cannot access them... It is slow, forgets my store, and sometimes logs me out for no reason. It is just terrible compared to what it was which was a pretty intuitive app except some small nit picks.
I've never had so much trouble in an app as I have this one. My most recent issue is trying to request access to my account to change my email. I have to go through a strange form, which later does not offer what I'm requesting. My request is still unresolved (though the form said it is), as I couldn't even get to the change request.
The app doesn't always work, but I don't really care. The offers are amazing, every week you get new ones and they always save at least 20%. It's very surprising. Sadly the deals are tucked away and hard to find, I didn't realize they existed for the first few months I had the app. Still, very worth having if you go to Tim's!
I've paid for two Ice Capps on three separate occasions, only to be told at pickup that the machine isn’t working. There's no option to cancel in the app, and I have to email support each time—only to get a few points, not a refund. It’s unacceptable that in 2025 the app still can’t mark items as unavailable. This feels like a broken system that borders on theft.
Sometimes, it has okay deals. Apparently, your card just may not work with the app for some reason. Mine expired, and my new one wouldn't work with it (support wasn't helpful). Edit: They referred me to the same support that wasn't helping me earlier and just having me do the same thing over and over without realization the problem is on their systems.
