Reviews for Tools & Amazfit

← Back to Tools & Amazfit

(I AM using the latest version of the app) Even with the newest update, it looks like when the watch manages to connect to this app it disconnects from zepp and there's no way to get it back synced unless force stopping tools & amazfit. At certain points it can be disconnected from both and it's always hard to make it sync back. This doesn't just make this app useless, but also undermines the behavior of the original app. Tried on 2 different phones but same results...

The app itself seems maybe OK, but the customer service is the worst I have ever encountered with a paid app. What happened: I have been unable to find any way to quit the app and its background daemon without completely uninstalling the app. I checked their online support wiki with no joy. So, I sent an email to their support email address describing the problem. What I got back was an automated response telling me to go see the wiki (which I had alreqady done), and if that didn't help send another email. They then state that another email would NEVER be seen by anyone in their development community who actually knows anything. To heck with them. I don't mind paying for apps. I figure that's what keeps the developers in business and provides me with a modicum of support. In this case, no support. I'm outta here. Adios.

Doesn't work, at least with my Amazfit Bip. Turning off notifications in the Amazfit app and adding app notifications in this app, none come through to the watch. The notification shade setting in this app is set to always on, high priority. Maybe I have something wrong still but this matches the help docs. Not only that, but the FAQs falsely advertise that Chinese versions of 'watches' language "Can be changed [no matter what]". This is very misleading; it doesn't work with Amazfit GTS CH ver.

Orginally rated 2 stars, now it's 1, would be zero if I could. Emailed suport on 07/30 because of constant disconnects, followed the troubleshooting guide, got an automated msg back and told to follow the TS guide and send config , which I did. Never heard back, replied back again on 08/15 to check and that was ignored as well. Now 08/31 and still nothing. Reading around, seems this is typical. If it works for you great, if not, don't expect help from the dev, they already have your money!

Loved mitools hoped this would be just as good, unfortunately I cannot run it congruently with the zepp app, it's one or the other. No watch faces very hit or miss if it notifies me of sms or calls, and blocks workouts / heart rate / steps from syncing with apps. Tools turns itself on at whim causing multiple issues. I set this up exactly how I had mitools set up because I wanted only to give my sleep data to sleep as Droid app, As I had with my previous band. Extremely disappointed.

Posted in April. Now 22-May. Still no fix. Purchased the license. When linking to my GTR3 Pro it's fails due to 'unstable Bluetooth connection'. So renders the app completely unusable. Worked fine on my previous GTR3, just not latest the GTR3 Pro. Now I can't use SleepForAndoid for which I also purchased a seperate license. Official website says it works with Gtr3 Pro. Hope a fix is coming down the pipe shortly.

Can't not get the app to link w/GTS3. Even bought the license thinking perhaps that might help, nope. The description of the app clearly states it's fully compatible with the GTS3 , but I have no idea how. Every time I wait for the app to connect it looks like it's going to and then says unstable connection. No issue connecting any other devices or apps to Bluetooth devices so it's not the connection as much as the coding.

Works for sleep as android integration and alarms with Amazfit band 5, but it can't take heart rate measurements reliably at scheduled times, especially overnight. It starts off well, then at some point stops measuring completely, or moves to 1 hour intervals etc. Surprising as the mi band version worked great, so I'm suapecting Zepp is interfering.

Improves and makes the use of the Amazfit watch easier. That being said, the developer is not responsive and when he does email you back he expects verification of purchase, etc. When you go through the hoops to do it you don't get an answer after that, apparently because they are flooded with questions. So, is it good? I'd say it's ok, but not worth the money unless your questions are in the FAQ section. Update: Email sent the day after the purchase.Devs passive aggressive response unwarranted

okay, have been using this Tools & Amazfit app which can customize notifications to include apps names. but this app requires you to install the awful Mi Fit app. but the MiFit app is horrible and never stays activated to connect watch & phone. my solution is to, yes, install the MiFit app but not actually use MiFit, and instead install the Notify & Fitness app for health functions & to maintain connection between watch & phone, and use this Tools & Amazfit app for only notifications.

Was using the Mi Band version til I got an Amazfit Band 5 and this is identical. Other than the essential Sleep as Android integration, it is also quite useful for watch faces, of which there is no shortage. If you like to tinker with notifications that is there too. The heart rate graphs are not as useful than the proprietary app or Sleep. I do wish they could somehow integrate the SpO2 sensor on the Amazfit Band 5 to work with Sleep as Android.

Used to be perfect for my use case but not anymore, Google Fit connection isn't working anymore (was using it for heart rate sync since I can't rely on Zepp/Mi Fit for that sole task), as per usual I tried to contact them by email for support before complaining here, but after an automated email that asked me for proof of purchase + additional details that I answered on almost a week ago I didn't receive any response anymore. Not even an acknowledgement of my mail, nothing. I will update this review if I finally get some answer (and some fix).

Every time I open the app, it asks for notification permissions, which have already been granted. I can't do anything in the app, because it doesn't seem to register that it already has notification permissions.

After an update the app stopped working, and so did the connection to the account in order to get the pairing key. Their solution for the problem is to download a custom version of Zepp from a forum. What? No f-ing way, that's a security risk. And before they come and say that I'm not running the uodated version: yes I am.

I cannot use it at the same time as the zepp app (when tools connects to my watch, zepp cannot connect), can't upload any watch faces (it shows progress bar but when finished nothing happens). Also, when trying to get Amazfit security token I couldn't use Google account cause it said it was unsafe. I've used this since my Amazfit BIP from 2019, last year I used it with a GTR 2e and they both worked perfectly for me, it saddens me that with GTR4 I can't use this amazing app 😭😭😭

I've read the reviews before purchasing this app and though other reviewers might not be as tech-savyy, but I was wrong. The app does NOT work with Amazfit GTR3 - the watch will not connect to phone/app. Their support is non-existent (I've been waiting for 10 days without a reply). Google says they won't refund the purchase, because "it doesn't meet their policy". I'm not sure how this is even possible - the app description is clearly wrong/deceiving as also mentioned in other reviews (the app doesn't work as advertised), yet you can't request a refund. If you're Amazfit GTR3 user, save your money.

Edit: No support. That what is written under the FAQ (It's a quote): Amazfit Automatic Language (even if you are using Chinese version of the bracelet, Amazfit Tools will take care of everything to provide you watch interface in English language). Well, it won't. No matter what I tried (asked for support as well with no reply), it simply won't switch from Chinese to English. Very disappointed. All the rest are useless without that. I would have rated it 5 stars if it does what it should be.

The font size is so small on this, I resisted exploring much of what this app had to offer. I did check if I could customize vibration patterns of more notifications than possible on the fitness band itself, but nope. It sat on my phone, unused, until I started having major connection issues between phone and band. Removed this app, and connection issues went away. I'm mad about wasted money, but glad I didn't go to all the effort of setting up Sleep as Android yet, so I won't miss it.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy s23 ultra. The app works well for me. I use it mainly to sync it with the sleep as Android App and to get my heartbeat data every few seconds. The watch can only send the data to either the Zepp app or the Amazfit app so you got to balance the pros and cons between the two. Zepp will let you store steps and exercise routines which you can't do with this app but can't sync with sleep tracking apps and can only track every 5 minutes instead of every few seconds.

I haven't been able to get this app to work, and the publisher's highly aggressive automated filter prevents me from contacting their Support team. I went through all the troubleshooting steps on their Help page, contacted the dev when they didn't work, and received an automated reply telling me to provide some information. I provided that info in a response, and two weeks later have yet to hear anything. I don't like to leave a review without going to Support, but I had no choice this time.
