After using this app for 3 years, I have found it to work great most of the time, whenever I get new strings for my bass though, it the app acts like it's never heard sound before and cannot figure out what tuning is, saying the same played note is 5 different ones
Reviews for Tuner & Metronome
← Back to Tuner & MetronomeTerrible tuner function. doesn't seem to tune in real time, the needle just freezes once it hears a sound and doesn't track any adjustments. can't tune a ukeleli with it either. Uninstalled.
This app does a nice job of recording practice sessions and tracking my progress, but the recorder is trash and the metronome is confusing. I mainly use it as a tuner, although it can sometimes help me brush my teeth.
Trying to tune guitars with this app has always been a terrible experience. I don't understand how it can be so bad at picking up clearly audible tones even with no background noise. 0/5 stars for the tuner, 6/5 stars for the metronome.
I mainly use this app to track my practice time, and it's perfect for it. You can look back, how many times, how many hours did you practice in a week or month. Of course the tuner is also really good, because it detects the note, so you can tune in whatever note you want. I personally don't use the metronome, but I know that you can set the speed of it. One more thing that it has sheet music on it, which I also don't use, but not because it's bad. (Lastly, sorry for my english)
This was HANDS DOWN, the best Tuner out there. There was no equal to it. Unfortunately it stopped working and only displays "Listening". Doesn't hear any sound nor does it tune any instruments anymore, no matter what I do, permission are all granted even the useless ones and the app is undated. Very disappointed because this was thee best tuning app out there and has helped me a lot. If this app works for You, you won't need anything else in life.
This is an extremely versatile app, and one that I would recommend for any mid level musician. you can't go wrong with metronome and tuner in one, and with a slew of options at your fingertips (scaling tempi, adjustable A4 to 415 and beyond, odd time signature beat options to name a few), this app is by far one of the most versatile apps out there. For professional musicians, Tonal Energy cannot be beaten, but this is one of the best free metronome/tuners on the app store.
I have had this app for several months, or maybe even a whole year by now, and I have had an extremely positive experience with it. The tuner is very precise for a phone tuner, and beats a lot of other apps in precision. The metronome is likely my favorite part. The metronome is extremely customizable with many different rhythms, beats, and features to play with. It also includes a in-app recorder for recording your practice and analyzing it. Overall, it's a great app and I highly recommend it.
This app is the perfect tool for musicians! It is very easy to use, and has a large pause button for the metronome. You can create your own tempos, using different materials and placing them in certain patterns. There is a tuner included, and a "tuning fork" option. Be warned, it is loud. Overall, this is the definitely best metronome app I have ever used. It has helped me a lot with mastering tougher melodies, and timing things right. This app is the one for me!
Great app. Perfect for practice or recording while home. The ads aren't intrusive I ran the metronome for 5 minutes straight and didn't have an ad pop up. 4 stars because to remove ads requires a subscription and that's silly. You can buy a cheap metronome and use it forever for less than 1 year of the basic ad removing subscription. uh charge me 2 or 3 dollars and be done with it. I use a tuner pedal so I did not really test this function beyond being curious. I 100% recommend this metronome.
It does the job. There are no ads, thankfully. Also, I love that they include both of this in one app because I use them so much. The metronome includes the names of the tempo ranges, it also lets you choose the way it divides the beats and what time signature it is. The tuner is great. The app also has a place where you can record yourself playing and Keep it.
Best all in one. I've used this app for many years mainly to tune my harps but all of the other features are great and will come in handy for any musician. Especially the metronome, practice log and recording function. You can also access sheet music to popular composers, Debussy, Vivaldi ect, and it already has the ideal beat attached to the music. I've rarely experienced glitches and when I do it's quickly resolved. 10/10 would recommend!
I have been using this for my practice routines for over 7 years, both for guitar and piano. One standout feature is that it keeps track of the amount of time that I have played, which makes it easier to keep a standard regiment for my routine. I have not found any other apps that do this so well. l also like that it can be setup with different sounds. l do wish this was available on windows, but I have found ways to run it by using bluestacks and the soon to be unsupported android for windows.
This is by far the best app to accompany your musical practice. I tried some of the more popular tuners, and they all have features like chromatic tuning or non-standard tuning behind a paywall. This not only includes chromatic tuning, but also brings a boatload of other options that I never knew I needed. The metronome is fantastic. You can tap out a beat, have it slowly increase over time, custom beat patterns, etc. You can also do recordings, track your practice time, there's a ton here.
This is a great free app, I don't see anyone else mentioning it, but the option to have the metronome flash the light instead of clicking aloud is great, especially when using the record function. I take off a star for something about the recording ability. Normally I might complain about the m4a file type, but my DAW supports that now....but having to reset my phone every time I want to access the recordings through the file browser is a little annoying. Still, a great free app.
This app is awesome when it comes to band. I'm able to tune myself and help my friends tune, keep tempo, look at sheet music, record so that I can judge myself afterwards and I do it all in this one app.It also includes different composers music to play from. There's different styles to choose from to keep tempo. It also include a battery saving mode. It works so well for Androids. You get 4 apps in one for FREE! Plus no adds! it's the best of both worlds. Definitely the best app for young band students or anyone who plays a instrument.
This is possibly the best free app I've ever used. It has everything a musician might need to establish a thorough practice regimen, from scheduling, programmable click, sheet music, recorder, and the tuner isn't too bad considering it uses the onboard mic. It has Ads, but they have never disrupted the UI and the app itself has never frozen or crashed. It uses it's fair share of battery, but that's what one should expect from an app with so much functionality. Keep it up, SoundCorset!
This is amazing! The tuner is perfect, and I like the tuning fork feature! I love the option to tap to get a certain tempo. And the metronome has a feature to get gradually faster and it's a great exercise for practice! I also like that you can change the different sounds and also listen to different rhythms on the metronome. You can also record yourself playing and it's just amazing!!!!
I've used the app for years, and they've just decreased the number of voices available to four, for the free app. Almost $6 per month to get the two voices back on my rhythm settings is absurd. I used to love this app, but I'm looking for something else. I know many pay once software programs will allow me to make loops for rhythmic practice. A huge monthly fee! yuck.
Overall a useful app, but it would be nice if there was a way to set the tuner to confine itself to a certain frequency range. It has a bad habit of picking up harmonics and tuning off of those instead of the note you're actually playing. Also, call me old fashioned, but I like to buy things that are useful to me instead of renting them and paying a perpetual monthly fee. I'd happily pay a few dollars for an ad-free version, but I'm not going to pay $1/month in perpetuity just for a tuner.
