Following the latest updates, it has become more difficult and less intuitive to order an Uber outside of the US. Also, many times, the fee displayed originally does not correspond with the fee charged after the trip is completed, which is obviously larger. Another issue is when finding a driver. At times it tells you it has found a driver, and while that driver is on his/her way, all of a sudden he/she dropps the job.
Reviews for Uber - Request a ride
← Back to Uber - Request a rideThere's always a problem when trying to request a ride with this app. Either the quotes don't load fast enough or when it do load and you request a ride, the price point is NOT the same as the price quoted but much higher. And to add insult to injury, the texting to customer service is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! Bring back the days of speaking with a person that can actually respond rather than an general automated reply.
the recent update actually made this app even worse, which I didn't think was possible. I can't even change my device location which keeps saying Massachusetts. I've been at my current address, Connecticut, for 18 years. I am not hacked. Fix it or I will start using Lyft. I have to do a lot of hoop jumping just to leave a tip. that prompt doesn't even come up automatically at the end like it used to. HORRENDOUS!
The map is kind of messed up. When I reserve a ride back home, it's been showing my pickup as in the back of the building. I ended up missing a ride the other day because of it and was charged and when I went to look for customer support, I accidentally pressed a tip for a ride I didn't get. I will give more stars when this gets fixed. When I've been picked up, the drivers have been great.
Whenever you use a discount, and then you tip the driver, your discounted price is replaced by the full price plus the tip. Even though I used a discount, I still had to pay full price. Oh well, at least I could complain, oh wait. There's no service for that. I would say 0/5 stars for a ripoff company, but you have to do at least 1 star to be able to post.
I really don't appreciate the apps inaccurate time frame. Example, rides are ALLEDGEDLY 3 minutes away. Confirm the ride. Wait time is 15 minutes. This happens pretty normal when it shouldn't. As well as the maps for the driver is s*(t. Not the drivers at all. The Navigation map they use is a HUGE ISSUE. I've attempted to file a complaint but I guess technology doesn't want me to stand up for things not working properly.
I reserved a ride and received confirmation through my email. when I arrived at the pickup spot, the driver and I were communicating and there was no option to "pick up now". He spent 15 minutes trying to fix the issue in the app (my reservation never showed up). there was no way to contact customer service by phone call so I messaged on social media and literally just was told "sorry our app didn't work". not sure how this app went downhill in a year.
Their service for food delivery is terrible; it's never on time, even if you schedule it in advance. Don't pay for Uber One expecting better deals. They still tried charging me $11.99 in delivery fees plus additional "service" fees. Never mind the fact that they constantly send you emails with coupons for $25 off, yet you aren't elegible unless its your first purchase ever. It's a waste of time and money.
while I use them often because I don't have a choice. they aren't the most reliable. often times stuck waiting for extended periods of time because drivers don't want to take the short ride but also don't want to cancel. knowing the drivers only get a small amount of what you charge and then expect us to tip on top of that is ridiculous. the routes are often awful and half the drivers break the law to get you where your going.
One would think a company the size of UBER would find and use top shelf programmers for something as important as their mobile app. Or at least do extensive testing on it before releasing it to the public. The program is an example of something one would expect from novice programmers. Just trying to set pickup and destination points then confirm with a payment takes many, many tries. It's a time wasting embarrassment, leaving you wondering how could they be so STUPID.
Anyone who has a 3 star or above does not regularly use Uber. They intentionally increase prices for individual customers if they think you will keep going to the same location. Their fees are ridiculous and only seem reasonable if you use them to get to very different locations and use the app very rarely. 0 stars Edit: They added a condition where the driver leaves in 2 minutes. I had a driver go to the wrong spot and then take off after the 2 minutes, then the app charged me for it.
its kinda convenient. but the worst part of the whole this isn't the drives, its the company! they dont want to deal with you so all their customer service options are AI generated. Just today my doctor told me to go to an urgent care. she named a few and I found the one that was closest to me on the Uber app. so I get a ride there and it turns out that its permanently closed! goggle maps new it was permanently closed. but the Uber app didn't. $18.58 plus $4 tip for nothing!
Why the hell is app placing orders at restaurants way across town when theres one right around the corner? Takes longer than it should for consumers and has drivers going extra distance for nothing. At a minimum, the app should specify which location the order is being placed. Furthermore, false advertising for pick up times when shopping for a ride. App says pick up in 5-7 minutes often only to order and wait 15. Then cancelation fee. Bait and switch! Somebody should sue. Freakin ridiculous!
Prices were extremely high and kept increasing after my rides kept getting canceled left and right. I'm Never using this app again. I understand when I wanted a ride it was busy, but on the flip side, the price shouldn't double after I've already made a reservation more than once and then said reservation gets canceled without rhyme or reason. Also, I don't like how you have to verify your identity for no reason. this app is a security risk, and unreliable.
I had good experiences with this app until recently. The drive share feature allows you to save a few bucks, which I thought was nice. However, the ETA for the driver is way off. I had requested one, ant the ride showed up roughly 10 minutes earlier than I anticipated. I was still getting ready , when it said my ride had been canceled. I got chared and had to request another ride, so it defeated me saving the money.
Worst customer service ever. I was only checking prices to see what it would cost on my PC, and I all of a sudden had an account which I instantly got locked out of. Trying to restore the account I clicked on the link shown on the website and got 404 not found. I tried downloading the app and got the same thing. No way I can find to communicate with them.
Uber has gotten so much worse than they used to be. No matter what tier you select (unless you want to shell out $100+ for Uber black) the quoted time to get to your location will end up being twice as long & of course the price to get there doesn't get lowered to reflect that. Drivers will show as 4 minutes away, but then each driver you're connected to will be 15+. Plus they mark at the pick up point, even when they're half a block away, starting the "wait fee" timer that you can't dispute.
I couldn't find a way to say something without calling customer support. The last few times I've reserved a ride for the evening and then the ride would do something stupid like driving all the way here to just cancel or not move. I've been waiting for a hour and 10 minutes after my reserved time. This is seems to be very common, but if I just order one then and there, I can get one in 15 min with awesome drivers. I reserved rides so I can not stress about rides. and I'm stressed. Taxi > Uber
The uber drivers are not at fault for this review. I believe that the user interface for the app is terrible. There should be options to switch to a more convenient or faster path instead of changing the trip every other ride(when going to the same location). Also, the cost of the trip always increases afterwards so you can't trust the pre-determined cost. Overall, could be a lot better as an app.
Just got a free month of Uber One, I've been ordering more than usual. The app is near unusable. It often fails to save my selections when I customize items, so more than once I've ended up paying for an item I just throw away. And Uber makes complaints really difficult. The most they offer is a $5 credit which never covers the cost of the item. I'm waiting now for them to credit back the rest of an order, which they may just never do and then I'm out $15. Unacceptable.
