I've tested a bunch of wireless audio apps and VBAN Receptor is one of the better ones. The sound quality is really impressive, and the vintage-style EQ gives you a lot of control over the audio. In my experience, the latency is low enough that it works great for things like gaming or watching movies. The only downsides are that the UI takes some getting used to, and the free version has ads. But if you don't mind that, it's a pretty solid app.

Description

Been using VBAN Receptor for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you stream audio from your computer to your phone wirelessly. Pretty solid if you’re into high-quality wireless audio.

Here’s what you do – you can connect to any VBAN audio stream and listen to it on your phone. There’s also a built-in 3 band EQ and analog gain control, which is pretty cool. You can even mix down 5.1 or 7.1 surround streams to stereo. Took me a while to figure that part out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re an audiophile or just someone who likes wireless audio, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you need a wireless audio solution.

The app could use of an option to keep the phone awake. Losing quality/buffering when the apps gets in the background or phone gets into idle/sleep. Other than that very...

Still perfectly useless on flagships - Samsung Galaxy S9+, S20 Ultra Exynos (Android 8,9,10,11). Audio stops around 4m45s screen of even when VBAN is on "Do not put to sleep"...

Exactly what I wanted, turning my phone into a remote speaker for my VBAN on my stream PC. Only one small request if you ever dust this app a new...
