Love the app! But recently, maybe this is an android 15 thing, but when selecting audio, I used to be able to pick by "browse files in other apps". It was better bc the stock picker is limited. Can you add it back? Other that that, THIS IS THE BEST AUSIO EDITOR FOR ANDROID!
Reviews for WavePad Audio Editor
← Back to WavePad Audio EditorWhen I try to import an M4A audio file, I get a message that says, "The file format you are trying to open is not supported on Android. Sign up for a subscription to open this file for editing in a usable format via SwiftConverter Commercial Service. Would you like to start your subscription?" Why do I need to sign up for a subscription just to open it?! Why?!?!
This app would be great if I could actually add the audio, it's always telling me that the audio is not supported on an Android or IOS. And I have to pay a DAMN subscription to use this app when it says it's "FREE" Pls fix this.
purchased all available features but none of them work. now asking me to purchase again. Customer service is a joke. They keep saying "you downloaded a free app" but paying for the upgrade doesn't count? Gave me horrible instructions to restore but what they said isn't even available. NCH your name is on this app, it should function like the desktop version. Stop blaming the app developers and fix the problems. Stop saying "it's a free app" after we paid for functionality.
I paid for NON commercial use of this app, and now suddenly none of the features I've used forever, such as compressor, etc, are available. It was a great app, but if this is the way you treat paying customers I'll just delete it. Too bad, but changing things with no warning and shuttering features for yet MORE MONEY is ridiculous.
Today, I paid for the non-commercial, $60.00 us $ I go to register it. The website denies my register key. I emailed after several rejected attempts, so I email them, twice. they sent me my registration key it was the same I had. We tried several times again. I can't register it. so a second email is sent with the same complaint and that the software installed, won't work because it is not registered. My card has been charged and I come home to an email notice that the company blocked my email.
wavepad has been very much helpful, at first I thought it was somehow fake, but I gave it a try and it happened to be great, I actually didn't know its use and so later on i saw an action button,“cleanup” and right away I knew it's true potential I tried it out and it was terrific, it's got many tools to clean enhance voice and change pitch to fast or slow and cool effects. before I ever stumbled upon wavepad my music had always been noisy and drab.
If I could give zero stars I would, the recording automatically starts when you press new file so then you have to delete, and then when you press the record button at the bottom and you're ready to start recording your audio it pops up with a message sometimes saying please buy our app and then when you press no thanks it starts the recording when you aren't ready so it's a process off restarting a million times. On top of that it makes it impossible to overlap your voice to a beat.
Not even worth learning one's way around the app. Too many unexpected shut downs plus, it lacks the basic editing capabilities that any music editing app should naturally have in this day and age. If you lock your phone for any reason, don't expect for your work to be there when you go back into the app. Once you leave the app, it won't even have the mp3 in it that you imported into from your phone's library.
Update: This app crashed my computer while updating for this app. The download has been going on for weeks and I cant get on my computer. Thanks I hope you can fix this because this is not okay! Way too many problems. Records automatically making it difficult to trim every single file I create. When you stop recording it always ask if you're sure making for even more trimming on every single file. Did anyone test this product before sending it to the public?
Understand two things 1: this app is fantastic for people who are unsure of and new to the world of audio editing. Specifically for your voice, and it's a great tool for that. 2: it is an incredibly predatory app. You can use all the features for maybe an hour or two, which is about how long it takes to learn it. After that, it starts taking away features you had already started using until you can only use maybe 4 or 5 tools that aren't the record it play buttons. Don't bother buying it.
I have wavepad audio editor pro for desktop, but this Android version runs very slow and clunky on Android 10. But the biggest problem is where it stores its audio, which is within its own application, and nowhere that can be located with a file locator! All of a sudden I'm out of internal ram! That's because all audio opened within the application saves itself within the application, taking up system memory. Google Files could not find it. MobiSystems File Commander could not find it.
If you're a musician who's done some home recording, you've probably downloaded and used Audacity. It's intuitive, elegantly simple DAW software that, despite it's limitations, does everything you need to get a song tracked, roughly edited, and mixed down. It's also free to utilize 99% of its features to your heart's content for as long as you wish. I know this is for phones, not PCs, but these guys want you to go thru a pay wall just to PAN an effing track. A bit assholish!
I used this to trim a piece of audio in different spots, something you can't do in most other apps. Remembering how useful it was, I bought the full version and tried it again on another audio file. What happened?? Navigation is horrible now. The window where you trim is tiny and I can't resize it. If I try to trim it down by deleting or cutting, the whole waveform dissappears and asks if I want to record!! And there is no undo button that I can find! Uggggghhhh!!
Wavepad went from being a dream to use to being a nightmare to think about using. Sometimes, trying to tap the select button results in opening up that file instead due to how tiny the button is. And you can't even send a file to a folder or anything else anymore due to apparently having nothing selected. The updates kept making this app worse and worse. Update: It got worse.
It worked for the short time (15-30 mins) I used it to trim a song to make a ringtone, but the tool dropdown while editing was intrusive and got in the way of effectively selecting the segment I wanted a number of times. Overall the app version is less user friendly than I remember wavepad on pc being. Making a quick edit take longer than necessary. But it did the job I wanted, albeit with effort. Another plus side was no ad intrusion, so theres that?
I've tried to save a file as an MP3 for over an hour (I even paid the $5 to unlock all of the filetypes thinking that would fix it). The app doesn't even show me what is the actual error message is covered by yet another popup saying "error saving file" and if i close that the other window closes too. Which is incredibly frustrating. I wouldn't waste your time or money on this app if you can help it.
I purchased the pro version, the one time pay for life. When I open the app and click "upgrade" it says all parts are owned, but on my screen the app is labeled "wavepad free". And it is clearly the free version as there all all the accompanying limitations. I have contacted customer support multiple times to try and figure out how to get the app I paid for. I have never heard back. I even tried to get a refund and couldn't. I am deeply frustrated. where should send contact info for your suppo
I've been using this app for recording commentary for my YouTube videos and once you get the hang of using the app, it is easy to use. Audio records clearly, especially if you have the phone close to you (I plan on testing this with a Bluetooth mic). One major con I have about this app is if your phone screen turns off, or the phone sleeps, the recording STOPS! It would be awesome to have an option to prevent sleeping. Also an option for active noise suppression would be awesome.
This app works great, BUT BEWARE OF FREE TRIAL. I loved this app, and it's layout, and features, until I found out it wasn't completely free. Most people don't know because they already bought the expensive version, but I have multiple sources, including the official website, that say that when you install this app, it automatically installs a 14 day free trial. It is important to note however, that I deleted the app to avoid being charged, and I was never actually charged, so just be safe.
