Description
Been using the Wear OS by Google Smartwatch app for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that connects your smartwatch and phone so you can get more out of your watch. Pretty solid if you’re into wearable tech and fitness tracking.
Here’s what you can do: you can get proactive help from your Google Assistant, like checking your commute times, upcoming reservations, and flight status. There’s also health and fitness tracking – you can see your progress on Heart Points and Steps goals. And you can control your music right from your wrist, which is pretty convenient.
Look, if you use a Wear OS smartwatch, you’ll probably find this app really useful. It’s not perfect – the setup can be a bit finicky at first – but overall it does a good job of enhancing your watch experience. Worth checking out if you’re in the Wear OS ecosystem.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on the Wear OS by Google Smartwatch app. I've tested a bunch of smartwatch companion apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The Google Assistant integration is the standout feature - it's super handy to get that kind of proactive help right on your wrist. And the fitness tracking is also well done, and I like being able to control music without pulling out my phone. That said, the initial setup can be a bit tricky, and the app does feel a little bare-bones compared to the Apple Watch ecosystem. But if you're rocking a Wear OS watch, this is a must-have companion.
