Just reduced my review from 3 stars to 2 stars. Can't make a payment to my credit card account. It just sits there and spins and never goes through. I can't understand a company that would treat customers this way. I'm trying to pay, FFS! I can access the app just fine, see my cc account. But making a pmnt, it just goes into endless spin. I can log in the website and get the payment done. Why bother with the app!? I've never had a problem with any other financial institution's mobile app.

The whole point of online banking is to be able to see your account. I have to use biometrics twice in a row to log in, and whenever I try to check my account, it says something went wrong on your side. No kidding, something went wrong! I'm already frustrated account changes were made without any notification, and now this. You need to do better, or I'm definitely switching banks.
The new update SUCKS for many reasons..... I do not like that I constantly have to put in my user name and password to be told that they do not match and after about the fifth time of typing in the same thing it finally gets accepted! Then the posted and pending transactions being in the same section, the old version they were separated this one they are not. I also do not like how my daily text balance amount is different than the amount shown if I were to login through the app!
Do not do business with Wells Fargo. Customer service is completely lacking. After being told my card payment date could be changed to make it easier to make the (final few remaining) payments, apparently the person telling me this did not make that change in my account. Long story short, they now claim I've had late payments, have charged HUGE, ridiculous late fees, and lowered my credit by $8,500. I was a loyal customer for several years and never missed a payment. Unbelievable.
Gosh what am I missing here? I can't even sign in. I always get an error saying "there was a problem on our end". It's been days now. Reset my PW multiple times and re-downloaded the app just in case. No change. Ideas please? Edit -- I did contact support and they said "try reinstalling the app" and "just wait a couple hours." Neither suggestion worked. I can't logon through a browser nor this app. Same error. "Something went wrong on our end." Incredibly inconvenient.
Since the updates, I always have to log in twice. Then it says that there was a problem and it forces me to sign out. When I log in again (twice) it will let me access the app. That means 4 attempts to sign in which seems ridiculous to me. Once I'm in, seeing the transactions is difficult since all I see is "purchase authorized" but I have to click on each entry to see the name of the place I purchased from. I hope you will make some of these improvements moving forward. Thanks.
I was able to keep myself and account in check more better with the older version. All transactions would appear. I have over drafted my account 3x this week due to this error. Yes, I need to balance better, my fault. However, I haven't overdrafted 3x in a week with the other version. I thought it was my math until I realized it was the update causing me issues. No longer can rely on the app like I had for years.
Good in-store customer service. Terrible phone customer service because you go through 16 prompts and end up on hold for 10 minutes. Ridiculous, cancerous, unforgiving, unrelenting fees. I've been a customer for 30 years and a rarely get a break on any sort of fee. Also, they are always trying to upsell me on another banking services. I'm simply too lazy to switch banks.
So, yes. The new app is horrifying. I hadn't thought about coming here to add my review and when I did, I see that I'm not alone. All my relevant information is gone (like the checks tab) for example. It appears all transactions are jammed together on an endless list that you can't scroll through since it will glitch up and down on you. Who in their right mind thought, "Hey, this is perfect, let's release it"? I can't even imagine.
For the size of the corporation it's an ok app. When you log in (at least half the time) it takes you to update our phone numbers instead of straight to accounts. The numbers are correct, nothing to change, have been asked a million times. Now, for at least a couple weeks, not only does it make me take this dumb pointless step, it locks up and I have to force stop, etc. I need my balances quickly. It happens so much I am leaving this review bc there is nowhere for feedback (imagine that).
Generally takes 3-4 times to get this app to work. Takes multiple sign-on's. Sometimes it open to blank screen, other times to account summary but when you click on account get an error, other times get an error just signing on. Used to be great. Since the app was updated it has been painful. I neglect my accounts. I have also tried Uninstalling and reinstalling several time over the past few months. This doesn't help.
Edit: Newest update makes it worse! I can't get to my bill pay section on my phone. Fix it or loose customers! Every time I log in, I get a message saying the log in failed, then about 1-2 seconds later I am logged in with no further action on my part. There are ads that mask as "offers," it is much harder to search transactions now. The update solved no known problems and feels like an over simplistic version of itself. On the plus side...the details of each transaction are easier to read.
The app stopped working a month or two ago. I have the same issues as everyone else. Login rarely works. When it does, the app gets stuck on a white screen, or kicks me out again. I emailed support, they told me to call the 800 number (like all the other reviewers here). I called that but gave up after 2.5 minutes of their automated phone maze. "Press 1 for.... press 2 for.... sorry, I didn't quite catch that..." I'm just going to stick with the website for now. Hopefully they fix the app eventually.
This app was perfectly fine up until the last update. I'm not sure what happened, or if it doesn't support Samsung products, but I can no longer sign onto the app. Whenever I log in it shows the error message of "Your sign on cannot be completed at this time", but the website works just fine. If I wasn't on the go nearly all of the time, that might be fine to have to stop and open a browser and then put all my info in. I'm considering switching banks now, this is kind of pathetic.
Just use the website. the only reason I switched to the App was to stop getting the "why not use the App" pop up every time I used the website, but the App has SO MANY MORE POP-UPS. Not ads, just "Tips" and extra pages. It has useless notifications and, of course, an AI that doesn't ever provide actual help or answer questions. It's not a bad App, but you'll at least double the amount of clicking you need to do to get anything done.
Latest updates have made it much harder to deposit checks through the app. I often use echecks to print and deposit my payments but now I always get hit with "we're having trouble processing your photos". This has worked fine for years until about a month ago. Now I have to work trips to physical branches during business hours into my schedule because of these changes on the back end
when i send money by Zelle, the button "send" is located below the main screen and invisible. i forget to click the button "send" some time, because i can't see this button. But the top and bottom of the main screen includes a few lines , which nobody or most people don't read. I will change my review when i see the compact page, and this page will include all required parts to send money only.
I tried to sign up for a new checking account because I don't like my current bank. After having to sign on 6 times, change my password for no reason (I knew mine), and being transferred to tons of different pages, I was declined for lack of information and told to schedule an appointment at a bank. Which would require me to sign on again. I have a credit card with them and had an auto loan I paid off over several years. Never been late or problematic. They know who I am. Screw this lol.
Kind of getting tired of how long it takes the App to process payments. It's in the account, money is accounted for, both deposits AND transactions but the App is constantly like "I'll get around to those pendings one of these days." If that could be tightened up a bit, it'd be a 5 star app. Good way to get people to miscalculate how much money they have so you can get them to overdraw.
Very organized app, easy to access and intuitive.. but most importantly, the customer service is phenomenal!! Got scammed recently and had to call my bank about it and the bot recording couldn't even finish it's intro recording before a person on the other end picked up the phone to help me. They are kind, professional, and you can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their service. I called on Sunday and was told they'd put in a claim and to expect results by Monday.. it did!
